Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I find it MUCH faster to advance my frames using the radio. The bottom right show (except Buena's password) will advance it by 1 as well.

If you press the button in that corner so that it tunes to that station, and then press Up on the D-Pad move the tuner back to the centre (only press up, it doesn't need to be the exact centre). With a bit of practise, you can do like 2-3 frames a second like this. 42 advances would take about 2 minutes.
1 minute to confirm your seed, 30 seconds to advance to say 3 before 42, and then check the final 3 with Elm calls, just to check you haven't messed up.

Or if the delay is long enough, scroll down on the continue screen, and then back up (down at least 3 so that the screen does the jump to the second half of the menu).

Sorry, I had to jump on the bandwagon of posts :P

Well I did some calibration tests to see what I could do with the AR, and it threw off my seeds completely, so I reset my DS back to what it was.

Is it possible to RNG the legendary dogs in HG when you release them from the Burned Tower?

edit: Oops, nevermind. :x Just saw how you can RNG them from there.

Anyone mind telling me the delay for these stats of a Poke in the seed finder (I'm capturing Mewtwo and I'm trying to find out my delay for calibration)?

Characteristic: Good perseverance

If you calibrated for breeding, you don't need to calibrate for captures, as 90% of captures are going to be like 2 - 6 times longer than your normal egg calibration.
They are usually 2000-4000+ delays. So why calibrate it?

No, I'm just trying to find out what my delay is because when I changed the date around on my DS, it screwed up my normal calibrated delay, so I'm trying to figure out what it is again.

Thanks Megaman, apparently I was way off. I'm trying to get my normal 501 delay back, but I can't seem to set my DS to the correct year in order to do that. The lowest I can get my year to is 2000, then it reverts to 2099. I tried decreasing the year to bump the delay up a bit, but when I increase the year back to 2010, my delay keeps getting lower and lower.

OK, I can only speak from my own experience, but I never bothered calibrating.

Using 480 as your "calibrated delay" and 14 as your "calibrated seconds" on HGSS will be pretty reliable.
The only thing I've found is that I need an "other delay" of 47.

If you just do one run with these settings, and check which seed you hit using Elm calls (do +/- 99 for the adjacent seeds). Use this as your calibration:

i.e. Say you're going for 895 delay, and you hit 845, then your other delay would be 50 each time you go for it (since 895 - 845 = 50).
If you're going for 895 and you hit 925 your other delay should be -30 (since 895 - 925 = -30).

That worked for my "calibration".

Well, I'm just trying to get my old 501 delay back, but I can't seem to fix that, or I don't know how to right now. If my delay is 481, I might stick with that until I can RNG again, but I just can't seem to hit my seed anymore, despite putting in all the correct data in Pikatimer.

I'm aiming for 501 again because it was easiest for me to hit my seed with that calibrated delay. Anything else just seems to throw me way off. I was able to RNG something with calibrated delay of 501 and wanted delay of 639 with no problems at all, but since I changed the year to try and RNG through my AR, it screwed everything up.

I never calibrated either. I used the timer to figure out what it was and just left it that way. FYI, if you use the timer I created it finds your exact calibrated delay and saves it so you don't have to remember it.

I didn't realize that your calibrated delay could change..? Never did with me.

It changes if you change the year of your DS.

Anyone know how I can increase my delay from 481 back to 501 if my starting DS's date is 2010?

Well I like to use my calibrated delay by getting into the game as fast as possible, that's how I determine how easy it is for me to hit my seed. I just want to know how I can increase my calibrated delay back to 501 by changing the DS's clock if my date is at 2010.

What calibration is how fast you get into the game. The faster you get in the lower the delay. So you're simply going to have to go slower, or go with a lower delay. There is no "if you change the year, you'll always land on this delay."

So if you're on 2010, even if you change it to say 2060. You'll still get the same delays as you did on any other year. It's YOU that determines which delay you land on.

I'm not sure I understand. From what I've read, people tell me that to increase my calibrated delay, I decrease the date on my DS's clock by 1 year.

It's just that my calibrated delay was once 501, and I was always able to hit my seed quickly. Now, my calibrated delay is 481, and I've been RNGing to hit my seed, but I'm nowhere near it.

This is what I thought. It is the target delays that change if you change the years, correct?

Since you can hit 481 look for a seed that has a delay of 481? You're simply going faster than 501.

Yes, if your target delay in 2010 is 501, but you change it to 2020, it's going to go down 10, meaning the new target delay at 2020 is 491.

Well I always used my 501 calibrated delay and wanted delay of 639. This always, always worked for me, and I could hit my seed in 5 minutes.

Now, I have a 481 calibrated delay, and my wanted delay is still 639, but I never hit my seed anymore. Maybe I'll just try setting Pikatimer to a 501 delay and see if I hit my seed again.

Well, I don't quite understand what you're doing wrong, or what you're even doing with that wanted delay.
I guess all you can do is keep trying I suppose, go back to 501 for calibrated and whatever for wanted, and keep going at it.
