I still think Darko is a huge bust, especially with Bosh and DWade on the table. But people look at numbers based on how many years you've spent in the league. Darko is as old as Rajon Rondo and Daniel Gibson, who are considered younger developing players--he might find his potential someday. On the other hand, that's about the same age as veterans like Carmelo and Lebron.

why hasn't darko broken out anywhere else he's been

You dont understand, If Melo was in this position, he would have broken out when he left. Im just saying that LB would never have given him a chance, in the same way that he used Darko. When Darko left he got A CHANCE. With the pistons he didnt, and the same would have been for Melo.

um. you just said if melo was picked, he would have broekn out when he left. then you said when darko left, he got a chance. but what AR said was that darko hasn't broken out anywhere else yet. you've said nothing relevent at all....

you dont know if they wouldn't have succeeded on the pistons anyways. a 2nd year ring goes a long way if you have that much skills. and you dont know if larry would have reacted that way. suppose the pistons got the #1 instead, do you honestly think larry brown wouldn't play lebron? i'm sure he'll play bosh/wade/carmelo roughly 20 mins or more. darko was just a horrible choice by dumars.

Hype probably played its role as well. They both would have had to wait till they left the pistons, maybe not lebron though. Im saying, when Darko left he finally got a chance outside of garbage time. Maybe melo would have gotten more PT in the pistons system. Not until he left would he have gotten close to 25 mins. No one really knew who was going to be that good anyways, look at all the other great players who came out (David West, Mo Williams ect)

Well, a mistakes a mistake.

Amare Stoudemire was in the same draft class and he went what, 18th?

That was a different draft.

And I just saw the Devin Harris shot O_O

He got blocked, didn't get a good look at it and it was from half court.

Damn that was a nice shot...... Different from what Sheed did, but it was great. maybe the Nets get some confidence and start playing well?

When is Nowitzki going to become a free agent? I can't see him staying with Dallas after all these disappointing years.

It'll be interesting to see if any teams want Marbury. There was something on NBA.com about how Marbury is going to sign with the Celtics.

Man Pistons are really tanking it this year. The AI trade has OBVIOUSLY not worked out, and all it did was show how valuable and underrated Chauncey Billups has been all these years...

As Joe Dumars has said, he mainly did the trade to start the rebuilding process now, not in a couple years when the 2010 Free Agent class would be done and over with.

The other unit with Chauncey was not going to win a championship. Eastern conference final, sure, but a championship, no.

If you're a fan, you can't be happy about that. Blowing up a good team that has any chance to be a contender in the NBA is never a good idea because it's so hard to improve in the league.

Sure, it's nice that teams are getting ready for the 2010 free agent class, but who knows if anybody's actually going to leave their teams. I'm optimistic that the Knicks will get good players, but history isn't on the side of teams looking to sign guys, and at least Chris Bosh and Amare Stoudamire will be there, but who knows.

As for Detroit, it'd be a good move for them to make a run at Boozer this offseason, considering that they have the most cap room this offseason.

In the Mavs' Jan 21 loss to Milwaukee, Erick Dampier played nearly 25 minutes. In the Mavs' win against Milwaukee last night, he played 5 minutes. I think that Rick needs to play Dampier less and rely on guys like Bass and Singleton. Dampier kinda... sucks.

I liked Damp. back in Golden State. I remember he said something like he was the best in the west or something and Shaq laughed at him. Bass is very nice though, for an undersized bigman he grabs boards well.

Zero, do you honestly think Nowitzki will leave Dallas? I think he feels too obliged to stay after all his success with them and basically being the franchise.

(I hope he leaves, though. He deserves a title :()

YES YES YES.
That was a terrific victory over Cleveland. I think we can now safely say that the Alston trade has been an unmigitated success.
