New to comp, need advice

Just updated ty for the update advice to everyone if possible please give me some advice that can improve this stall team

This is pretty much a stall team, i'm looking to improve it. I notice there is quite a few changes that need to be done to help improve it. I see that I lose to alot of physical baton pass teams and also I have troubles with vaporeon and scrafty because of their status curing abilitys.

chansey.jpg

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs:HP 252 Def 252 SPD 4
Nature: Bold -ATK + DEF
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish
note: He is pretty much here to wall all Special Attacks, aswell as giving out status effect toxic. Also I use him to wish heal other members that I can switch in to without them dieing.

espeon.jpg

Espeon @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: SPA 252 SPE 252 HP 4
Nature: Timid -ATK +SPE
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power (Grass)
note: I use him as a late game sweeper and to check pokemon that like to do hazards aswell as taunt and whirlwind due through Magic Bounce

472Gliscor.png

Gliscor @ Poison Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs:HP 252 DEF 184 SPE 72
Nature: Impish +DEF -SPA
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Toxic
gliscor poison heal
note= use him to check fighting types aswell as swapping him into a lightning attack. I'm considering taking out taunt for ice fang still not sure yet. Pretty much this is my Defensive wall I know he can get 1hko to almost any ice attack including HPice. So was hoping for suggestions to other def walls that I can use

423.png

Gastrodon @ Left Overs
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: HP 252 SPD 252 DEF 4
Nature: Sassy +SPD - SPE
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover
- Ice Beam
note= Another SPA wall I use him for switch ins, mainly for water, also have the ice beam for dragons and other pokes that get hurt from ice

sableye.png

Sableye @ Left Overs
Ability: Prankster
EVs: HP 252 DEF 120 SPD 136
Nature: Careful -SPA +SPD
- Recover
- Will o Wisp
- Taunt
- Night Shade
sableye prankster
note = I like sableye alot he can cripple almost to all ATK based pokemon, he also has an immunity to fighting types which is something that allows him to switch into a close combat and with prankster have the initiation will o wisp and tank what ever they are throwing at him

Heatran_Artwork.png

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: SPA 252 SPE 252 HP 4
Nature: Timid -ATK + SPE
- Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon
- Stealth Rocks
- Roar
note = so he is usually my lead I try to get rocks up unless they lead with something thats weak to fire than I'll blast them. I also have roar for baton passers that like to be behind subs. I chose to give him the evs to his speed which has him at 278 speed so he can out speed most pokes.

You kinda sort of need to make this thread look better for people to post to be honest.

I don't have the time or effort to make a full rate but from quick scan it seems that your aiming at sort sort of stall here. It looks that your main problem is you lack a serious physical wall, mainly a steel type, Gliscor can't take boosted outrages. You may want to consider a physical steel wall over heatran since at the moment all it does is set up and phaze something which Skarmory does or Ferrothorn to a lesser extent.

Espeon in general is a poor choice on a stall team as its very weak to pursuit, and if espeon goes down or can't switch in exactly on a set up pokemon, your stuck with the hazards. So consider a spinner over it, considering that you use it as a check, Starmie may be the best switch.

Suggested move changes:
Espeon: grass knot -> hp fire / fighting to hurt much more threats in the metagame
Gastrodon: toxic over protect any day
Heatran: flash cannon is pretty useless honestly, run HP ice or earth power over it

put in greater detail, like what role each pokemon plays, what kind of team you have, add some images, organize it. Read some of the many many guides, or look in the RMT archive at pro teams and learn from those. :D

I can see this team having problems with eviolite Chansey, even though you have Toxic, 9 times out of the 10 the Chansey will have Natural Cure. I suggest replacing Sableye with a Life Orb Terrakion

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide (if you want more accuracy)
- Close Combat
- Rock Polish

Also replacing either Gastro or Gliscor, as they both kind of serve the same purpose. Add more physical defence to either and maybe a Choice Scarfer trait will serve your team well, I suggest maybe a Scarf Landorus.

Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

I'm not going to go extreamly in-depth so that's pretty much it. You should definitely test this on PO before going on Wifi. Hope you appreciate it. ^^

Welcome to Smogon fallenherox! As some players have already mentioned your RMT will be much easier to rate and understand if you add more information about your team. It's often very difficult for team raters to get a good feel for your team if you don't post accompanying text or pictures. If you want a better understanding of how to make a good RMT that other users will rate I suggest checking out the rules, located here. Rule number 3 in particular lays out the best way to develop and construct an RMT. I hope this helps! Apply the changes suggested above and you'll have a much better chance of receiving really good rates. You might also want to check out the RMT archive to see examples of really well constructed RMTs and teams.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

ty to everyone who took the time to answer my thread I will add some pictures in terms of roll I was pretty direct about each personal role but if I should be more indepth than I will try to post all the details I apologize for the sloppy set up and ty again for the links

you still need to work on the RMT add your weakness's etc problems that keep arising such as you said "I see that I lose to alot of physical baton pass teams" mention what pokemon actually give you the problem. but going off what i read i suggest

swapping protect for softboiled on chansey
- chansey can tank most hits and soft boiled allows you to scout what they're using
and you heal up the damage from it not to mention it goes along nicely with your team
as your going for a stall team.
swapping taunt for substitute on gliscor
- gliscor can use toxic and proceed to substitute and protect to stall your opponent
to death as well as hiding behind a substitute and you can use substitute to tank a hit
and scout your opponent and if they're a choice item wielder then they're locked on
that move making you able to swap in a different pokemon without taking much damage.
i also suggest SD terrakion over heatran as he can be a valuable sweeper
Terrakion @ Rock Gem
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

if you dont want to swap heatran out though try this set instead
Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Roar

Welcome to smogon and i hope i helped :)

Well two of the main guys I see I have issues with are scrafty and vaporeon since they are pretty much immune to effects also espeon. If possible I would like to swap out my gastrodon for a decent physical wall that can produce rocks if I can do that than I wouldn't mind taking out my heatran for a SD terrakion for late game sweepage also I will try out taking out espeon for a spinner *starmie*. Does anyone know a decent Physical wall that would compliment my team against DD hax/dragonite and also something that can give vaporeon and scrafty hell

On top of what everyone else has mentioned, one thing that I've been told that you should keep in mind: Don't get discouraged. You're going to lose...a lot. Whatever happens, you've got to pick yourself off the ground and give it another go. I took this name to remind myself of that, since I'm pretty much what you would call a n00b.

That being out of the way, Flash Cannon really isn't a good idea for Heatran, as it's a poor attacking type (Scizor's bullet punch is more used because of its uncanny power and utility than its typing) and it doesn't serve the purpose of your supposed "stall" strategy. You're also better off replacing Fire Blast with Lava Plume, as that 30% burn chance along with damage comes in handy more often than you might think due to Heatran's natural bulk, which is an unusual thing for a fire-type to have and a trait that saw him stay at or near the top of the DPPt usage ladder for quite a while. If you really need a second attack move in there, Earth Power is the standard over Flash Cannon.

You know who takes boosted outrages and doesn't give a shit about earthquake? Skarmory. He also has the incidental benefit of setting up spikes on the foe's team and using Whirlwind to make sure they have an impact. If you run the bog standard Skarmory set of Spikes, Whirlwind, Brave Bird and Roost with Leftovers over Gliscor, you'll still have a formidable physically defensive presence.

Espeon has its uses to keep debilitating status moves away from your team, but if you need a late-game cleaner, Alakazam is a superior choice for the role. Magic Guard ensures that inclement weather and hazards will not bother him, and he can run a variety of sets consisting of three attacks and a setup move of your choice, as Zam usually has the sheer power to make it work. Calm Mind, Psyshock, Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fire is but one of several possible examples.

With Heatran running Lava Plume which can cause damage AND burns, you're free to run another move over Will-o-wisp on sableye. Thunder Wave is an excellent choice, as paralysis takes the teeth out of pretty much every offensively oriented pokemon and gives you another debilitating status to play with. As a bonus, it's 100% accurate.

Heatran: Fire Blast and Flash Cannon out, Lava Plume and Earth Power in
Gliscor out, Skarmory in
Sableye: Will-O-Wisp out, Thunder Wave in
Espeon out, Alakazam in (Timid, Life Orb, 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe, Psyshock/Shadow Ball/HP Fire/Calm Mind)

For a physical wall that can produce rocks, I suggest the standard Metagross set, that has massive defense, a solid Steel/Psychic typing, and good offenses.

Metagross @ Adamant
Leftovers, Clear Body
Adamant, 252 hp, 252 attack, 4 Spd
Stealth Rock
Meteor Mash
Hammer Arm
Bullet Punch

For this set, you can switch the attack evs to Special Defense (and switch nature to Careful) if you want to be more a mixed wall, especially viable because of Chansey's wishes keeping you in the game. Also, bullet punch can be switched to ice punch if gliscor and Dragonite/Salamence gives you trouble, or thunderpunch for Skarmory/Gyrados.
