Sleepwalker - Megadeth

I'm trying to learn some double bass stuff and Megadeth (while not easy) is fun stuff to play. Sleepwalker in just relentless with the double kick!

Rise Against - Anyway you want it

Alot of people don't like this version, I'm not one of them lol

One of my favorite covers. They totally rape the original song but there's that sort of originality in their version of the song that it makes it great. Plus, they do the solo in the song pretty well. Older Rise Against is great nonetheless.

God is an Astronaut - Fragile

You're officially cool in my book.

Catch Without Arms by dredg

Probably their best song. Such superb lyrics and I really love the guitar work, just so versatile and creates the right kind of an atmosphere. I like it how the song is so melancholy, yet it manages to cheer me up whenever I hear it. Been really into dredg lately, too.

That's what happens when you play catch without arms.

10/10

Big Girl Now - New Kids on the Block and Lady GaGa

Great pop / dance song, it's a really pumpy song!

Back in the day when you were young (it was fun)
Little girl, didn't think you were the one (Now here I come)
Your sexy walk, your sexy talk (That's whats up)
Little girl, you're clearly not the same kid form the block

I haven't got the album this is on (only own El Cielo which is fucking amazing by the way), is it good?

R.E.M. - Losing My Religion

if you don't know this you are under a rock

Cassandra Gemini by the Mars Volta

32 minutes is quite long for 1 song, but they pull it off pretty fantastically, don't be intimidated by the length!

Catch Without Arms features way more vocals and is less ambient than El Cielo. It's a great prog rock album but it's hard to compare to El Cielo imo.

Kill The Old, Torture Their Young by Biffy Clyro

Back when Biffy used to have cool lyrics, awesome song names and that sort of a raw touch to their music with a little dip into calm, acoustic music as well. Blackened Sky is easily their best album. It's just not as catchy as Puzzle. Kill The Old, Torture Their Young has one of my favorite riffs ever - melancholic, slow and has the effective melody in it. Also, Simon Neil really brings out his high vocals in this song.

Also, by being six minutes long, it's one of the longest Biffy tracks, which makes it eve better because they can't be boring even if the songs would last long. The rhythm, the sounds of the instruments, the vocals, all change so many times within the song that it possible can't bore you.

Speaking of dredg

dredg - Scissor Lock

I really love this album. Of The Room is my favourite on the record, maybe The Canyon Behind Her. I don't really get why people call it prog, it sounds more like alt rock to me... also, I hear Tool-ish riffs on some songs here.

I heard CWA is a lot more mellow than El Cielo, that true?

Helmet - Vaccination

I found one of my dad's old Helmet albums, Betty, the other week and put it on my iPod to check them out. Loving Street Crab and Wilma's Rainbow too.
