Nuzlocke Challenge

I'm planning a new run at the moment. I'm putting my emerald run on hold, just for now. I want something that is enjoyable and less hectic. I need help deciding which game to do.
My choices:
- Pokemon Gold
- Pokemon Silver
- Pokemon Crystal

Generation II is my favourite Gen. The game I've played the most in the whole pokemon series is Pokemon Silver. I need help choosing which game to do. Any suggestions?

(Note: I'm not abandoning my Emerald run. I just need a quick break.)

@Addiethunder:
Silver is probably my favorite of the Gen IIs (for all of their drastic differences, right?) but I would go with Crystal just for the extra battles against idiots like Eusine and whatnot.

I'm about to start the Elite Four on Ruby. This is the first time I've ever played it without use of Hyper Potions and Revives. My Pokemon are pretty good though, and I have answers for all of the oppposing Pokemon. I hope I don't get unlucky.

So far my Pokemon are :

Mary (Vileplume), Lvl 50, Sunny Day/Solarbeam/Moonlight/Sleep Powder
Ken Brown (Hariyama), Lvl 51, Fake Out/Bulk Up/Brick Break/Earthquake
Bonnie (Exploud), Lvl 53, Strength/Overheat/Shadow Ball/Howl
Lima Muntz (Camerupt), Lvl 52, Flamethrower/Eruption/Rock Slide/Earthquake
Kesha (Pelipper), Lvl 49, Surf/Shock Wave/Fly/Blizzard
Harold JQ. (Swampert), Lvl 55, Surf/Ice Beam/Earthquake/Rock Tomb

If I lose this, it's over. I don't plan on grinding the Pokemon sitting on my PC.
My plan is to lead with Mary on most of these to put their starter to Sleep, then set up with Ken Brown on the Darks, and Bonnie sets up on the Ghosts. I might even try to sweep the whole Ice type Elite with Mary.

I hope this works. :O

Five hits of arm thrust is still less damaging than one vital throw
Arm thrust 10X5X1.5(stab)=75
vital throw 70X1.5=105

Arm Thrust has 15 base power.

Arm Thrust: 15*5*1.5=112.5 rounded down to 112 base power
Vital Throw: 70*1.5= 105 base power

But anything less than 5 hits from Arm Thrust will be less powerful than Vital Throw so Vital Throw is the safe and reliable choice here.

Dammit, ninja'd. Anyways tomorrow I will post another episode (or maybe today at like 4 am).

I am so sensitive about this shit
When a critical hit Poison sting killed Neji the Shroomish I ragequitted

xD

Plus I can't draw to save my life which kills some of the motivation to do a runthrough (I wanna make a comicccc)

I don't have recording equipment either, agh!
Plus I got into HG again so my emerald nuzlocke challenge is hiatus'd even if I DID have the heart to lose more pals this week... :'(

How DO you record videogames? Is there something I have to plug in into my Game Boy?

Dies if it Faints
Nickname All Pokemon
First Pokemon of the Route Only
Lose All of Party, You Lose, Even if Box Pokemon Remain
One Poke-Ball per Mart only
Limited to three uses of each Poke-Center
One use of all other healing methods (Mom's House for example)
Can't use items in battle.
No Switching before your opponent sends out another Pokemon(Set Mode or whatever).
Must beat all trainers and the Gym Leader in a Gym upon entering.
No Rematches with Trainers.
No Daycare Center
Going into red HP scars your Pokemon(aesthetic for comics and the such).
OPTIONAL ADDITION: 10 scars renders your Pokemon unable to be healed.

Ultra intense version I'm currently using that actually eliminates the possibility of excessive grinding, among other things.
Playing by these rules, on route to Surge.
So far only two deaths, seven pokemon, three of which are 23/24 and two of which I'm going to try grinding to those levels. That's gonna be a challenge under these circumstances.

I could use a camera and try and record off my DS but that's just poor quality, so as Doomvendingmachine said I'm recording from an emulator.

Also, episodes 16-17 are out.

FireRed
-Route 9 is uneventful, and I skip the grass altogether
-Route 10 pick up a Voltorb before going through Rock Tunnel.
-In Rock Tunnel I pick up a new Zubat. Squirt takes on most everything with Water Gun, though against one of the Picnickers I used Apophis, and every time Bite flinched the opponent.
-In Celedon I finally decide to put TM’s to use, giving Ice Beam to Squirt, Dig to Scout, Brick Break to Buzzy.
-Rocket Game Corner is fine until Giovanni. His first pokemon go down with no problems, but Kanga was hitting way harder than I expected with Mega Punch. I ended up sacrificing Pike to bring in someone with full health. I had to go to route 9 to pick up a new HM user (Kite).
-Pokemon Tower is easy, though I fail to catch a Gastly.
-Fly and Wing Attack make short work of Celedon’s grass gym.
-Onto Silph Co… and I lose Scout. At level 31, being confused hurts badly. Hyper Fang was really useful, and I had just gave it Dig.
-To make up for the loss of Scout I hold off on Silph Co to train up 2 new members, Andy the Voltorb and Kite the Rattata. I give Andy Shock Wave and Kite Cut and start battling on Route 11. Andy dies in the process.

Squirt the Blastoise @Modest Lv 36
-Ice Beam
-Water Gun
-Bite
-Protect

Pretty much my go to powerhouse.

pkfrlg017.png
Sam the Pidgeotto @Careful Lv33
-Fly
-Whirlwind
-Quick Attack
-Wing Attack

Fly has helped avoid a Selfdestruct, and Wing Attack cleared out the grass gym.

pkfrlg015.png
Buzzy the Beedrill @Timid Lv31
-Brick Break
-Rage
-Pursuit
-Twineedle

Brick Break has given Buzzy a faster kill time, providing me with an anti-Normal and Magnetite ‘mon.

pkfrlg024.png
Apophis the Arbok @Bashful Lv32
Intimidate
-Bite
-Secret Power
-Wrap
-Glare

Does decent work at taking physical hits thanks to Intimidate, and really helps against poisons.

pkfrlg020.png
Kite the Raticate @Serious
Guts
-Hyper Fang
-Quick Attack
-Cut
-Tail Whip

Former HM slave, now she has to become the replacement for Scout.

pkfrlg041.png
Bat 2.0 the Zubat @Naïve Lv 15
-Leech Life
-Astonish
-Supersonic

He’s just here because I don’t like looking at empty spots in my party this far into the game.

Mike the Pidgeotto Lv 18
Jill the Spearow Lv 17

Bats the Zubat (lv7) via Wild Paras
Kate the Butterfree (lv12) via Hiker’s Onix Rock Throw
Bottles the Diglett (lv23) via Lt. Surge’s Pikachu Quick Attack
Pike the Meowth (lv12) via Sacrifice to Giovanni’s Kangaskhan
Scout the Rattata (lv31) via Confusion in Silph Co
Andy the Voltorb (lv23) via training to replace Scout

Hell yes, I beat the Elite 4!!! I don't really have anything to say, except that Dragon Dance >>> the world. Both my Gyarados and Dragonite could use it, and I swept Koga, Bruno, Karen and Lance with practically no difficulty at all. :P Magneton took care of Will, also without much difficulty, though I did use an X Speed on him first.

My E4 team:

1. Level 48 Magneton (Meg)
2. Level 51 Gyarados (Pro)
3. Level 55 Dragonite (Lil)

What can I say? I like short nicknames.

Since I'm now at Kanto and my box is practically full, I'm gonna be turning off the duplicate clause and banning further use of the Pokewalker. I'm just about to take on Lt. Surge, so I'll update with a note on how that goes.

FUCK! I spent two days Grinding a Magikarp to level 18 (I had a rare candy) and on the second to last Zigazoon I mispredict and lose it. Also, my Kadabra got Crit'd.

RIP
Magikarp Lv. 18 (Gayradick)
Kadabra Lv. 16 (AlphaBeta9)
Whismur Lv. 7 (WHISMUR)

Current Sapphire team:
Roselia Lv. 25 (HemmyRose?)
Linoone Lv. 26 (Zoey)
Combusken Lv. 27 (Toasty)

Just beat 3rd Gym.

I'm sitting between Fortree and Lilycove in Sapphire finding raising a Vibrava and Lombre to be very depressing.

Lombre Lv. 39 (Give me a Water Stone!!!)
Vibrava Lv. 39
Blaziken Lv. 36
Tentacruel Lv. 36

Sorry man there are 2 places where you can get Water Stones: the Abandoned Ship (requires dive) or by trading a Blue Shard.

PS: See what I mean about overleveling? I'm at Mossdeep City and my highest level is 37.

To be honest that's pretty average for me. In this round and in most I only trained against trainers, I didn't grind at all. I'm pretty compulsive about battling all the trainers though so in FR/LG my team is usually around Lv. 33 at Erika.
