Official E3 2010 Topic

Honestly, I still think Golden Sun would have looked better in 2D than this kind of 3D, and I'm not sure about the moving battlefield, but I'll give it a try before saying anything else. I would have expected in a year they'd have a little more than this though, but whatever.

At least its not for 3DS, I wouldn't be able to buy one for a while.

Does anybody else believe Kirby's epic yarn is a co-op game? You have the blue kirby thing appearing about halfway through the trailer and then when you see 'the kirby tank' the top half is blue, the same colour as the kirby thing.

Did they specifically state that it was a co-op game? I think it would be akin to Kirby Super Star where you have "partners" that aid you in attacking enemies.

I found out what was disturbing me about Zelda Skyward Sword: there is no new 'feature'. In all the previous Zelda games, you had a focus on one big new ability, be it time travel, wolf transformation, wind control, train driving or whatever; in the new one, there's nothing but the sword and the new control scheme, but the control scheme itself is nothing new and as I said earlier it might even turn out boring and annoying...

After 30 something years, SEGA finally got it through their thick skulls to listen to people in the new sonic game. No stupid sidekicks, and they're pushing the release date back to fix everything. Of course, they'll probably decide at the last minute that he needs to be able to be a werehog and a knight at the same time :/
KIRBY FOR WII YESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!
3DS looks awesome.
Metroid OM is looking awesome! As a long time metroid fan, this is the change like bringing it to 3-d with prime, and I definatly think it's a step in the right direction for the series.
Zelda wii is an ocarina of time sequel YESYESYESYESYES!!!!

I don't know about that... Eiji Aonuma gave away in an interview with the Guardian that Link may be able to fly in this game... not to mention that in that trailer, he leapt off a cliff, and the camera appeared to be moving through the clouds in that sort of way... the name "Skyward Sword" seems to lend itself in that direction...

Granted, they didn't say anything about this at E3, but you never know, 6 months is a long time in which to get new information, and we didn't get all that much at E3 regardless. Still, food for thought.

Strange to say, I'm really liking the new look of the Zelda game, but I dislike this reliance on waving your arms about to swing a virtual sword - if I wanted to do that I'd go and play tennis. I've always been a fan of cel-shaded graphics, as they are something that draws a firm line between slightly jolly-jack-tar Wind Waker and the darker, more subtle Twilight Princess. Not to mention the nostalgia of the thing, as it reminds me so much of OOT and Majora's Mask it's uncanny. Still, something tells me that they'll do the same thing they did with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for the Wii - release a game with suspect graphics, then start working on another game with the best graphics the console can get, then overshoot and have to port the entire game onto a next-gen console. Still, if I can get the new Zelda game, I will - no sense having a Wii unless you use it...

On other topics, I might get Kid Icarus, bu I'm not really interested in any of the others... I was hoping for some new B&W info or a new Star Fox game, but I didn't get either. Still, best make the most of a situation.

Already there's one thing I don't like about the 3DS, the 3D slider which you can use to control the degree of 3D from the game. I hated the sliders on the DS and DS Lite. I preferred the rockers from DSi.

I think that the 3D pictures will be cool, but they will be of low quality. Like the DSi, it had 2 cameras, but its not something to go professional photography on. I do hope that we can get to tweak with our pictures.

Can someone explain to me the circular thingy on top of the D-pad? I couldn't understand what he said. I know its a "Slide Pad", but I don't know what its function.
EDIT - I think it's for analog control..

Here's how I'm watching the 3DS announcement.

Can someone post a picture of the 3DS, IGN isn't giving me anything.

Hope that helps.

Hmm.. They could've made the "Home" button a soft press on the power button. Easier and more convenient.
I have a feeling the buttons will have a "click" to them, like the DSi.
I also have a feeling that the cover will be glossy, therefore, a fingerprint magnet.
I am SOOOOO getting the red one.

Am I the only one not impressed with Kirby Wii? They completely ripped off Paper Mario. Kirby can transform his shape (but it doesn't look like he's eating anything), change the landscape, and move things around. It's just not Kirby =(

Sony showed NOTHING for one hour and a half, then suddenly remembered they had stuff to demo so we got to see LBP2 and GT5 and a couple of other things, but it was still pretty weak...

Nintendo's conference was easily the best among the constructors' three. I'll make a better summary later.

I don't see how it couldn't be a co-op game. At one point, Kirby throws the blue guy (Metanight?) onto a platform to collect all of the coins. When he landed, he paused, an AI character would have immediately moved down the platform to collect the coins.

I'm really excited for Kid Icarus and Shaun White Skateboarding (especially now that I'm sure it's not PS3 exclusive). Kid Icarus looks like it's basically a Kingdom Hearts 2 in 3D (you fly around, slash the hell out of things, shoot things, fight giant bosses, and kill things while flying). It might not have as good of a story but it still looks great. Shaun White Skateboarding looks like it's going to be a lot more like THPS than THAW, and THAW was kind've boring, IMO.

Nintendo's conference was outstanding. I'm really psyched they are going to make a worthy successor to the great GoldenEye 007. I gave up on Bond games shortly after they moved to PS2.

What more can you say about 3DS? It looks incredible. I love how the 3D is adjustable and the upgraded hardware. The graphics in Kid Icarus Uprising look like they could be for Wii. Mario Kart 3DS looks like a huge improvement over the title for DS too.
