Stealth Rock? - Dragonite, Volcarona, Gyarados, Salamence. Since when does Genesect threaten Kyurem? Kyurem can just pp stall off its +1 flamethrower. It actually helps Kyurem get net recovery with roost. Also, some teams have replaced Scizor with Genesect which is a good thing. Heatran does not synergise badly with hail teams. It can toxic bulky waters and provides Kyurem with double switch opportunities. BTW Genesect might lose 37% of its health if it tries to switch in agaisnt abomasnow. Here is a log showing why Genesect does not threaten Hail:

From what I've experienced, kyruem is mainly used to stall. Seeing as how OU is more offensively oriented and hail is rarely used, kyruem isn't going to be used that often. Out of all the BL pokes, gothitelle and wobbuffet are the most used seeing as how they perform niche roles on weather teams. Kyruem is good if used correctly, but I've found him to a typical BL poke.

Now for the actual stats, UU looks great. HO is viable with tornadus setting up rain and spamming hurricane. Virizion will be fun to play with seeing as how unpredictable it can be. Mew is back, but I haven't seen any yet. Mealotta is a dangerous poke, but I'm sure UU will be able to handle it.

Sad that stoutland fell. =(
I bet he'll be back in UU soon unless he gets banned to BL2.

He won't come back at all unless he suddenly rises to OU. Sand Stream was banned in UU and any lower tiers, meaning Stoutland is a below-average Pokemon in every aspect now that he's lost its one and only defining niche in Sand Rush. It's a real shame, he was awesome in UU and now he's not even gonna be used in PU. ;( Alas, poor Stoutland, I knew you well...

I really think Stoutland should be OU. Over there, Stoutland is pretty much amazing. Top revenge killer in sand. Just incredible. And I STILL don't understand why Sand Stream was banned. Stoutland isn't powerful enough so that everyone is like "OMG! I CAN'T BEAT THIS DOG!" And Gligar is weak, plus Rhyperior has an awful defensive typing. And it required the uselessness that is Hippopotas. I really don't understand how in the world Sand Stream would be OP in UU.

On a side note, shouldn't we move Monferno to the NFE list on the dex?

Its Normal-type STAB is terrible since it is walled by many things, and since Choice Band is the item that Stoutland most commonly uses, you have to be good at prediction to use it. With a little prior damage (20% normally) Stoutland is easily revenge killed by Breloom, and if you are facing an opposing weather team, Stoutland is very easy to deal with. I never needed to use Stoutland on my sandstorm team to it be effective.

I prefer Scarf Landorus since while it's Earthquake doesn't affect many pokémon, it is a much better STAB, plus Landorus is immune to Spikes and has U-Turn to mantain momentum, things that Stoutland can only dream of having. Apart from Landorus, Scarf Terrakion makes a better revenge killer, with better STABs in form of Close Combat and Stone Edge, and it isn't reliant on coverage to be a good revenge killer. And it also gets a nice 50% boost on SpDef from the sandstorm. Also: Both of them retain their speed even outside of sandstorm. Stoutland is also a good revenge killer and late-game sweeper but it is too reliant on the sandstorm and has a terrible STAB.

Without sandstorm on lower tiers, I wouldn't be impressed if Stoutland reached NU, since without the boost on speed from the sandstorm, Stoutland is just a normal (pun intended) Normal-type pokémon like any other.

I guess you're right. Still Stout is decent. But Let me get one thing out here: The fact that Normal has poor coverage leads me into wondering why sand was even banned in the first place. Stoutland is fairly easy to wall, and to top it all off, he needed the uselessness that is Hippopotas, who can't even cover half the things Stout has trouble with, simply tickling them with weak Earthquakes. Same applies to Gligar.

On a side note,

| 12 | Ambipom | 17095 | 12.194% | 15344 | 13.198% |

The fact that this thing even comes close to Top 10 is astonishing. Have you not read this article?http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue21/bottom_barrel. Ambipom is possibly the worst Pokemon in UU yet it manages to be a top-tier Pokemon. And don't trust the part about Scrafty or Munchlax. Or even the Dusknoir part for that matter. Otherwise, the rest is fair

| 44 | Wartortle | 4253 | 4.366% | 3484 | 4.343% |
Stop using this piece of shit, please. Worst spinner in the entire game is all that needs to be said

The fact that sandstorm was banned has nothing to do with Stoutland.

Also, Ambipom is in fact bad. It using Fake Out is very predictable; unlike Bisharp who also uses a move that can be evaded, there is no way to avoid this (Bisharp can use Substitute to force the enemy to attack him, enabling him to use Sucker Punch effectively). The fact that it is a Normal-type and is frail led me to know that it was bad even before this article came out. And Dusclops... It may be bulky as hell, but you are better off using other Ghost-types that can at least threathen the opposition instead of just being sitting ducks.

It's obvious that not every Pokémon on that article is so bad on the tier that they are not recommended to be used, like Scrafty, wich is good in OU if you give him proper support. But it is hard to use because the reasons said on the article, and there are pokémon on OU that bring the same result and require less team support. Of course, there are obvious things like Charizard, that makes me want to shoot who uses him in Ubers.

I know this is incredibly stupid fr me to ask but... do you have any usage stats for Random Battle and Challenge cup? Haha

Yes, *I* have the usage stats for Randbats and CC. But I've learned from experience not to publish them. People don't understand statistics and assume that things are wrong that aren't.

Am I the only one annoyed that Keldeo usage is so low? That thing is a beast in rain, and really deserves better. Meanwhile, Genesect is rising in OU. Possible Top usage?

You didn't read my post correctly. I did say that Ambipom is quite frankly, terrible. Requoting from my previous post:

"The fact that Ambipom comes even close Top 10 is astonishing. Have you not read this article? (Bottom of the Barrel link). Ambipom is possibly the worst Pokemon in UU yet it manages to be a top tier Pokemon"

So basically, I said Ambipom is bad. He is the worst UU Pokemon. Fake Out is not a great move that allows free damage on something; it's a very situational move that allows a free switch-in to something dangerous like Escavalier or Rhyperior.

And I didn't mention Dusclops. I mentioned Dusknoir. Dusknoir is great in RU; he beats Cryo, arguably the deadliest spinner, one-on-one, something Cofa never could do.

So that's all

And I didn't mention Dusclops. I mentioned Dusknoir. Dusknoir is great in RU; he beats Cryo, arguably the deadliest spinner, one-on-one, something Cofa never could do.

So that's all

The only thing that Dusknoir has over Cofagrigus is this; being capable of beating Cryogonal, but outside this, Cofagrigus > Dusknoir. But as Cofagrigus is going to become UU, Dusknoir may not have to worry about this sort of competition.

And sorry for not explaining why sandstorm was banned. I didn't had time that hour.

It's okay man. Someone else already gave the thread to the suspect votes. And Cofa already is UU.

EDIT:

| 50 | Zoroark | 6916 | 4.933% | 1218 | 1.048% |

Someone explain why there is a huge difference between Zoroark's Actual Use and Real Use

Thanks a bunch!

And sorry for not explaining why sandstorm was banned. I didn't had time that hour.

Not a problem.

Honestly, the UU changes made me horribly mad, since now i cant go on any of my favorite tiers without rain roaming at every corner, since UU got its best set-upper back: Tornadus. And bye Mienshao, we now have a poke that only outspeeds but also is give an opportunity to set up rain AND spam hurricanes, and meloetta isnt doing it any favors either. Talking about UU, WHAT THE HELL? why is ambipom the mostly used lead, do people even read the smog, or are they just trying to troll use, oh well i guess better for my quilfish to set up spikes.

Meh i dont play tiers behind UU, so amoongus staying in NU isnt that big of an issue, but im genuinely surprised stoutland dropped, ive seen a LOT of that thing in OU lately and i was expecting it to rise.

Thanks for the stats man!

Also, when judging usage stats, I don't think people take into consideration that you only use 6 Pokemon at a time and people like to use and build off the same team for a while.

Also, with teambuilding, you never have to stay in against something (unless your trapped, of course.) People tend to worry about every threat every battle. People play like everything has 7 attacks.

My reaction to September OU Stats
| 1 | Politoed | 18.599% |

By-and-large unsurprising. People seem to hype Rain too much for Politoed not to be #1.

| 7 | Tyranitar | 14.059% |
| 13 | Ninetales | 10.861% |

However, the primary weather-setters from Sand and Sun, respectively, also gain more popularity despite Rain being overhyped.

| 19 | Alakazam | 8.632% |

Mild, pleasant surprise
Alakazam Top 20?
I would never guess.

| 22 | Volcarona | 8.217% |

Volcarona deserves to be higher on account of being usable in almost all weather settings. However, where it is at currently is way better than it was last month, last I checked.

| 32 | Landorus | 6.841% |

I'm going to let this drop to UU, honestly. Landrous-T is better in near every way, with Sand being the only playstyle in need of Landorus-I.

| 43 | Magnezone | 5.392% |
| 46 | Landorus-Therian | 5.087% |
| 48 | Celebi | 4.864% |

Some of the best Stallmons still hanging in there. All of them are definitely better than Chansey, at least.

| 53 | Hippowdon | 3.604% |
| 54 | Abomasnow | 3.592% |

I'm glad neither of these Pokes dropped to UU. I would be really disappointed in the OU metagame if they did.

My reaction to September UU Stats
| 1 | Heracross | 21.189% |
| 2 | Chandelure | 19.839% |
| 3 | Roserade | 17.024% |

Still the Top 3 Pokemon. Roserade dropping a bit is disappointing; then again, I didn't get to play much on PS! last month.

| 5 | Bronzong | 16.038% |
| 6 | Snorlax | 14.043% |
| 7 | Blastoise | 13.980% |

To those saying defensive teams aren't that good in UU: these Pokemon manage despite all the "Hyper Offense" Pokemon running rampant. I'm more surprised that Blastoise is still in the Top 10 despite Roserade's presence making its job arduous.

| 10 | Hitmontop | 12.736% |
| 13 | Ambipom | 11.760% |

Neither of these Pokemon are good in the UU metagame; why are they sitting so high in the stat usage, then? Use Mienshao instead to replace either of them; he is better than Hitmontop at being a Fighting-type attacker (Hi-Jump Kick is too good a move), and better than Ambipom at hit-and-run (especially because of Regenerator).

| 19 | Crobat | 10.467% |

It's so anti-meta I don't grasp why it isn't in BL already. Then again, I say the same about Snorlax and Roserade.

| 28 | Milotic | 8.503% |

*Rammus accent*
Everyone does your job better.
Everyone.

Here is a list of better Pokemon than Ambipom, all of them viciously underrated. To be honestly, all of these Pokemon also counter it in some way, shape, or form (even Dusclops!). Then again, every Pokemon below Ambipom in the usage stats counters/outclasses it.

| 52 | Cofagrigus | 4.019% |

YES! YES! YES!

Now it just needs to skyrocket in usage. I get the feeling Tornadus-I and Virizion might make this hard, but nevertheless it's another Pokemon who's better than Ambipom and Dusclops.

My reaction to September RU Stats
| 1 | Cofagrigus | 17.629% |

Not anymore, you're not! Enjoy your promotion, bud!

| 11 | Sandslash | 11.623% |

Kabutops and Cryogonal are better Rapid Spinners. So is anything other than Wartortle, tbf.

| 19 | Hitmonlee | 9.907% |

Okay. Didn't you use to be eligible for promotion to UU? What happened? You're infinitely better than Hitmontop, last I checked.

| 24 | Rotom-Mow | 9.086% |

This Pokemon makes the best Taco Storms in RU. Seriously, why isn't this in BL2 yet? Or even #1 in stat usage?

| 29 | Electivire | 8.287% |

Give me a moment to scream like a banshee in utter horror at this being above Whimsicott, Escavalier, and others in usage.

| 32 | Hitmonchan | 8.117% |

Give me another moment to scream like a banshee for the exact same reasons.

| 55 | Rhydon | 3.865% |
| 56 | Roselia | 3.732% |
| 57 | Munchlax | 3.719% |

Allow me to point out that the only NFE worth using in RU is Scyther. The remaining ones, all of whom I've listed already, are too situational for the RU metagame, either due to limited use or overdependence on Eviolite to function well for a role better-suited to someone else. Fortunately, Metang isn't restricted to RU and up anymore, so I don't need to include him amongst the list of stats to prove a point.

My reaction to September NU Stats
| 3 | Absol | 12.276% |

I'm disappointed this didn't make it to RU. Glad it's not in BL2, though. I get the feeling it would've wound up there if it landed in the tier successfully.

| 43 | Wartortle | 4.526% |

While most of the stats are the same/similar, I will point out the dropping of Wartortle in usage to be a positive thing. Now it just needs to be in PU where it belongs, and we're all good here.

| 55 | Piloswine | 3.490% |

I remember people hyping this. I wonder if its low usage is due to the hype being excessive.

| 56 | Kangaskhan | 3.432% |

Well this is... surprising, at least. Hopefully Kangaskhan makes an impact on NU at all!

Also, could someone explain to me why people are saying that Mienshao is going to have problems in the new meta?

It took over a year for it to drop from OU, where Mew, Virizion and Tornadus were roaming free.

Tornadus-I either won't have access to accurate hurricanes, or it won't be scarfed, in which case Scarf Mienshao outspeeds and does 94% minimum with Stone Edge (Jolly vs. 0/0 neutral defense). If Mienshao isn't scarfed, then yeah, it's forced to switch out, but with rocks up, Tornadus will be losing quite a bit of health following Mienshao around, while Mienshao will be recovering from any entry hazard damages thanks to Regenerator. Also note that LO Jolly Fake Out does 24% minimum. That's health our genie won't be getting back. Tornadus *really* needs good recovery, IMO, and GameFreak decided not to give it access to Roost (that's why Regenerator Tornadus-T is so potent).

But hey! Maybe I'm missing something?

As much as I like Mienshao, it's kinda hard for Mien to handle this. It isn't just Torn-I; Mew and Mel have come along, and I'm pretty sure Pirouette Meloetta is superior to Mienshao stat wise, not to mention it has a near identical movepool. (Though Mienshao's Regenerator is neat). Also, what if you send in a Ghost-type? If you're in Hi Jump Kick you're done for. And Mienshao can't break most Ghost-types except maybe Chandelure and Froslass. Cofagrigus and Dusclops are both very bulky and can take anything from Mienshao all day. Mienshao is also complete setup fodder for Mismagius. Again, the old Crobat, Slowbro, and Sableye counter it, but they're admittedly not doing much. That's possibly my best explanation on why people are theorizing Mienshao dropping to RU/Not being able to handle this new meta. But maybe I'm missing something, or even something in my explanation is inaccurate.

Not needing to set up gives Mienshao an easy edge on Meloetta. Even if Meloetta can do some similar things, it Mienshao has a huge enough advantage from that to easily stand out.

Yeah, I guess. Mel needs that signature move to swap forms. Mien can just Fake Out and then spam Hi Jump Kick.

And maybe Mienshao could be like Escavalier. We thought he would drop down to NU thanks to the myriad of Fire-types, and Escav merely tickles Steelix. But guess what; He's Top 40! So perhaps Mienshao will be able to stay UU if it is able to.

This is extremely over-dramatic imo. Yes, he's probably about 40 places higher in the usage list than he really should be, but he's not the worst Pokemon in UU (there's hundreds of Pokemon worse in UU than Ambipom).

I meant by worst Pokemon in the UU tier (who gets enough usage to be UU). Things in the bottom of the usage chart are much worst than it.

| 59 | Absol | 1396 | 2.878% | 1096 | 2.738% |

I'm still pissed Absol didn't make it. This is all thanks to the teambuilder, fooling new players into thinking Absol can't be used in RU (which is also why dropdowns like Escavalier and Mienshao fell into disuse).

Well, hope for next round he rises up. I would say "Good Riddance" if Absol ever leaves NU.

| 50 | Zoroark | 6916 | 4.933% | 1218 | 1.048% |

Now I know I asked this before, but does anyone have an idea why there is such a huge difference between Zoroark's Actual Use and Real Use?

| 61 | Cinccino | 1340 | 2.763% | 1115 | 2.785% |

This little guy needs ALOT more love than it's getting

| 28 | Electivire | 4086 | 8.425% | 3287 | 8.211% |
| 35 | Whimsicott | 3669 | 7.565% | 3130 | 7.818% |

Okay, these two are extremely overrated and I think they deserve to be NU. They were vastly overhyped in OU in their respective introductions in DP and BW, respectively, but now they're one tier away from being in the tier where they belong. These two should stop being used, really.
