So is it me or is there no legendary trio thats being introduced in this gen? Obviously there are the cover legendaries, but there has always been a legendary trio with 580/600 BST introduced every generation.
Why introduce them in-game when GameFreak can save them for events? Given how popular Keldeo was (as a member of a legendary quadro), I can easily see them dropping in an entirely event-based trio.

Also, Zygarde makes the cover legendaries a full trio.

So... Do we know for sure how Megas are going to be banned, Tier-wise?

- I think the best option would be to allow Megas in OU, since it's limited to 1 anyway, and have it banned in the lower Tiers.
- Or, Add a new, "Mega Tier" between Ubers and OU that is practically OU+1Mega, since allowing Megas in OU would pretty much force everyone to have one, which ruins diversity.
- Or, Suspect Testing Megas and seeing if they belong in Ubers and OU.

But, slightly more on-topic: Does anyone know if Pokemon-Amie bonuses carry over into PvP Battles?

I'm in favor of the Mega-Tier, but I think we'll probably get suspect testing.

They do not.

Well first off people knew about Keldeo when the game was released since it was in the Pokedex so it wasn't a surprise or anything. It was just a matter of when Keldeo was going to be made available.

And secondly, that is why i specifically mentioned there is a cover legendary trio and there is a lack of 580/600 BST legendary trio...

You mentioned the cover legendaries, so I thought you might have just meant the duo, not knowing about Zygarde. So I wanted to be sure to point that out.

Also, wasn't Keldeo known from being hacked from the Pokédex? With no way to hack the 3DS, there could very well (in fact, I will go so far as to say there definitely ARE) event legendaries in it that we don't know about.

Megas are nothing more than inbattle transformations, exactly like meloetta's relic song and castform's forecast. They are not and should not be treated as separate pokemons. If a mega evo proves to be broken then item can simply be banned (like lati@s soul dew was).

Does anyone know of a good place to setup Smeargle sets in X and Y? I know he can copy moves from allies in a Double Battle, but I'm wondering about the location of repeatable Double Battles where a Smeargle can survive long enough to learn some new moves.

Hey there, everyone. I have decided to start breeding in-game so that I have my team on a 3DS as well rather than always go to Showdown\Online for competitive play. However, I am fairly new at this, although I understand the basics, so I'm going to make a rather long series of questions that I would appreciate some help with.

First things first, I understand IV calculators are more accurate once the Pokemon has reached a significant level. Which level would that be? 15? 20? I doubt it would be able to properly calculate the IVs at anything below 10.

Second, if I use the EXP share and defeat Pokemon with another Pokemon, would the EVs be passed to the newborn? This question goes hand to hand with the first, because if they don't earn EVs from EXP share experience alone, I can simply defeat a high level Pokemon to have them gain at least 10 levels, making the process significantly easier. If they DO earn EVs however, then what is the best way to level them up without earning EVs? Rare candies aside unless there happens to have a consistent source of them in-game I don't know about. Also, since this goes hand to hand with EV training, I take the Super Training app is the best way to gain EVs now? I just punch out the bag, get the bags for the stats I want, have the Poke punch them out, and repeat until they have the EVs I want? Is there a way to check how many EVs each stat has in numbers or do you have to take notes on a paper?

Lastly, what is the best way to make sure your Pokemon acquires maxed out IVs on the stats you desire? As an example, I am trying to breed an adamant Riolu with 31 IVs on attack and speed. Is there any way to make sure I get these IVs other than praying the RNG guide is not gonna be an asshole? I understand this question might be answered in the breeding guide, but I believe I have heard the breeding mechanisms changed slightly in gen 6 or something? Thus there might have something of importance I should know not listed there.

Forgive me if this is the wrong thread, considering some of these questions are rather huge(and thus might not fall under the 'simple questions' category).

How do dual type moves interact with Kecleon's abilities (both of them) as well as type effectiveness and STAB?

From using my Hawlucha, it seems that the primary type is what is checked for all interactions besides effectiveness. So with Flying Press, fighting types get a STAB with it, but Flying don't.

Kecleon would see it as just being a Fighting move.

But a Fighting/Dark would take 4x damage from it. (Not 100%) A pure Steel type takes neutral damage. (100% sure on this)

I'm not 100% on this though.

Does Sweet Veil work in single battles?

Also, how do the base stats Serebii posted compare to the ones calculated by the data miners?

It seems that egg moves can be passed down by both parents, so you should be able to bass Drain Punch first and then breed with a pokemon knowing Amnesia to get both.
Great! So let me just get this straight before I waste all of my time. I could pass Amnesia down from male Psyduck or Bidoof or whatever, then breed the female Scraggy with a male Mienfoo for Drain Punch and the offspring would have both Amnesia and Drain Punch?

Okay I got a couple of questions. First one, where do you unlock the various hair styles you can get?

Secondly, where do I get Heart Scales?
Hair styles are in a salon-type place in Lumiose.

Heart Scales...they're scattered in Rock Smash-able rocks. I found some near Ambrette Town, for example.

I know that, but how do you unlock more styles? I've noticed people who had different styles.

Thanks. That makes things much easier.

On the Heart Scale question there's a better way then Rock Smashing for Heart Scales. First get the Tm Thief in Camhier Town and the Old Rod in Ambrette Town. Learn a pokemon Thief and make sure it holds no items, then start fishing in Azure Bay as you will only get Luvdisk, which has a 50% of holding a Heart Scale.

Restaurant Le Nah, the 1-star restaurant in Lumiose, has level 10 Pokemon in Double Battles.

1. The higher the better. The IV guy in the Pokemon Center in Kiloude City also helps narrow it down. He will tell you the sum total of the IVs (decent, above average, superior, outstanding) as well as mention the highest IVs. 31 IVs "can't be beat" and he will tell you all of them. Otherwise, they will be "fantastic" going down. Checking the characteristic of the Pokemon also pinpoints one highest IV.

2. I believe Exp. Share gives the full EVs to each Pokemon that receives experience. Super Training is a way to EV train, but I think Pokerus + Power items + battling is still faster, especially with the advent of horde battles. If you save and then use a reset bag, it will tell you how many EVs were wiped (or so I've read. I haven't used it).

3. You can give your example Riolu a Power Anklet to pass on the perfect speed IV with 100% certainty. Another Power item on the other parent will make passing each 50%. We don't know the finer details of breeding mechanics changes.

I hope that helped.

So, never-melt ice now says "repels heat effects and boosts ice type moves"

has what the new addition means been tested

Ah, that helps a lot, thanks. Guess battling is still the most efficient way to EV train after all. One last question since you mentioned that Power Ankle on the last part: If I were to give the mother an everstone and the father a Power Ankle, would I get both the speed IVs AND the Adamant nature(if the mother is Adamant)?

Yes, you would have the father's speed Iv and the mother's nature.
