Why was Blissey considered superior to Chansey in Gen V, when in Gen VI, Chansey is considered superior to Blisseh?
In Gen V with the weather wars, Sand and Hail were way more common, which gave Blissey an edge over Chansey since Blissey had access to passive recovery that allowed it to brush off Hail and Sand damage. However, in Gen VI Hail teams died and Sand, while still viable, is less common than it was last gen. Thus, Blissey's passive recovery is not nearly as important, which makes Chansey, with its superior bulk, a better option than Blissey.

I have a question, I wanted to revive my old Tyranitar by breeding a 5IV with DD. Thing is I can get it adamant but not jolly atm. I have male Haxorus (5IV with DD and Outrage, adamant nature) and an ordinary larvitar. I see at the competetive dex that it would run Jolly's but is Adamant also good? I mean it obviously hits harder but Jolly get atleast some speed when he gets jolly. So is it really better to run jolly on Tyranitar or Adamant is also good because it hits very very hard.

What is the difference between a soft check and a hard check?
Iirc, a soft check can only check a specific set of a given pokemon species, a hard check can check every (common) set.
E.g. SD Mega Mawile is a soft check to non-LO Excadrill, as Earthquake fails to OHKO after Intimidate whereas +2 Sucker Punch is a guaranteed OHKO. If Excadrill has Life Orb though, Earthquake is an OHKO so then Mawile can't check it.
On the other hand, Talonflame is a hard check to Breloom, as Brave Bird is a guaranteed OHKO and it doesn't matter what set Breloom is running, for obvious Gale Wings reasons.

Could be slightly off, but considering a hard counter counters any set of a given pokemon species (e.g. Mega Venusaur for Azumarill), I guess this applies to checks as well.

Jolly is needed to outpeed greninja at +1 you can get it by letting haxorus hold the destiny knot, on larvitar itemless in the daycare

Hmm, so Jolly really is needed? if not I still got my Jolly Cinccino and since it can outspeed greninja if it holds a choice scarf?

A hard check can switch into multiple moves, and ko or force the checked Mon out (talon can swicht into bullet seed or mach punch on breloom) a soft check could be. Keldeo, as it can switch in with a free switch, and ko with icy wind, but it is koed by a bullet seed, two mach punches (with prior damagde) and rock slide + bullet seed, meaning it'll have a hard time switching in.

I would like to use the new Event Jirachi I recently obtained. It is Timid nature. This is what I was thinking.

Jirachi w/ Leftovers
Timid nature
252 Speed, 252 SpAtk, 4 HP
-Psyshock
-Moonblast
-???
-Calm Mind

I am having trouble deciding on a fourth move. I want to use Moonblast even if better options are available. Psyshock is for pink blobs and CM is CM. I could use any help I can get.

Perhaps flash cannon, thunderbolt, or shadow ball? There's unfortunately not much else for a Gen 6 Jirachi.

Hey, my favorite pokemon is Altaria, and I want to breed a shiny one in my X/Y game to transfer over to OR/AS. I'm hoping that Altaria will get a mega evolution, and if not, that's okay too because a shiny altaria would be great. Anyway, I was wondering if I should breed hyper voice from Hydreigon onto Altaria in the rare event that mega altaria gets pixilate as its ability. Also, I'm wondering which nature I should pick. I like Modest or Timid because of Altaria's great special coverage, but I could also see careful or calm working if it's used as a dragon dancer or supportmon. Thanks :)

I doubt it will get pixilate. It is Dragon/Flying, not Fairy, after all. But you never know, so if you're willing to breed Hyper Voice onto it, then go for it, because you can always run a different set and re-teach it Hyper Voice with the move relearner if the need arises.

EDIT: As for nature, it all depends on what you'll be using it for. For offensive it probably wants Timid for that extra speed, but Modest probably wouldn't be that much worse. For support, if you're running cotton guard, go calm or careful. If not, go bold or impish.

I think you should wait a week or two, as CoroCoro's "mega evolution scoop" should be out by then, and if altaria does get a mega, there's a good chance that it'll be revealed in that.

Steel STAB is one, but there are plenty of better options seeing most fairies are specially bulky, namely florges, sylveon, gardevoir etc. Water pulse gets ground and fire types good, something that would threaten a bulky CM set, but it isn't a TM now apparently ;-; Moonblast is an amazing offensive type, and has a boosted chance by serene grace to drop SpA so you can't leave that out. Putting a filler move instead of CM such as SR or U turn for momentum is viable as well. It can even run wish as a team support move.
I've just listed options off the bat, but in my opinion, I'd put Thunderbolt or Shadow ball Flash cannon (thanks Pyritie ) Damn, I wish it were adamant or jolly.

EDIT: Noteworthy that flash cannon allows it to possibly force out blissey/chansey, who wouldn't like too many SpD drops.

Moonblast on jirachi is really fucking good because it now has a 60% chance to lower the opponent's SpA. Almost all of its other special coverage moves have a chance to drop other stats (mostly SpD) so that's pretty cool as well. (Flash cannon and shadow ball now have a 20% and 40% chance to lower SpD, respectively)

gliscor jolly, 252hp, 252speed, 4def toxic orb
Substitute
Stealth rock
Earthquake
Baton pass

charizard @ charizardite x, evs 252 atk, 183 spatk, rest speed naughty
HP ice/thunderpunch
Flare blitz/fire blast
Outrage/dragon claw
Dragon dance

Takes the sub from gliscor and goes totown. After two DDs very few will be able to outspeed/survive an attack. Hp ice for dragons/gliscor/lando/other bulky grounds Fire blast for skarmory. Outrage may be am
poor option, but once faires are gone, you can spam it and nab some important KO's you would otherwise lose out on
Garchomp @ choice scarf naive 252 atk 252 speed
Fire blast
Outrage
Earthquake
Thunder fang

Great revenger there to clean up what charizard couldn't kill. Even thunder fang can finish off a weakened azumarill/togepiss. Outrage over dragon claw because with scarf he needs the extra damage, and with team preview you should be able to smell a fairy from a mile away

Scizor @ choice band adamant 252 atk, 252 HP 4 Spd
Bullet punch
U-turn
Superpower
Iron head

Fairy counter

Clefable @ LeftoversMagic Guard Bold 252 HP 252 Def 4 SDef
cosmic power
stored power
charge beam
softboiled/wish

Good synergy w/ dragons and steels, 1 cosmic power under yer belt then charge beam up and rack up that stored power. Might do more of a team support set

OR

Azumarill @ sitrus berry 252 atk, 252 speed 4hp
Knock off
Aqua jet
Play rough
Belly drum

Im leaning towards azu as the fairy on my team. I don't want two gays

Gyarados @ rocky helmet
Intimidate 248 HP 252 Def 8 SpD
Impish Nature
Waterfall
Roar / Dragon Tail
Rest
Sleep Talk

My favorite set from gen 4 with some new toys, basically this is a core with Ferro covering each others weaknesses perfectly and racking up damage

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers 252 HP 48 Def 208 SDef relaxed nature
Leech Seed
protect/spikes
Power Whip
Gyro Ball

Leech seed then sponge all day long with protect giving you a free turn of leftovers/leech seed. STAB moves are necessary

Looking for an opinion on this team. Checks/counters, move/pokemon replacements and whether or not its good as a whole or should I scrap it

Personally, I'd use Azumarill since it has good synergy with MegaZardX and Ferrothorn. For a more in-def analysis, you should post in the RMT forum here. Just make sure to elaborate on the roles of each Pokemon (see the RMT Forum posting rules here before posting). Some quick notes:
1) Thunder Fang is not good on Garchomp. Anything it hits super effectively cam be hit with either Earthquake or Stone Edge for the same amount of damage.
2) Stored Power Clefable has a really long set-up time. Most players (I believe) prefer Calm Mind over Stored Power so it doesn't take as long for Clefairy to be able to do damage. It would also allow you to swap Charge Beam for Moon Blast so you can get past Mons that resist Stored Power and are neutral or resistant to Charge Beam

So, is there a pokemon that can switch in and beat Hydreigon 1v1 while also luring and beating Rotom-W? I've noticed my team has an issue with these two. Something defensive would be better than something offensive, as it would need to switch into Hydreigon. Wish Passing is available so it doesn't necessarily need reliable recovery.

clefable can do that i guess, just not luring in rotom... but beating it

I've got things that can beat Rotom if it sticks around, but it doesn't really ever stick around, which is why I asked for something that could lure it.
