Your point was fallacious to begin with. Look, I really don't have much to say about the sequels to Killzone 1 but you aren't going to sway me by appealing to popularity or authority.
Nothing was fallacious. Simply defending a series of games, most of which you haven't played, so that others won't be mislead by such statements. Don't have to toss out irrelevant vocabulary.

I didn't say I hadn't played them, I just agree with Swag's assessment. It's not much to say about a series of games, but it's more than "these got INSERT scores on metacritic", which only tells me that none of the dev team was arbitrarily fired today. Probably.

Just dropping review scores isn't an argument, it's an appeal to someone else's authority, which is one of the more common logical fallacies. So yes, fallacious.

Killzone is kinda like the Flo Rida of video games. It makes money, has some fans, and everyone else just ignores it until it butts into Playstation All-Stars with its guest verse and then we are all like "the fuck is this guy doing here?"

Assuming $429 and $529 are the rumored prices (which I hope they are) I'd expect the $429 version to include all but the playstation eye camera and a smaller HDD. $529 SKU could also include some other services such as a 6-month trial of PS+ (or other subscription service). I'm very excited that both PS4 and Durango are using x86 architecture are this should make PC ports much better than what we've seen in the past.

If all this works out I can totally see myself going PS4 + Wii-U (once it has games or a price cut) + PC for this gen. I could easily abandon Microsoft as GoW is not what it used to be. And quite frankly, despite having (a rumored 4) new IP's in development they struggle with first-party titles. Not to mention I get tired of their shitty ads that they love playing on the dashboard. The 360 was (and still is?) a great system though that I will miss and have a lot of great memories with. :(

Edit: And maybe if Sony supports the Vita I may actually buy one? Just saying that it could be used for cross-play does not appeal to me. I want games, and right now, it doesn't have any. The 3DS is dominating it in nearly every aspect. It's a great platform but it doesn't get the support it deserves, even from Sony.

Used games are supported. (confirmed)

Harsh, lots of haters over here.

I actually don't get all the hype over Watch Dogs. I'll play it, but I'm not as excited for it as everybody else seems to be.

As far as features go, I'm really stoked on remote play. Like, really, REALLY, stoked. The seamless ability to pick up and play due to background simultaneous loading is really cool too. While I probably won't be uploading my own videos, I fucking love watching FGC streams, so hopefully that will make it even more accessible to everybody.

As far as games go, I'm most looking forward to Knack. I think we're going to see some really cool things from that new IP.

I was also very "meh" about Diablo III, but hopefully that will open the door for even more Blizzard titles in the future.

Final Fantasy ???... lol. That was a lot of build-up for no real new info.

I actually was really digging the Media Molecule demo and Quantic Dream's tech demo was amazing.

Overall I agree that it was way longer than it could have been. I felt like it was talking more to developers than consumers, frankly. Still, I'm really excited for what's to come. Also, I don't get why people need to see the console so badly. The capabilities should be all that matters. Besides, we need something to show at E3, don't we? :)

These were mostly my reactions.

Except for shouting "For the first time ever: 'x'" every time something was said.

"For the first time ever: Another Final Fantasy Game"
"For the first time ever: Diablo III"
"For the first time ever: Realistic looking bodiless old man heads"

etc.

Damn given the bitching it seems people give more of a fuck about how a console looks than what it does. Guess this is the Apple Generation.
guarantee if they just showed the ps4 everyone would complain about no game demos or specs

sony is laughing their asses off because they've just duped the entire internet, everyone is talking about the playstation 4 and hyping it, when all they did was talk about a portion of the stuff they've probably already worked on and finished

any publicity is good publicity, despite what angry video game nerds will tell you. get mad at sony - they want you to.

As someone who, for better or for worse, dumped a good 400 hours into Diablo 3... I feel rather shafted that I paid $60 to be a beta tester for a console game, on PC. Thank god for Path of Exile..

You seem to be using the word "fallacious" from a completely subjective standpoint. And if you're going to reference my argument from authority as fallacious at least try to be aware of what constitutes such an argument to be fallacious.

Dropping review scores is NOT my main argument. I explained why I personally think it's a good series and referenced an aggregation of dozens of professional critics who share my opinion with links to their reasoning behind why the series is good. It provides support to my initial claim. Please stop tossing around "fallacy," a word you seem to only be using because you think it's pretty.

And, finally, if you honestly think tossing out arbitrary phrases like "Killzone is kinda like the Flo Rida of video games.." is useful to any degree then I wouldn't reply to this at all since you have nothing important to add.

Not buying into hate or hype yet, but this is, uh, interesting.

Definition Of Insanity: PSN Purchases, Game Saves Won't Transfer To PlayStation 4

Sony: PSN purchases don't carry over to PS4

The Forbes article is a lot more bleak and it blows my mind that people are cancelling PS+ subscriptions early at the first sign of trouble. The news itself is disappointing if its true that Gaikai can't stream them over, but even then to me its like keeping my PS2 because my PS3 can't play its games and keeping my N64 because the Gamecube couldn't either.

I had a feeling PSN stuff wouldn't carry over to PS4 since PS3 backwards compatability is out, but I hope the PSN store for the PS3 stays up for a couple more years at least. I think it will, but I have to admit, the thought of a lot of games being lost forever because of a store shutdown does scare me... it really sucks for historical preservation!

Otherwise, the fact that used games are confirmed to work AND not needing to be always online to function means that I think I'll pick up the PS4 sometime in the near future. Maybe launch since I've been saving up for the 3 new consoles and two portables (that I already have) for about 4 years :P

The fuck is a share button?

Not liking the way those L2/R2 buttons look.

the share button is actually pretty cool

you basically hit that to stream/record/share gameplay, as i understand it

compare that to how streaming works atm for pc gamers with hosting and whatnot, and it's a neat idea

not sure that it will be anything like as smooth as that sounds (how do i choose between livestreaming? does hitting share start recording? they made out on stage like you hit it after the fact to share something you've just done, but that doesn't sound very feasible...) but it is interesting to me at least in terms of direction

"that's why we made a game about superheros"

lol those were exactly my thoughts. woah, intense and interesting social commentary on privacy concerns? and that leads us to... superheros.

you're saying you don't get patches for free ?_?

"We really would like it if you buy a PSVita" haha

Ok so, the Share button is to record/stream your shit?, that's pretty awesome. Now we just need a price so I can laugh at the people who buy it just to play the newest PES/Fifa (that may sound retarded for some of you, but trust me, here some people actually do that)

are you even allowed to be anything but 100% hyped for a sony console
