I'd imagine that 5th gen will start with all non-legendaries and legendaries with BST below 600 allowed, and legendaries with 670+ BST are probably banned, unless they're like Regigigas. 600 BST generally get evaluated case-by-case. Mew, Darkrai, and Deoxys are likely to remain in Ubers, but the others are up for grabs, and any new 600 BSTs will have to be evalutated. Hopefully the OU list will be as inclusive as is reasonable.
Oh, it's possible Wobb and maybe even Wynaut will start out banned, but as we all know, they're kind of an exception to, well, everything.
I was hoping for some non-U-turn, widely distributed field move that prevents trapping your opponent.
Then again, that won't help all too much since the blue people can just switch in on something they presume
doesn't have this special attack. So that's a killed strategy.
Erm, I've been browsing the new updates on Serebii and Filb... and Wooguru (or however the fuck it's spelled) looks like a bad-ass Normal/Flying type.
I think we should go to /b/ (or whoever made the story) and change shiny Pidgey to shiny Wooguru.
Hey I just thought of something - the Abilities Plus and Minus will be a lot better in tripple battles. Say you have one Pokemon with Plus and two with Minus: at the very least both of the Pokemon with Minus should get 50% boost in Special Defense. The interesting question is whether the two Minuses will stack, i.e., will the Pokemon will Plus get two 50% boosts in Special Attack. This would be more than a + 2 Boost, it would be a 2.25 boost (1.5 * 1.5 * Original Special Attack). Plusle with 663 Special Attack (605 if Timid) before LO or Specs sounds pretty dangerous. And if we're lucky Gear will evolve and keep those abilities, giving us a better Pokemon (or at least a greater variety of Pokemon) to execute this strategy.
Also I've been looking over some of the old Pre-release pictures and I'm starting to think Hihidaruma is NFE. On its own it looks pretty big and intimidating, but it's only like 4 ' 3 " tall! You'd think a big flaming gorilla would be at least 6 feet tall. Also it's pretty light, and in the triple battle picture where it appears with the mole and the Zebra, its Sprite is rather small (though this could just be because of the camera, but it's still about the same size as the two other NFEs).
I was hoping Gear's evo would be mono-Steel with Levitate, but Pokemon can't have three abilities (to our knowledge), and I most likely will be sad faec.
However, your strategy is killed by anything faster than Plusle/Minun that has Earthquake. Because unless Gear's evo has a bunch of Defense, most likely all three of your Pokemon will be killed with a fast EQ.
This has been on my mind for a few hours now.
Everybody knows who or what Wooguru is. Now its ability is Encourage which increases his attacks but stops secondary effects. Now the question is recharging for a move like Giga Impact thats a secondary effect isnt it?
This is the description for Giga Impact
The user charges at the foe using every bit of its power. The user must rest on the next turn.
Plus on Serebii they count the recharging for a secondary effect but Im not too sure that it is true because Serebii don't have everything right such as they don't have Flare Blitz able to burn.
I was trying to come up with a definition for what a secondary effect is, and this is what I came up with. Although, it's the opposite; the sentences shows what is not a secondary effect.
If you cannot prevent the effect(s) of the move happening, it is built in to the move and it not a secondary effect.
You cannot prevent the recharge turn for Giga Impact by any means, except via a Gen V Item or Ability, meaning that the recharge turn is not a secondary effect.
For something like confusion from Outrage, that is considered a secondary effect because you can stop it via Safeguard, or some status prevention move that isn't an Item or Ability.
Why we dislike the Sinnoh dex?
THREE Water/Ground types
THREE Water/Flying types
ONE Fire type (Not accounting the starter)
A LOT of completely useless stuff (Mothim, Pachirisu, etc etc)
A LOT of pokes that were too hard to count for the results they yield (Wormadam? Vespiquen? Please...)
That might help.
I don't dislike the Sinnoh Dex. :/
Add to your reasons that they made like 12 legends, the most in any generation. I don't know why people despise legends in a Dex (except Regigigas, he was just fucking filler), but the majority of people hated Gen IV for the random legends. Although most had a half-decent backstory. I know Darkrai did. :3
