Yeah Hawaii is confirmed. They said which island too I think, but I can't find the site.

But ahah I'm so ready for this. I'm taking it upon myself to match Shoe's performance and perhaps even do better. And I think... I can do it. It all depends on what the rules are. And I have a sneaky feeling that, given the recent speculation of a March HGSS release in the US, Europe will be using Platinums and perhaps 09 rules. Which, as it happens, I've found an excellent team for.

I want to make a vgc 2010 team but I have no idea where to start. I can't rng to save my life either. what do I do? I think I have a team in mind already...

I belive the world championships will be held in Hawaii this year, but I am unsure of which city or even which island they will be located at.

i think that it's in Kona, but i don't remember...

a quick visit to the TPCi web site would lead you to this....

It is in the Hilton Waikoloa Hotel and RESORT in Kona Hawaii. This is the same place it was at in 2007. The place is well worth the $3,000 a week stay. There is a boat that goes back and forth between the THREE TOWERS, and if you want to walk to the tournament or your hotel tower, you will see plenty of Japanese and Hawaiian art. There are several gift shops at the hotel, a VERY nice (and expensive) Japanese restaurant there as well as plenty of activity's to do at the resort - Like dolphin riding, snorkeling, and much more!

the reason they have all this AT the resort is because it is a 30 minute drive from the nearest town.

Some other attractions while you are there are the Lava tubes. They are VERY cool to go through.

Remember, food is not cheap in Hawaii - everything is imported there so you are going to pay $6 for a gallon of milk, and there is no $1 menu. It is a $3 menu.

I already have my vacation planned out. Hotel already booked, and checking daily for airfare prices.

BTW - if you book your hotel and such, and then win a trip - TPCI will reimburse you your hotel room and airfare money.

Pokesav or learn how to RNG, you've got a while to do the latter.

Since I'm too lazy to Google, is there a phone number? I'll have to wait to book a room, since I'll need to do the same for regional qualifiers (going the day before); I get the feeling Worlds is going to cost me at least $5,000...

Hilton waikoloa village:

When booking, ask for the "Pokemon world championships" rate. Every year Pokemon gets a special price for their rooms.

They did not have it set up when i booked, so i will try next month to see if i can change to the special rate.

it's kind of hard to rng when your trigger buttons are broken :p
but I could just emerald rng the legends or just synch and sr. I can't believe I didn't think of that...

I guess I'll go and try my luck on emerald.

Hmm. It's actually really good how they do that. I might, *might* consider going there even if I don't get a place but it'll be expensive, I know that. It cost Shoe roughly £1,000 for his mum to go too, and that was at San Diego, so I expect Kona to be a lot more. Maybe. I'll just have to do my best at London.

a thousand pounds?!? That seems way too much for one person, the guest; for americans, that's translated to roughly $1600. I think that there was another person that came along with him (probably his father or a relative, I talked with them a tiny bit in SD), since he would have gotten a guest to go along with him, and if just "his mum" went with him, it should have been almost free. If a third, unpaid person went along, then it might cost that much. Approx. nightly rate of $180 * 5 nights = $900, then a flight would fill in the gap.

Of course, they could have just hunted around for a floor to sleep on like I did. Most people probably wouldn't do that though. :p

Your other option is to impress some chick with your jigglychus and pikapuffs and stay over at her place.

oh wait, I just remembered... YOU CANT SYNC TO LEGENDS IN EMERALD. isn't that great? this is going to be harder than I thought....

Yeah she was an extra, third person. He went with both parents, as a sort of family holiday thing. It was £750 just for her seat on the plane and I don't know what the hotel was but I would guess it'd end up at around £1,000 in total. So a lot of money really (and you have to remember, the flight from the UK was pretty much across the entire world and included a stopoff at Vermont I think it was). So it really is that expensive. Was pretty much free for his dad though naturally.

Also it isn't that bad that you can't synch in Emerald lol. Just find a low frame and keep trying.

As long as he took less than five people he wouldn't have had to pay extra for the hotel unless he specifically ordered a different room. I took my mother, father, and sister and only had to pay for two round-trip plane tickets, although they were over $800 in total and when we got to the hotel we had to share beds...

Doesn't match Electivire + Zapdos lead though. Yes I fought that at this year's VGC, yes I killed them both first turn and yes they were doing exactly what I expected them to do. :P

Really though I wouldn't recommend selfdestruct Mewtwo. Giratina though is good.

well, the rules might be annonced between Jan 1st and april 1st, since I heard that was the TPCi facebook thing. does anyone have the post that confirms Mike said by the end of the year though?

Umm...i started the facebook group. I just set up the days as a "Expect them between these days".

I will post info on the facebook group as soon as info becomes available to the public or when TPCi gives the green light to make info public.
