Ace :D

More locations... if anything I think they'll expand to Italy and Spain (properly), but it'd be really nice if they had European regionals. If it ends up north and south in the UK that'd be great news for me. The only person from here I'm aware of who lives within 50 miles or so of me is Havak, so I should manage to do well. And then there are the obvious travel benefits.

Well, they could also expand to Belgium or Holland, ofcourse.

Not likely though. Both are reasonably close to Paris or Berlin and I doubt they have a local Nintendo of Europe office. I said Italy and Spain in particular because they have Nintendo offices and their own translations of the games.

Netherlands to Berlin or Belgium to Paris is about the same distance of my Halifax to London, and on better roads, so it's not that bad.

hmmm interesting rules, i think a raindance team would flourish under them but yea shedinja would definitely be a problem
Everybody acts like it's hard to get HP Fire on Water Pokes??? It could be HP Fire 60> and still KO a Shedinja.

They go to paris and berlin but not canada which is right above america....wtf is this! People like in canada you know D:

Swift Swim Ludicolo with Ice Beam and Grass Knot is not that amazing as well as Shedinja does not always beat Rain Dance. Think of Toxic, Leech Seed and even Stealth Rock.
My experience from battling and from watching Japanese matches is that you can use certainly everything as long as there is a 'game-plan' and the team is well-played. Of course the metagame centralises around these Uber based strategies but overall there is a greater variety and diversity; you can use almost everything if you play it right.

If I'm not mistaken, you see your opponent's 6 before you choose your 4. So if you see Shedinja, you just make sure you have someone with Toxic around.

You are mistaken and you do not get to see any of your opponents Pokemon before the match, barring scouting.

@Tanner- No it's not like pokemon battle revolution

And on youtube I cant find a specific way to beat a choice scarf kyogre. Anyone have any ideas?

Rofl :D

No I live in the real Halifax lol. It's a few hundred miles to London from where I live.

Flail Zangoose does wonders.
:/

I recommend anything with fake out really. The main weakness of choice scarf kyogre is that if the first turn starts unfavourably, he can't really do anything. Groudon too is good but he still gets hit hard by even sunny water spout. But yeah fake out. Alternatively Quagsire but he sucks at fighting anything but Kyogre. Smeargle is probably the best fake out user. Or Ambipom/Hariyama if you're going offensive.

Also only (BAN ME PLEASE) do scouting. It's cheating. :P

It's not that hard. Without 252 in Def, it can easily be KO'd by heavy Physical moves. With the proper partner (Orbed Modest Ludicolo / Scarfed Timid Rotom), Brave 0spd Banded Groudon can take a Scarfed Waterspout in the sun and 1HKO back with TPunch.

It's not a Scarfed Kyogre, but in this vid I take out an auto rain team with a 2009 team.

And HP Fire is not a waste of a moveslot if you have no other Shedinja defence. Just ask Dr. Cossack. xD I don't think it would hurt to tell, but months ago he said he wanted to test a new RD team, so I put Shedinja on my team (just helping him find his weaknesses) and as soon as I brough it out, he "ran". He didn't have a thing to hit it. And remember #2 last year had a Sheddy on his team. :?

Hahaha, yeah, Cossack definitely doesn't like Shedinja. But I agree, if you don't have a way to touch Shedinja, you might as well use HP Fire on Kyogre, since it also hits Abomasnow. But iirc, you can't get 31 speed with HP Fire which means you'll lose the chance for a speed tie against most other Kyogres. Because of this I've used Ancientpower on my Kyogre, which has beaten a few Shedinjas. It also hits Rayquaza(If you're scarfed and can't switch to Ice Beam) and Abomasnow. Plus it has a 10% shot of bossting all stats ;)

Excelent alternative! :D

OH HEJ MY NAME IS ABOMASNOW. I CHANGE THE WEATHER TO HAIL AND RESIST WATER SPOUT. I ALSO HAVE STAB GRASS KNOT WHICH JUST SO HAPPENS TO FLIP KYOGRE OVER AND ATTACK IT'S WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE.

Honestly though, there are so many ways to beat CS Kyogre and friends it's not even funny. Other weather users such as Groudon, Abomasnow, Tyranitar, etc. all work wonders, as do Trick Room users like Dialga (who resists Water Spout). Rayquaza can be used to negate the weather effects as well, although I don't see him being of much use other than that. Priority moves can be used to dramatically weaken Water Spout's power (remember, Water Spout's BP is based off of Kyogre's remaining HP relative to his maximum HP). Fake Out could also work well provided that you hit Kyogre with your other pokemon as well on turn 1 (so as to weaken it enough to make an impact on the damage dealt by Water Spout, because Fake Out isn't going to alter it too much). The aforementioned Shedinja is absolutely destructive against Rain teams, especially if played well.

Does hail boost the power of ice type moves, just like rain boost water moves, and sun boost fire moves? I just checked the move desc. on smogon and it doesnt mention it...

No it does not as far as I know, but the lack of rain lessens the amount of damage from Water Spout. 100% accuracy Blizzard is never a bad thing, either.

That's why I started using Toxic Dialga. :)

The main problem with AncientPower/HP Fire/whatever for Shedinja killing is Sash - you'll need two turns. Toxic, Rocks, Hail/Sand all bypass the Sash. I may use a half stall/half goodstuffs team - Lugia, Mewtwo, Blissey, ?
