Pop star Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital in Los Angeles with a suspected cardiac arrest.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the 50-year-old singer was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home.
The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the UCLA medical centre, the newspaper says. Officials would not confirm if the CPR was successful.
The star was due to begin a series of comeback concerts with an appearance at London's O2 arena on 13 July.
He has a history of health problems and has not completed a concert tour in 12 years.
Michael Jackson's home is off Sunset Boulevard in Bel Air.
It was reported by celebrity website www.tmz.com that Michael Jackson fell into Cardiac arrest and died earlier this evening. It has been confirmed that he was rushed to hospital following a cardiac arrest but it has not been confirmed yet that he is actually dead.

This is basically on the front page of every news website. Rumours that he has already died are circulating although at this precise moment, it is unconfirmed.

Life sucks

More and more sources are confirming his death. Geez... 50 is no age for this...

Whatever the recent media attentions, MJ was a fantastic gift to music and the world will be a worse place for losing him. ;[

I find it really horrible that people are happy that he died. Despite questionable choices he was a fantastic artist and he should be remembered as one. Not only that but people shouldn't be happy at anyone's death, save for the most wrethed of people.

Eh, I can't say I really care. I never really listened to his music.

Like Jimbo I find it disturbing that people are celebrating his death.

I think it is perfectly acceptable if one finds pedophilia offensive enough and believes that he perpetuated such behavior to be happy that he is dead. I am not happy he is dead, but I do not think he deserves sympathy, bemoaning, the tribute that is already evidently coming by the fucking frenzy here and elsewhere, or any sort of particular revisionist history that makes the last 20 years of his life anything but a travesty. The man made himself into a freak show of a human being, so what do I care that it is one less freak show I have to hear people talk about (soon enough)?

This will do his flagging record sales a world of good. Whoever owns the rights to his music must be licking their lips.

Untimely death = free and invariably positive exposure.

RIP

Not happy of MJ's death but, his career was already dead, his life was nearly ruined, he was condamned for pedophily,...
If he died just after his greatest hits, he would have been a LEGEND, maybe greater than Elvis.

I've never been a great fan of MJ but his musics were really cool. RIP MJ.

Okay i may just be uninformed since i didn't pay attention during either trial, but wasn't MJ found innocent both times? Most people I talk to think that the prosecutors were just extortionists, which is kind of what i believe. I also heard his father was extremely abusive, and from what little i know about psychology, typically that would lead to what michael turned into.

RIP Michael, will always be the undisputed king of pop

Michael Jackson was a great dancer and singer. Even despite what people say he had done and such we should respect him.

I find it horrible that people are happy he died as someone said. Thats just sad.

R.I.P Michael Jackson. As well as Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett.

You assume, for some reason, that your policies for what demands respect ought to direct others' policy as well. If someone lost respect for Michael Jackson's plastic surgery folly, then that is perfectly valid. Someone making meaningful music does not make anything else about them meaningful, and it only demands respect if you decide that it does.

That is true but I just find it sad that some people are happy if someone dies.

I think the dead should be respected although those who have done things that are bad should or shouldn't be respected. It's a matter of opinion.

Its just a matter of opinion.

he made some great music back in the days, but over the years he turned more and more like a parody of himself. it's still a huge loss though
