My vote has to go to Ursaring in this one. I don't like either one's design more than the other, as even though I love bears in real life, Ursaring is too cartoony compared to real bears. So design, I could go either way.

However, as far as actual game play goes...Facade is one of my favorite moves, I just love the name, the concept, and the insane amount of power with STAB. And it looks like Ursaring was basically made for Facade. He has Guts and Quick Feet, two abilities that boost his stats when he is statused, and a STAB move that is boosted when he is statused...it's almost perfect, really. So for that, my vote goes to Ursaring.
 
URSARING.
He's badass,(sort of) useful competitively, and its pre-evo is one of the cutest mon ever. While Granbull is just a bulldog, it's not intimidating and far from being cute, how's it classified as Fairy Pokemon for Arceus' sake.

What he said. In addition, I'm a pretty big fan of bears, and Ursaring has truly incredible power behind his moves in competitive play (even Normal resists are taking a nice chunk of damage from Facade). What does Granbull have going for it? A nice support movepool.
So yeah, Ursaring wins without a doubt.
 
Whoever comes up with these matchups, please try to make them better matchups. It's obvious that Ursaring is gonna win :p Granbull is terrible.
 
Granbull is probably the single most forgettable Pokemon out there; it doesn't even have a reputation for being weak or gimmicky. I always liked Ursaring, though, so it gets my vote here

Sums up the reason for my vote perfectly.
This is all besides the fact that Ursaring actually lives up to his reputation. It's no exaggeration to say that he hits like a bear.

Ursaring

Granbull's design is ugly imo, and Ursaring is both a monster in battle and in design (it's a goddamn bear, what else is there to say?).

Also, have you seen my bear tibbers?
 
Guys, you can't say that Ursaring is completely powerful as a reason because:
Granbull - Normal | Intimidate/Quick Feet/Rattled (DW) | 90/120/75/60/60/45 | NU | Low Kick/Grass Knot: 60 BP
Ursaring - Normal | Guts/Quick Feet/Unnerve (DW) | 90/130/75/75/75/55 | NU | Low Kick/Grass Knot: 100 BP

Ursaring has 10 more base attack and more special defense, and is slightly faster. That is it.

Well, smogon is very unpredictable. I was thinking Granbull would win.
 
It has to be said to Granbull's defense, it isn't something you'd like to meet in a dark alley. It can scratch its forehead using its teeth, for Pete's sake. However, those teeth seems to be its only redeeming quality. Apart from striking its foe with them, it can't really do that much.

Ursaring, on the other hand, is one dangerous fellow. Standing almost two metres tall, it has arms as thick as telephone poles, tipped with claws the size of kitchen knives (as for how many claws it actually has, that seems to be the matter of some debate). Ursaring might not be fast, but it is faster than Granbull, and stat-wise it outclasses it all across the board. Yes, it has a ring on its stomach, presenting an obvious target. Said target is also located right in the middle between two strong legs, two giant, claw-adorned arms, and a mouth full of teeth. Trying to strike it would leave an opponent completely exposed to all of this. Otherwise, Ursaring is rather bland, tricking the enemy to focus on the ring. It's like a glowing spot on a video game boss, it's a very tempting spot to attack. However, nobody's saying that this spot is a weak one. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Voting for Ursaring.

You're surprised that Ursaring is winning by a landslide when it is contended with one of the ugliest and most forgettable pokemon ever? I think you're surprised by too many things man
 
Both are pretty shit. Bad typing, slow, not particularly bulky, only usable in NU. Their designs are nothing special either. I love dogs, but Granbull is not a likable one like Stoutland. Ursaring is just a bear with a yellow ring. Forgettable Pokemon so I'll just give it to the bear.

I showed you that their stats are almost the same.
Also ursaring is only good competitively as a quick feet variant (or trick room I suppose). He just gets outsped and killed with guts, and granbull has quick feet too.

But seriously, what is with the granbull hate!?
 
Ursaring not only looks more intimidating but the size of those arms look like one slash would be really dangerous. Also like how the marking on it's belly became a full moon when it evolved.

Granbull while I appreciate it more lately doesn't really compare. It's partly the weird proportions that makes me go for Ursaring more.
