Gardevoir

Clearly, for being an amazing Pokémon, that is just a piece of art. The mustached Alakazam cannot even touch Gardevoir's charms as a classy Pokémon.

Same opinion, but if you want more,

Gardevoir is just a beautifully elegant pokemon, while Alakazam is quite ugly.
Gardevoir has balanced stats and doesn't have have all Base Stat Points in two of its stats

I love Gardevoir as much as the next guy, but bros before hoes so I'mma have to go with Alakazam, what a bad ass.

Alakazam, the original badass Psychic Pokémon. You caught the elusive Abra, and while it required some babying, it was a monster once evolved. Then, you could trade it with a trusted friend, and it began kicking ass seven ways to Sunday, nuking its way through the game. While Alakazam might not have the most diverse level-up moveset out there (Recover and Disable stand out), it has everything it requires between Psychic and Recover.

That sweet IQ and awesome mustache doesn't hurt either. Alakazam is a 'mon that flings its opponents across the room, then convinces them to fling themselves back again, and then makes them apologize for making noise while doing so. It's the sort of Pokémon that does whatever it damn pleases.

Battle of the Psychic Traps it is then!

Alakazam is indeed the better pokemon, having Magic Guard, high Special Attack and Speed stats, and a movepool that's decent enough for it to do its thing. Gardevoir is more balanced compared to Alakazam and is no slouch either. In the end I will have to say Gardevoir as its more versatile, easier to get compared to Alazakam, and male Gardevoir are better than female Alazakam (short mustache wut?).

Damn, this one is tough. Both are awesome in different ways. Gardevoir is elegant yet powerful, and what Alakazam lacks in the beauty department he more than makes up for in sheer force and speed. I wish I could vote for both, but since I probably can't, I think that I'll vote for Alakazam. He is the original Psychic Pokemon after all (bar Mewtwo and Mew).

Gardevoir, for two reasons:
1) I was disappointed when I found out Alakazam lost the tail and markings he has as a Kadabra. One of the few pokemon whose preevos looks more badass (Dragonite comes to mind too)
2) When I first started playing Gen 3 I was immediately struck by the ugliness of many pokemon (the transition from the retro beeps to the trumpets was hard too) but the Mudkip, Ralts and Aron lines fully restored my faith

Plus, that elegance! That grace!
That new design! Nothing like Gardevoir up to #251.
Even the cry! Adds more to Gardevoir's elegange, whereas Alakazam's cry is just a pbvvVVvvVVssh... what?

Alakazam does get a couple bonus points for being a badass kinda-bad-guy in the early episodes with Sabrina.

Gardevoir Elegant, smooth, mysterious.
Those are three words to describe Snorlax

(The sentence that explains doesn't have to be related right)

This is another tough one as I like both designs. However I think Alakazam wins due to a trolly set that I use to use back in the days of Shoddy Battle (I think that's what it was called). It was basically Substitute, Encore, Disable to make the opponent struggle. T'was fun back in the day...

Gardevoir. What the heck are you Alakazam supporters thinking?

Alakazam has 5000 IQ, yet he is fucking stupid because

1. Even with that IQ he doesn't know what to do and relies on a stupid trainer's commands, which makes him even more stupid

2. As a female Alakazam I thought it's smart enough to shave its moustache, but no it's so stupid that's why it's fugly

3. It should be smart enough to not use two fucking spoons when eating, but it's so stupid it can't tell what a spoon is so it never uses those spoons for eating

Alakazam with 5000 IQ? More like -5000 lol

Alakazam; it's a cool mon that is generally superior to a mediocre psychic type that really, really blends in with the crowd.

Plus it runs through ingame rb at a wondrous pace.

Oh, and it caused GF to incur lawsuits from Uri Geller, which is hilarious.

Gardevoir

It's been one of my favorite Pokemon ever since I first got one in my first playthrough of Sapphire. I love Alakazam and love to use it competitively, but damn that design of Gardevoir is just so beautiful. And I love the pokedex entries about it being willing to do anything to protect it's trainer.

I'm a hopeless romantic I guess :S

Gardevoir is more aesthetically appealing, so it gets my vote. Yea...

Also, it's incredibly loyal to its trainer, which is a big plus. This means that it'll always guard me.

Hard vote as Gen 3 was the first I played, I'm going to have to go with Alakzam. While both were a pain to find , Alakazam was harder than Gardevoir ever was , 5% encounter rate + Teleport is just wrong. Having that Alakzam was one of the biggest achievements of RSE.

I like Gardevoir more, but when it comes to competitive battles, I'd go for Alakazam without hesitant.

As long as Alakazam is equipped with Focus Sash, teams without Trick Room or TailWind can be in doom already.
Moreover, Alakazam's speed is far higher than average.
