That is true. very strong attacks will KO it, though the same would be said as the other version. I wish it could have Metal Burst and Prankster recover. That would have been broken.

Question. Lagging tail would still let the priority moves go first right? So if you wanted to run Metal burst and always go last, but still go first with Priority moves, you would need lagging tail correct? that would have been an awesome set. Metal Burst, Recover, WoW/Confuse ray, shadow Sneak with Lagging tail and prankster.
 
You should also mention that Sableye is a good partner with ParaShuffler so Sableye could use substitute until he can get a free Recover, becoming a great PP staller, using this set:

It will probably be taunt since priority taunt is so good, but protect seems nice for stalling since I'll pair him with a toxic user. Sub/protect/recover can stall for either WoW or Toxic. Its a wonderful defence wall, paired with a blissey,chansey or such, it will be fantastic.

Oh and by the way, is there a way to get a DW Sableye atm? (north america)
 
No, not really. Sableye really doesn't have a free moveslot for metal burst, and it's not worth losing priority recover for.

Foul play or night shade? I use fould play with the standard taunt / WoW / recover, and it's fairly good. Are there any good reasons to use night shade?

It actually breaks stall with WoW & Taunt. Nothing can heal off the damage so Toxic isn't neccesary. Confuse Ray gets Sableye not only extra damage, but it gets a free turn to heal/taunt against anything.

Can't wait until we start seeing Excadrill running Substitute! xD
 
Best thing about Sableye, Alakazam and Volebeat is since it's late in the month, the releases won't affect their usage stats.

Which means these soon-to-be monsters are all in RU for the next round.

Going to make a team about laying shittons of hazards that will prove impossible to spin away then passing +3 to Alakazam now.

I wonder how Sableye fairs in VGC. Probably not well given its pathetic defenses, but a set consisting of Taunt, Confuse Ray, Will-O-Wisp, Detect might be annoying as all get-out.

Well that would probably be a good idea because +3 Alakazam with Psychic/FB/Shadow Ball/Energy Ball OHKO's everything in RU with rocks down except Cress SOMETIMES, Sableye ALSO SOMETIMES, and Mandibuzz. And that's only if they are max SpDef.

I'm loling.
 
So excited that I'm gonna be able to use DW Sableye really soon, I tried him out a bit on PO a while back, and I really like how he performed.

Probably my favorite release from this batch of DW Pokemon.

This is a metagame-breaker-set. With the fucking overcentralization of the mg, more than 75% of team abuse of Rain or Sandstorm. Do you know what can do a Rain Team during Sunny Day? I'm sure you know what. Even a Sandstorm, without SpDef boost for Rock-types and Sand Veil, will lose a lot of power. WOW allows Sableye to take how many physical damages you want, if the opponent has not Guts, and then use Recover. When you hold Sticky Barb, you will lose 12.5% of max HP each turn. If you use Trick and you get Leftovers, is a good thing. If you use Sunny Day and then Trick on Toxicroak, omnipresent, it will lose (more or less) 30% of HP. On 4 turns, without damage, it will be dead. Anyway, Sticky Barb takes down Focus Sash.

I think you will use a support set, because an offensive one, with 75 Atk, 65 SpAtk and 50 Spd, sucks
 
This thing is going to be SO legit now. I can see it rising to at least UU. Anyway, the above set^ looks really good. Priority W-O-W + Sunny Day will stop weather dead. However, the lack of Leftovers is something I don't think Sableye can afford tbh. I would run Leftovers + Nightshade over Trick, since it does decent damage without needing investment, and stops Sableye from being Taunt/ set up bait.
 
I also recommend the leftovers on Sableye, but I would say taunt over trick. Priority taunt is just too good to pass up, and without it, you can't stall out anyone with reliable recovery.
 
Yeah, Taunt seems like the best option. Stops Sun sweepers like Volcarona who would actually benefit from Sunny Day and can't be W-O-W'ed.
 
Can't waaaait! Btw, Nanoswine has a point xD. I'm not in RU currently, still learning how UU works but... damn... gotta take advantage of guys like Ala and Prankleye! But still, after this round will have passed, Ala will very probably end up in OU (at the least UU/BL), but I wouldn't really know for sableye... we can only await the results :D
