Hello! Originally founded in 2013 by stellar user Joim, the Scavengers Room on Pokémon Showdown hosts scavenger hunts of all topics around the clock. These question-solving games test the competitors' searching and solving skills as well as their knowledge. Users earn points from solving and creating these hunts to reach the top of our ladder cycles, held twice monthly.

The biggest point totals come from official hunts, led by room staff members and scheduled on this thread. Officials award points to all solvers, ranging from 30 points for the winner all the way on down to 2 consolation points for finishing outside of the top 6. The three fastest solvers of a conventional official hunt also have the opportunity to earn 10 extra BLITZ points if they finish within 1 minute of the hunt's start.

Officials also come in both larger and smaller varieties, with our large "special style" officials offering bigger point totals than normal, and our spontaneously hosted "mini" officials offering half the number of points at each placing as normal officials.

While official hunts are the top prizes, non-official hunts offer modest point totals for both their creators and solvers, and because these hunts are much more frequent, these points add up quickly.

As of the start of this thread cycles were biweekly, but starting in October 2023 they were shifted back to monthly.

The top players from each ladder cycle are recorded on this thread and and earn special mentions in the room itself. Any users who places top 5 in a cycle will receive a nomination for Room Voice.

January 2025 Twist: Skunked: There will be no official hunts this month. Instead, normal hunts give 10/5/3/2/1 bonus ladder points, and minis will give a bonus 15/10/7/5/3 points. Making a hunt will give 4 bonus points.

Solution:
1) (alphabetical for the whole hunt) If Pokemon could use Z-Moves multiple times without repeating, these two Pokemon which can evolve would be able to get +3 boost in all their stats in 3 turns or less. Ignore event move incompatibilities. [Eevee Pikachu]
2) According to Junichi Masuda, this Pokemon might have been the second mascot of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee instead of Eevee, but was rejected due to being the same color as Pikachu. [psyduck :(]
3) This is the minimum score possible in the Marine Capture Challenge if you capture a Psyduck. (numerical value) [3200 :)]

Solution:
1) In Pokemon Sword and Shield, there's an unused trainer class who has this character's model and texture wearing shorts and will be in T-pose stance when hacked into the game. [rose / chairman rose]
2) This Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield has a fully modeled and rendered inner body but can't be seen due to being covered by its skin. [applin]
3) In Pokken Tournament, there was a glitch where a support move doesn't appear when another support move is active. Name both moves alphabetically. [follow me snarl]
