Shaymin Event coming to the US

the event will work with a japenese platinum too right

I've been to the TRU Darkrai and Dragonite events, and both had signs specifically saying "Bring your English Diamond or Pearl".

Strangely enough, Japanese wondercards can be downloaded onto English copies, but looks like the reverse isn't true.

my toys'r'us has the pre-order tickets. have had them for about a week.

How do pre-orders at TRU work? Do you have to pay in full when you pre-order it, or can you do like Gamestop and pay partially, then pay the rest when you pick it up?

Yea I work at TRU and in March theres also a gonna be a Regigigas event. So that'll be cool since I've never bothered to get him before.

Cool, never been to one of these as I have missed out on the information. How exactly do they transfer Shamin to your D/P? Do you just wait in line and they are download stations or what? Looking forward to getting Shaymin Sky Form from this.

I was just looking at that actually. It doesn't require you to be "in a pinch." If OHKO moves become legal again (or even suspect tested), that could be a very uncool combination.

But keep in mind that Protect/Detect can still block the OHKO move.

Without a doubt, Shaymin. Regigigas does unlock the Regi trio in Platinum, and comes with a Cutsap berry, but otherwise sucks ass because it's already at level 100. That pretty much means you won't be able to EV train it without the use of Vitamins (and those can only pour a hundred into any given stat). Plus, you can always get someone to trade you a spare gigas to unlock the Trio.

Regigigas isn't a terribly good pokemon competitively-wise, and Shaymin is just so much cuter! :3

This ability to break through Detect and Protect does not apply to Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.

Meaning, the berry will still increase the accuracy of OHKO moves, but OHKO moves don't get that same ability other moves get when used against Protect/Detect.
