Like Gabe said, it depends on the nature. If it's a defensive nature you don't really care about the life orb number because you probably aren't using a life orb.

It's also important to note that 29 isn't always a life orb number; only if the base hp is divisible by 5. Life orb numbers are also calculated at level 100 which most people don't play on cart.

Life orb numbers also don't generally matter because you don't get to sit in 11 turns firing off attacks, they just help a lot of us justify otherwise flawless resets (I personally wouldn't toss something like a jolly ray that's flawless with a LO number either )

This is my johto classic team: Donphan (offensive), Raikou, Dragonite, Typhlosion, Feraligatr. Which should I add to my team: Azumarill OR Scizor?

The Battle Spot Teambuilding Discussion & Help Thread might be a better place to ask.
But if you want my opinion on the matter, I'd say that you already have Feraligatr as a Physically attacking water type, so I suggest Scizor of the two. If you just really need a Dragon immunity, I'd suggest that you replace Feraligatr with Azumarill and add Scizor. Don't take my word for it, though. I don't have much experience with the meta.

Okay guys what in the world am I doing wrong? I'm breeding a ditto holding a everstone with a male friend guard clefairy holding a destiny knot and 12 hatches in and not a single one has the friend guard ability?

This is my first breed on Oras but I've done countless on x/y the exact same way and the majority of the offspring has the hidden ability. Were the mechanics changed in xy?

Looks like you just haven't gotten lucky yet. I think the chance is lower for a male with Ditto.

You're doing nothing wrong, it's just bad luck. Keep in mind if the partner is a MALE pokemon, the offsprings will have the HA 20% of the time. I'd try better luck with a FEMALE Clefairy (60% to pass down HA).

Nothing has changed, you're just very unlucky with the RNG ^^

I managed to get all contest ribbons on my Latias in Emerald. With a combination of Salac and Ganlon berries at the blender with 3 other people around it, feeding her gold pokeblocks I maxed out cute and tough, and came relatively close with Cool, Beauty, and Smart. I found Cool to be the most difficult to win the Master Rank, followed by Beauty. If you read the wiki, you can see that points in the first round are calculated with the primary contest stat as well as the two secondary stats. So in the case with Smart, primary would be Smart, and the two secondary would be Tough and Cute. Since I didn't max them, Cool and Beauty were harder, as they are secondary stats for each other.

It's a good idea to look up move combinations for each contest category and try for yourself, I went through a lot of tm's and heartscales before I won every contest. Also, get the contest scarves from the man at the fanclub in Slateport city. They give a minor buff to the respective stat, but it definitely can make the difference between a win and a loss in a Master rank contest.

Edit: looking to get rid of an NA Mew code before the month is over, I would like to get my hands on an NA Zapdos code if possible

Does anyone have an extra HA Eevee they're willing to trade? IVs and nature doesn't matter.
