Suggestions

alexwolf, the first thing is being actively worked on.

I really like the latter two suggestions, particularly the Hidden Power one. Perhaps there could be a single option in the teambuilder for Hidden Power, and the type and power could be shown under the IVs?

After talking with Antar here are my suggestions :

- We can't move a pokemon when making a team and we also can't move it before the battle starts. Maybe you could change that.

- It would be cool to put EVs without clicking "enter" on the last move. I mean, changing the evs spread on the same page.

- Even though the teambuilder is original and not that bad (imo its cool, you can check the whole team easily, see every pokemons per tier etc), the only thing which sucks is the teams list. That thing is horrible, but thats my opinion. It would be cool to save our teams differently (maybe on our computer ?) and load them directly on the teambuilder.

- I was disappointed about the fact we can't change our profil as on PO. I mean, there is no "trainer information" as there is on PO. It would be nice to change our name, avatar, color, trainer information etc on the teambuilder.

- I have some difficulties to read the chat which is a bit ugly. I think you could add the time before our name when we're posting a message. You also could add a few colors when we moderate (ban, mute someone).

- I dont really enjoy playing on showdown cause i really hate the animations. Imo, its amazing for replays, but its not when playing, but thats my opinion. Tbh, you could reduce the battle window's size and add some colors on the chat (as on PO but thats not really important atm).

- I dont really like @, %, + for mods, drivers, admins etc, pokeballs were cool, it looks a bit random imo.

- Its not really aesthetically, but antar told me its not your priority which i understand but when you'll be done with other stuff, that should be nice to change that.

- Add variations for rated battles (points system sucks =/)

- Add an animate HP bar

- That "waiting for players" is irritating xD, maybe you could simply add a timer which is better imo.

- If thats possible, add a PM window, its a bit ugly atm. Also, what PO1 didnt have but now PO2 does, a single window for private messages with a tab for each conversation. Also, you already did that, so keep it : it changes the discussion even if we closed the window.

Well i know you probably dont want to make a "Pokemon Online bis" and something original, but maybe you could keep a few things that PO have.
Maybe i forgot a few things but there are only suggestions, maybe they are bad. Amazing job though Zarel.

The fact this junk was part of the team builder was so un intuitive in PO. Please, Zarel, don't go down that path. I think being able to just change your avatar via the chat is fine. Anyhow, if you do add a setting page for all of this frivolous crap, make sure it's a distinct settings "dialog"/panel.

If you add a timestamp, please make it configurable. I really don't need to know the exact time that "LargeCox91283" said "UR MOTHERS ALL LUV COX". It's wasted space for me and information that just really isn't very useful.

Bolded moderation messages could be useful, though.

Seems a weird reason not to want to play a game. Please don't reduce the battle window size, though!

I like irc compatibility. It's very clean and easy to look at. An image next to each name makes it more difficult for me to visually parse.

Isn't this what it already basically does? I mean except that the tabs are vertical.

Just going to say that Ojama's suggestions, especially this

are fantastic.

I apologize if this is impossible or way too idealistic, but it would be really neat if we could do something like themes, where we can edit how PS! appears to us, such as changing the background image/color, for the chat, since I'm not a huge fan of the Meloetta on light blue, either.

Another thing is that it would be cool if, after one selects "all battles", the battles would be organized by tier.

EDIT: Chimpakt's suggestion is even better than this one.

Finally, this is more of just a question, but I really don't understand why the numbers used for the ratings don't match those of PO and Shoddy, where the range was usually 1000-1700, on PS!, it seems like it goes from 1000-2000, probably just a personal nitpick here, I'm more curious about why PS! diverges from the older sims in this regard than having you change it.

Hopefully these suggestions were decent and not too ridiculous, I don't mean to discredit any of the work Aesoft has done with them, as showdown is a fantastic sim nonetheless.

agreed with the PM window. As an added problem, for people with wide computer screens, it is impossible to have a PM open and challenge someone at the same time.

If there was a search feature that could allow you to separate the tiers so only those types of battles would show up in the watch battle list, that would be cool. The watch battle gets flooded by Random Battle.

This is actually important, as upon seeing an opponent's team you should be allowed to switch what your Zoroark you could be possibly carrying to change into something else. This is how wifi does it, and we should be able to copy that.

But you can move your pokemon while making a team. cut the text, paste it elsewhere in the lineup. badabing badaboom

Sometimes, due to lag, I accidentally click the search button twice and end up in two battles at once. May I suggest an "Are you sure?" if you click search, and another search is already in progress?

But if it is lagging, wouldn't it just lag for that display?

Is it possible that only the original battlers can join their battles? If so, please only do that, thanks. The reason I ask for this is because I disconnected during a tournament match and then someone decided to join the battle and take my place. I ended up giving the win to my opponent since the battle was fucked up from there.

Sounds good!

Regarding ordering your team while playing, you can't actually do that on cartridge--PO was actually incorrect in letting you do that. I talked to bmelts about it ages ago, specifically for Zoroark, but apparently it just doesn't work like that on cartridge. So don't ask for it.

or at least, that's what I was told when I specifically asked about it a few months ago

Really? I always thought it was a bug. You select your pokemon one by one.

I'm actually not sure what I should do for PS. Either: select them one by one like in the games, or select first (and last if you have a Zoroark), which would be faster, and really the only ones you care about.

Except you're going to get some inconsistencies when switching. That is, you lead with Pokemon 1, switch to Pokemon 6, switch again to Zorua/oark. IIRC, Zorua will impersonate Pokemon 1, since it's in the 6th slot.

The best method from a user perspective would be PO-style permutation.

PO-style permutation is honestly pretty bad UI. I click my lead, click OK, and my lead is wrong since I forgot to click the first pokemon after clicking my lead.

New plan: choose lead, choose pokemons 2-6 if you have an Illusion mon.

But if it is lagging, wouldn't it just lag for that display?

The point is that before searching, it should check if you're already searching for a battle, and wait for a response to that question, before deciding "well I better start a new search".

should create a folder to save the logs easier because it's boring to do copy paste all the time. Same for the teams, is so boring to back up each week.

And my point is if there is a lag problem, it is going to lag for that too. It would be wiser to fix the lag problem than it is to add more things to lag.

You know how whenever you use a multi turn attack, it requires PP every turn? What if the PP of those moves was doubled as a stop-gap measure to somewhat alleviate this issue. It's not foolproof since some of these moves can hit for three straight turns (and, though a slightly less common occurrence to say the least, Ditto will always have 5 PP no matter what), and this probably shouldn't be used on Solarbeam because it can be turned into a one turn attack, but it would provide a partial fix that would be closer in general to what should be happening. The only ways I can see this being problematic are that it might confuse players who don't know what's going on and that it would screw with Spite, but people already are reporting this bug at least as much as they'd report something like that and nobody uses Spite anyway.

Once the bug is fixed they should of course be returned to their normal PP, but until then it's an option for a temporary solution.
