The Everything NFL Thread - 2009

Eh, I benched Colston because the Giants D was #1 against the pass this season, and my other 3 WRs had much better matchups (Housh vs Arizona, Driver vs Detroit, Sims-Walker vs St Louis). Plus Colston had been kinda quiet for me the couple of weeks before the bye, so I made the tough decision to bench him. I currently have a 13 point lead, but my opponent's last player is Vincent Jackson, so it'll be close. I won't make the mistake of benching Colston again however.
The Giants pass D has also played nobody =/. They dont have any well known shut down corners, just a bunch of average corners/safetys.

On a side note, Cutler just put me through what Notre Dame put me through yesterday. Got into the Red Zone just to tease me. Im not a Bears fan, but a Cutler TD would of salvaged my fantasy week and gave me a pretty decent shot at winning =/. Unless Champ Bailey shuts down Vincent Jackson completely, my team will have posted 165/the second highest total this week for nothing =(

hahaha, nearly the EXACT same thing happened to aldaron in the smogon league. He left mason in his starting line up over.............roddy white
And Roddy White is what the guy used to kill my Marshall\Mason team last week... Lucky Roddy White didnt score 3 more TDs to ruin me this week against another opponent =o.

Seriously, the Jets have been COMPLETELY exposed now. Teams can read Rex Ryan's overrated defense like a book now. As for Sanchez, he's not going through "growing pains". He just flat out sucks. There is no excuse to throwing five interceptions against the Bills.

Can't wait for the sheer beatdown the Patriots are going to bring to the Jets. Unlike the Titans, Belichick will keep Brady out when they're ahead 52-0.

Even though I agree Pats>Jets and lol at times Dolphins>Pats>Jets..., you are too harsh Boss Nigga. The assumption about the Jets was very great at the time. Mark Sanchez showed extreme efficiency, but now he is showing his immaturity as a player. The Jets D are still good because they limited Bills to 16 pts and Brees to 0 TDs. If you look at it, their losses came from Mark Sanchez's misplays and the erratically proficient Miami Wildcat Offense.

And the Browns held the Bills with their starting quarterback to three. Your point?

Brees to 0 TDs
No they didn't. The Saints defense dominated so much they didn't need Brees.

Combined record of the teams the Jets beat: 7-11
Combined record of the teams the Jets lost to: 9-7 (two of which have losing records)

I don't know why you felt the need to double post, but anyway... Overrated defense? They held the Bills to 16 points through nearly five full quarters. That game is all on the offense, especially Sanchez's INT++ total. Their defense is pretty good by any measure you use.

Actually, maybe the third highest mate depending on how Denvers defense goes for me :).

But yeah I benched Rivers over Palmer, so hoping the Broncos defense destroys the Chargers so I can get a higher score AND so I can be equal first in the comp ^_^

Jets held Houston to 7, New England, to 9, and Saints to 10. Seriously.. have you seen the defense plays that Jets made and their players they have? Kris Jenkins, Darell Revis, Calvin Pace, Marques Douglas, Shaun Ellis, and Lito Shephard who are proven players or either good developing players. It really only failed to the Miami Wildcat.

No they didn't. The Saints defense dominated so much they didn't need Brees.
Are you saying 32 attempts from a QB is not needing a QB? Come on, the defense stopped Brees at 190 yards and forced many 4th downs if you actually watched the game like I did. If Jets hope to have any success, it better be from Mark Sanchez. Their Defense is already solid this year

If the Titans have any pride, theyll go for Bradys Knees after the whistle if they dont pull Brady out of this game. Pats cant possibly lose this game... Brady has no business still being in the game
Like Peyton Manning had any business playing when they're up 28-9 or 31-9 or whatever?
No. He just wanted his big tough 300 yards. Manning is trashhhh

What a bad ass defense holding Ryan Fitzpatrick to 16 points. >.< That's the most impressive stat of the week.

It's funny when the Giants play a team with a winning record/skill they get their heads ripped off. I don't see how people thought they were "the best in the league" when all they played was TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE teams.
Dallas is...ehhh...but they only won on a last second field goal when Romo pretty much handed them the game.
They're 5-0 was about impressive as the Colts. So much skill and talent playing teams with little to no wins.

For my lolz of the week.
Lol@Jim Zorn and the Redskins
Lol@The Eagles
Lol@The Titans for being the worst team of all time.
lol@Jay Cutler and his terrible accuracy and flat plain out being a terrible qb.
lol@The Rams for their losing streak.
lol@Eli Manning being the highest paid QB and being on the bottom half of QB skill. 14/31? Jamarcus Russel could do that.
lol@Brad Childress almost losing. L2Play call
lol@Derek Anderson.
lol@Mark Sanchez being bad.

F- bro.
Jay Cutler a terrible QB? Lol

Jamarcus Russell could do that? Cool 40-something % completion percentage
L2troll

Falcons played terribly. Pretty happy our D came through for us at the end there and really the entire game =D.

Lmao, how is 28-9 or 31-9 similar to 45-0? It was obvious the Titans had no point of winning the game at that point.... 28-9 or even 31-9 still gives the other team a chance to come back. One TD and a 3 and Out/Stop/onside recover put them right back in it. Cutler also started 9/9, its not his fault at the end of the game his team kept getting penalties for stupid things. Minne's D also let them down, had nothing to do with Childress. Eli is getting paid as a top qb because hes doing alot with no big name receivers. Titans are also far from the worst team of all time. Theyve played a pretty hard schedule so far, and it doesnt help that their D cant cover anybody. There have been worse teams

@MS: Just hope Vincent Jackson gets locked up tonight and youll be tied lmao

Eddie Royal has already lost me an 18 point lead on my fantasy team... and he doesn't even have a catch yet.

If the Jets want to win, they need to run the ball more and not force too much from the Sanchise. Matt Ryan, a far better rookie quarterback than Sanchez, was 1-6 in games he threw the ball more than thirty times.

Now, obviously you're going to throw the ball more in a game you're already losing, but that doesn't explain losing when you rush for 300+ yards.

Broncos 6-0
I thought they were going to be garbage this season with the new head coach and all. But they're doing better than they have in years.

Lol, I remember last week.. Derrick Mason screwed me over. I had Fitzgerald, Steve Smith(NYG,) and Derrick Mason starting with Brandon Marshall on the bench. Big mistake in which I should have checked my fantasy roster. Derrick Mason ended up wth 0 and Brandon Marshall with more than 15 points which could have gave me a victory. I had a dream where I started Brandon Marshall instead of Derrick Mason, so I was sure I started Brandon Marshall, but I didn't =(. Let's hope Brandon Marshall give me 6 points to win it this week... if not.. im pissed cause Mason got 15 pts.
OMFG! Brandon Marshall got me 49 yards, 1 little yard away for a tie. This shiet is draining away my fantasy playoff hopes.

The Chargers continue to underachieve. They can now be spoken in the same breath as the Mets and Suns. Congrats!

It was a terrible night for both special teams though. 3 TDs? Come on lol.

I feel for you LD. I started that game with a 13 point lead, and my opponent had Vincent Jackson as his last player. He ended up about 2 points short, but watching that last 3 minutes of the game was so painful. Back to .500 now thank God

Eh... not completely convinced with Denver yet. I like their defense but their offense is kinda ehhhhh... against a more physical team like the Steelers / Ravens... that's when I'll decide if they are "real" or not.

Same here, but "real" or not, they pretty much have a free path to the playoffs (given the poor performance of the rest of AFC West). And because the playoffs are single elimination, it's easy to advance with a little luck on your side (I'm looking at you, Arizona...). What I'm saying is that I can see the Broncos going pretty far this season, perhaps even to the conference championship.
