Not to upset DM further but I decided my upset special for this next week is to take KC over Buffalo.

I will say one thing and one thing only:

If any other city's sports fans try to say they have it worse than Buffalonians, they can go fuck themselves with a broken broom handle.

That is all.

YOU don't currently host the worst franchise in NFL history.

brb, fucking myself with a broken broom handle (even our college sports teams are garbage at the big 3 sports (football, basketball, baseball))

Um, so? How is being consistently bad and being able to expect losing worse than being teased incessantly with greatness only to have it roughly torn apart before your very eyes? Stop feeling sorry for yourself, you have no idea what pain is.

I think I have to agree with DM here, sure if your team blows since its inception, the LA Clippers, the Detroit Lions, the Pittsburgh Pirates, etc, you begin to just shrug it off and realize your team is never going anywhere so you expect your team to lose. But when you have a team that loses 4 straight Super Bowls and continually shows flashes of excellence just to find a way to beat themselves you have the perfect recipe for ultimate disappointment. No team that has always stunk has ever felt the pain of "Wide Right" and the "Music City Miracle."

"No Goal"

Wait, didn't the LA Clippers have a run at the playoffs some years ago, like 05 or something?

Back on topic, Bills barely losing is lol. Especially to the Browns.

I am actually a big Buffalo Bills fan; they're my AFC Saints. As DM knows, I am also a big JP Losman fan even though most people hate him and he gets criticized so much. I found this and am going to post it verbatim, as it words my opinion on the Bills perfectly...

I supported J.P. Losman from day 1. I would argue to the death (and still do to this day) how our management did not use him correctly and set him up to fail.

We yanked him in and out of the lineup and never respected that he was a project player with elite skills who needed patience and time to develop. As recently as the week after our first preseason game, I was pushing for J.P. to start Week 1. "We have a possible shot for the playoffs with Losman, but we definitely do not with Trent."

And here I am in Week 9, appalled by the calls for blaming Trent Edwards for what happened this season. Are we done for 2008? After this week, it could very well be yes.

The Dolphins game could have been an abberation, facing a tough divisional opponent on the road. Once I saw how sloppy we were at home, in front of a clearly pumped crowd at the Ralph, I could see the writing on the wall.

The Patriots are no juggernaut, but Belichick must be licking his chops watching our team make such boneheaded decisions. Here I am telling you that Trent Edwards is the SOLUTION, not the problem.

Trent has been nothing short of sensational this season. He is wise beyond his years for a 2nd year quarterback (in reality, with 17 career starts, he's barely even a 1st year quarterback...something the Losman haters don't realize when they call a guy with 30 starts a "4 year veteran"...uh uh).
He makes smart decisions with the football and can clearly make all the throws.

Our problem is very simple, yet very glaring. We can't run the ball and we can't rush the passer.

I refuse to believe Marshawn Lynch or Fred Jackson are the problems. Marshawn runs too hard, fights too much for yardage and looks too good out there. He's clearly trying his best and has proven he has the skillset. Freddie Jackson too.

I blame the problems with our two lines. What is most frightening is that these problems are not easily fixable.

Jason Peters is sure to get a huge deal...Langston Walker has a multi-million dollar contract and Brad Butler has a new deal. Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay are being paid Pro Bowl money. We are stuck with these guys.

All I can think of doing is firing our offensive line coach. I don't even know who he is, but I find it very hard to believe that the heaviest line in the National Football League can't push people off the line of scrimmage. It HAS to be the blocking schemes, doesn't it? We have to find out.

I hear everyone calling for us to blitz more and more, which is a joke. It'll only take one or two 60-80 yard touchdowns before that nonsense shuts up.

Whatever you do, don't blame Trent Edwards. Do you realize Trent has been so good this year that teams are actually not even blitzing him too much?

Joe Flacco must see people flying at him every which way to confuse him, but Trent has shown such knowledge of the game that teams are dropping several in coverage and daring our running game to beat them. Our running game...remember that?

Don't blame a young quarterback who took this team to a better start than any one of us could have ever dreamed.

We destroyed one promising young quarterback with our disloyalty and impatience...let's not do it again.

*sigh*

Yep. That about sums it up. No matter what any shmuck might tell you, the game of football comes down to the big men in the trenches.

That's why the Jets are doing awesome this year...sick O-line =)

Everyone laughed at me when I said they were winning the division...but look at 'em now!

D'Brickshaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold and Alan Feneca give them a Center to Left side front that might be unmatched in the entire league. That's why an old, washed up RB like Thomas Jones and a kid with few RB skills who should be playing FB (Leon Washington) can have such good looking stats, lol.

3 cheers for the big guys!

I'd be more impressed if it was the Bengals with Carson Palmer and Ocho Cinco. >.>
But I doubt Palmer will play(Just checked he's not playing)
And Johnson got deactivated from the game for breaking some rule.

Or I'd be more impressed if their offense wasn't 30+ in every category that matters. haha

poor Bengals. =( I'll always love them, though.

the stupid thing is that ben's regression comes during our toughest stretch.

giants. redskins. colts. chargers. (skipthebengals). patriots.

further on down the line, we get the cowboys, big big showdown with ravens, and the titans.

ugh. something has to be done because just playing him is likely to only keep hurting us...i'd honestly sit ben for the bengals game to prepare for the tough final stretch, and just stick it out against the chargers.

Well, two weeks later after throwing 31/41 for 308 against the Chargers and 17/30 for 243 against the Bengals for NO INTERCEPTIONS would you still say sit Ben and play Byron Sandwich?

of course not. if he'd still been playing like he did against the colts/giants though, i'd say there's serious consideration for it.

the fact that willie parker couldn't do anything at all worries me though

It's not NFL related really, but Pat White just broke McNabb's TD record for the Big East, as well as the NCAA for QB rushing yards.

Slow Willie < Mewelde BEAST

Everyone laughed at me when I said they were winning the division...but look at 'em now!

And here I thought it had more to do with the previous 16-0 Patriots losing their future HoF quarterback to injury in the first game of the season.

It was so good to see the Jets kick so much fucking ass.
And I'm glad I got to see Brett fucking rape. ^_^

On a side note, the Colts suck ass.
Except for Baltimore, all their wins have been 6 or less points. only one was 6. the rest was 4 or less.
It always pisses me off every season they win games by last second field goals.

It's a natural part of having Vinatieri.

I feel like Denver wins more by last second field goals than the Clots do. But LOL @ Denver for getting hammered by the Raiders :-D

I knew the Titans would fall at some point, it was just a question of which team came up with the right formula first. They were by no means invincible, several teams they played had a chance to beat them, they just didn't focus on the right areas. The Jets did, and showed just how beatable the Titans really are.

On another note, the NFL Analysts need to quit kissing the Giants' asses. This whole business of "nobody can stop the Giants running game" and "best team in the NFL" is overstating it a bit. Yes, the Giants are good I won't argue with that. Yes they are among the top teams right now. But to say without a doubt they are the best is dodgy at best. They got raped by Cleveland of all teams, and they got completely frustrated by the Steelers defense. The only reason they came away from that game with a win was the Steelers killing themselves with stupid INTs and a critical injury that came at the worst possible time to the worst possible person. The Giants, like the Titans, will have their time to fall. And I have a feeling it'll be in the playoffs to the Cardinals :).

If you looked JUST at the yardage differential, you'd think the Redskins were winning by 3 touchdowns every win.

The problem is that while our offensive line is DOMINANT in terms of run blocking, they're mediocre at best in pass protection, especially Jansen and Samuels (who is playing hurt and needs surgery)

We absolutely have to beat the Eagles (shouldn't be too hard) and Giants (gulp though if any team can do it right now we'd be one of those teams - our defense is top 5, and probably the best or second best run-stopping team in the NFL).

(we're basically one dominant DE away from being an incredible defense)

who dat baby

Bills and the Saints both drop 50+ points this weekend...Saints defense still sucks, but even when they decide to just be mediocre, we are so much better.

Brees doesn't have Fitz and Boldin or Lendale or an awesome defense...MVP BREES
