Congrats to the Giants on happening to be on the field at the time when Pittsburgh decided to shoot itself in the foot. Fucking lucky bastards, I love when a team gets outplayed and still wins.

Yeah because the stats don't show that the Giants man-handled the Pitt offense. 4 Ints, 5 Sacks, a Safety, and only 249 yards given up, the Giants were WAY outplayed.

dude...lol

the safety was because our long snapper was injured.

one int was off a hail mary at the end of the game.

one int was off a huge hit on nate washington where he dropped the ball.

one int was on a 4th down. the giants would have actually gotten better field position if the guy had batted the ball down instead of catching it.

steelers only allowed 282 yards for the giants offense.

the only thing the giants did exceedingly well was pressure roethlisberger, and even then, none of the interceptions were due to the good pressure the giants were putting on ben.

anyway, steelers fucking killed themselves with that drive in the 3rd quarter. they drove all the way into giant territory, and even scored another ben to washington deep bomb...only to have it called back on holding. in fact, they had 3 penalties for 30 yards on that drive, and ben was then sacked for like 15 yards on 3rd down. the steelers could have at least gotten 3 points on the board, and possibly a td. add this with a healthy steelers snapper and the outcome could have been different. oh and going for it on 4th and 4 was dumb, and not because ben was intercepted. should have just kicked a field goal, the steelers were actually ahead.

i honestly felt the game was pretty even. giants couldn't run the ball (31 attemps, 84 yards) while ben was getting a lot of pressure (no surprise). however, the giants did a very very nice job of protecting manning, the steelers got 0 sacks. and the steelers led the league in sacks heading into this game. giants definitely have one of the best o-lines in the league. better o-line + stupid steeler mistakes = giants win.

neither team was outplayed. both teams are solid on all but one or two aspects, and both will be a threat in the playoffs.

Like I said zero, the giants didn't BEAT the steelers, the steelers beat themselves. I mean for christ's sake, it took them what, 6 or 7 trips to the redzone to FINALLY get a TD? Not to mention they were aided by awesome field position. It's much easier to score when you're allowed to start already in the opposing team's half of the field.

The Steelers ran the ball more effectively than the Giants
The Steelers got into the end zone THREE TIMES (one got called back)
The Steelers defense completely shut down the #1 running game in the league, and kept Eli Manning to 19/32 (which is 59% by the way, below average)

Ultimately, what killed the Steelers was penalties, injuries, and turnovers, NONE of which are related to how the Giants played. That is why I made the statement that the Giants did not beat the Steelers, the Steelers beat themselves. I am still unimpressed by the Giants, and I think they were lucky to come away from that game with a win.

Both the Giants and Steelers manhandled each other. I do not see why either team should have a negative outlook after this game since they both played marvelous defense, and defenses typically are a better asset toward winning championships than offense! Both teams have already proven against other teams that they have good offenses (Steelers' seems better to me).

You want to look for a team that beat themselves? Look no further than my Bills. Up 16-7, they turned the ball over 4 times, gave up a safety... all in about 15 minutes. Ugh.

Actually I think the Steelers Giants game was a good test for both teams. Alot was said prior to the game about how both teams hadn't faced particularly tough opponents til now, so it was necessary to see who was the joke and who was legit. In the end, both teams I think are legit, with Pittsburgh (IMO) being a bit better than the Giants.

Also, Mewelde Moore is a beast :)

Willie Parker may be splitting some carries with Moore when he comes back. By the way, I hope the Titans win tonight.

yayyy the colts lost! =D
Titans looked okay. First time I've watched them all season. But I'm not worried about the packers playing them this weekend.

As much as I love the Titans being undefeated, I gotta root for my Packers! Packers will be the strongest test to the Titans so far this year, so I will agree with you, Mr. Storm. Rodgers-Jennings will have a huge game!

Yay, Bills suck again. Back to familiar territory: finding ways to lose games.

Sounds like the old Cardinals, lol.

The new Cardinals beat on the Rams unsurprisingly. In fact, their next 2 games (49ers and Seahawks) should probably seal the division for them if they win (though of course, I'm still rooting for a 49er upset). I mean, when every other team in your division is what, 2-6, talk about a sweet deal for a playoff spot...

The Falcons are now 5-3, after everyone predicting 3-13 or worse. The highest I've seen anyone give them was the AJC predicting them going 5-13. I think I said a while ago that they could easily go 8-8 or better easily. At the very least, they could go 10-6 and take one of the wildcard spots. Winnable games in bold.
Upcoming games:
New Orleans
Denver
Carolina
@San Diego
@New Orleans
Tampa Bay
@Minnesota
St. Louis

I just realized two things simultaneously:

1 - At the beginning of the season, the Steelers had the toughest schedule in 32 years. But, those same teams that had great records last year are now sucking (Dallas, San Diego, Pats). This means that what was a hard schedule has now become a schedule that could land us at 14-2, with our toughest remaining game being at Tennessee.

2 - The Titans have undoubtedly the EASIEST schedule in the league this year, judging by the performance of their opponents. The only challenging team they face is Pittsburgh in the second to last game of the season. If the Steelers don't beat them, they will go 16-0.

Sorry but I predicted the Falcons win the division. NFC South curse, etc. Winnable games? You mean games you predict they'll win, right? :P It wouldn't make any sense for the first NO game to be winnable and the second one not-winnable. And TB should've just lost to the Chiefs...

Pats aren't actually sucking all that much, despite losing Brady, and Dallas is the injury bug more than anything. (And luckily for them, all relevant injuries should be healed up after next week's bye, except McBriar.)

looks like the power has shifted in the west. It used to be the seahawks that owned the division.

Srry for double posting. I highly doubt the Titans will go 16-0. Jacksonville could be a trap game, Pittsburgh will probably win, and the Texans have a chance against them.

Wow. the Packers. 4-4. >.>
Lost more games than all last season.
Luckily they should beat the Vikings and Bears and probably the Saints unless they let Brees throw for 489356890345908 yards.
So 7-4 while hopefully the Bears lose and they take the division back.

Also, GO BENGALS! So stoked they finally won!
Fucking Jaguars suck so much ass.

Really? Do you really want to suppose they should 'luckily' beat the Vikings, Bears, and Saints, three very solid, if inconsistent, teams? While none of those teams are solid playoff shots, they are all contenders and all good teams. All seem more likely to beat the Packers than vice versa at present. 2-1 will be lucky if they can get that to occur.

I was saying luckily because it's an easy going upcoming schedule.
Already beat the Vikings. they'll do it again.
Bears suck ass. with Grossman under center that's even more lawlz.
Saints are good...but Packers are better.
And, 2 and 1 will be good. especially if it's over 2 division rivals.
