Just posting to remind people about Round 1 of the SPL 2 if you're participating. See who you're up against & if you haven't done so already, PM me the 9 Pokemon you received from your fellow participants, only one person hasn't done so yet, & yeah. Round 1 deadline's in 5 days time, & remember to send me a log of your battle once you're done.

Cheers!

Minor Emerald Update:

I beat Roxanne. Due to an unfortunate combination of requirements, Torchic was unable to fight Roxanne, and Ralts was slower than a Skitty 5 LEVELS LOWER than her, forcing me to solo Roxanne with...Marill. Water Gun 3HKO'd the first Geodude through Potion, while OHKOing the second due to a crit. Nosepass fell to ~10 Water Guns after Oran Berry and Potion and NEVER USED ROCK TOMB. The team ended up as follows:

LVP: Torchic (Firefly): Lv. 10 Impish Male (Scratch, Growl, Focus Energy, Ember)
Ralts (Ninja) @ Quick Claw: Lv. 13 Quiet Female @ Trace (Growl, Confusion, Double Team)
MVP: Marill (Nautilus): Lv. 14 Docile Male @ Huge Power (Tackle, Tail Whip, Defense Curl, Water Gun)

@fire blast, posting to say there is only 1 fire blast TM in diamond and neither chimchar line nor stunky line learn it from level up, but being the nice guy I am I will allow you to change fire blast to flamethrower on stunky but you must now use it against all of volkners pokemon. EDIT: huh, serebii just lists lake verity.

ALSO, 200th POST.

Avlittle thing about SPL 2, me and Atheno might end up needing and extension as I live in Toronto and he lives in Australia, something like an 18 hour difference.

If Atheno`s reading this I`m usually on the comp after 430 until 6:00ish Toronto time but if we can set up a time I can end up as late as 10 when my mother morphs into a bitch. Weekends are much more flexible but also much more volatile.

In other news, I just have Blaine, Blue, Dragons Dens, E4 Pt 2 and Red left to go. All solos so far have been successfully completed, Crobat just has to solo Blaine and all restrictions will be fulfilled.

I shall see, you still have 5 days, plenty of time to test your teams & get the battle done (Don't forget, someone needs to PM me a log once the battle is done). If you need an extension, I may be happy to oblige.
Also if Atheno reads this, he needs to send his 9 Pokemon to me via PM ASAP, he is the only participant yet to do this.
Also, congratulations to BiGGiE, he won 3-0 in his match against Iggdrasil. One match down, 4 to go.

And almost immediately after BiGGiE beat Igg he got crushed by me in a friendly >:)

Still need to test one guy out in spot six before I`m ready to go.

And almost immediately after BiGGiE beat Igg he got crushed by me in a friendly >:)
BiGGiE and I actually had a friendly a couple of minutes after our battle too. I'm always brain dead after a tourney match, but he still won 3-0 again XD. (Well, his _______ used Selfdestruct on the last turn, so it was technically 4-0.)

@bjay
-edit-
Catch a Grimer and name it SwalowALot. It may only know attacking moves that are special in Nature and he must know 3 attacking moves at all times. By the time you challenge Tate and Liza they must all be base power 90 or greater. SwalowALot may only evolve if he solos Rayquaza. He must be used in AT LEAST every other Gym Match and KO at least one pokemon in each match (once you obtain him) that you use him.

Hard emerald? Very well. @bjay, you get a nincada named "Two In One". You must have it solo 1 gym leader minus their main or 1 GLMP and teach it both dig and sandstorm to evolve (not sure when you can get the dig TM but if you can't get it till late game you may evolve at lvl35). If you choose to take shedinja it must keep sandstorm to remind itself that it was once a ground type, and can NOT be used against gym leaders/E4 because it is afraid they will be too strong for it, it must also hold exp share if it is not the highest leveled. If you choose ninjask however, it believes evolution only made it stronger so it must solo 1 gym leader and 3 pokemon in the E4, and you may never teach it baton pass because it doesn't want to help your other pokemon.
The choice is yours, semi-useless exp hog shedinja or sweeping ninjask.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

@Bjay: Take a Taillow named LL Cool J. It must solo Brawly (the coolest Gym Leader) to evolve. It may only evolve immediately after you beat Wattson. As a Swellow, it may only use STAB attacking moves until you win a Master Rank Coolness Contest with it (you must do this). The remaining restrictions depend on the number of Pokeblock you fed it:

0- Must solo two of Juan's Pokemon.
1- Must solo one of Tate & Liza's Pokemon.
2- Must solo thirty Trainers in a rematch.
3- Must complete both 1 and 3.
4- Must complete both 2 and 3.
5- Must complete 1, 2, and 3.
>5- Must complete 1, 2, and 3 without exceeding Level 43.

Good luck!

Pokemagnificent
Bjay. You asking for a hard Emerald challenge reminds me i need to start mine up again after taking a small break.

Grab yourself a Numel, Call it Hot Fuzz.
Your Numel enjoys being Oblivious(Ability) to everything other pokemon tend not to get along with him as he is a Quirky (Nature) character. Deep down he realises nobody gets along with him and tries his hardest to forget this fact, thus he must have Amnesia. Once he has finally forgotten about all your team members disliking him (Getting to +6 against a gym leader) he suddenly evolves into Camerupt. Your team now think that he is hot stuff as he has show his Hidden Power(You must teach it Hidden Power/Secret Power.) He now gets very overconfident as he is oblivious to his flaws (Obviously) until it is drummed into to him by being ko'ed by Juan. Now he strives to be the best and he forgets about everything else and only goes for power so he can only learn moves over 100 BP (He now cant remember why he ever leant Amnesia in the first place and decides that Double Team is a much better move so he must now learn that and succesfully reach +6 Evasion against Sidney and KO the opposing pokemon on the first go or he must solo Agatha).

Recap (Sorry for block of text BJAY :P)

Quirky Numel- Hot Fuzz
Must reach +6 Special Defense against and gym leader to evolve to camerupt.
Now must learn Hidden Power/Seceret Power.
After learning these he only have moves only 100BP.(HP is still required on the moveset.)
Then before the E4 replace Amnesia for Double Team and get to +6 against Sidney and KO the Pokemon its against on the first go or he must solo Agatha.

Enjoy.

It’s a Random
Bjay gets to start with Mudkipz the Mudkip, & it's going to be a long Mudkip...It may not evolve until you solo 5 GLMP with it. Among this, it must solo Watson (Which is possible iirc, it needs to be at least Lv30 & have Mud Sport...). It must also know & keep Bide & use it in every Trainer battle where it makes an appearance (From the moment you get it, of course). On top of this, you may never use a revive. Oh, & it must hold a Pecha Berry to fight from the moment you get one, if it loses it mid battle, you must switch it out, no SRing, once the battle is completed, you must save the game.

Have fun.

Sprocket
Bjay, you get a Plusle or Minun, your choice. It can only learn Level-Up and HM moves.

Starting Emerald Scramble!

OK, I'm using my 200th post to say that I'm FINALLY, after about 60 pages, starting my own Emerald Scramble!

My team:
-All Special Gyarados, can't learn Thunder if you teach it Surf, can't learn Blizzard if you teach it Waterfall. (Texas)

-Female Spinda named Twiggy; never use Potions, Elixirs or Berries on her; Win at least one Beauty/Cute contest in Lilycove; Must know Teeter Dance by the E4. (kipp)

-PrlB4Swine the Spoink, must hold a Pearl ASAP to fight; only 2 attacks, both of different types; solo 10 grass/darks, one must be Dark, 3 must be Trainer 'Mons. Within 5 levels of highest Mon. (Dark Ray)

-Take a Shedinja. May never be the lowest leveled Pokemon on your team. (Random)

-Clasica the female Altaria, must know Sing, Double Team / Safeguard, Astonish / Fury Attack / Dragon Dance / Perish Song, Fly; must sleep 10 Pokemon using Sing, must solo one Gym Leader, one E4 member, and KO one of Wallace's Pokemon. (Arctic)

-Joeseph the Treecko, may never battle with a green opponent, must solo Brawly or Roxanne and Watson to evolve; as Grovyle, must solo any purple 'Mons; to become Sceptile, KO one of Maxie's, Flannery's, and Winona's Pokemon; as Sceptile, must solo red and blue 'Mons, cannot hurt purple. (Dummy)

I just have to migrate my Pokemon, which would be easy if not for the fact that they're in the hands of one of my friends, who is kindly getting the Crown beasts for me at the moment. So it'll be a couple of weeks before I legitimately start, but I'll update this post when I do.

@Dummy07
Seems you got the Marril right. I meant catch a marril until you get one with Huge Power. The part of catching first one you see was more of a typo when I changed my challenge as I was giving it. But I think you more or less know what to do with it I assume.

Posting about SPL 2, c/ped from the Group thread, it's important...
Its_A_Random in the Group said:
If anyone wants to know why I want your teams, it's so I know if you're using a legal Pokemon when you send me a log of your battle. If you don't send me a team (Atheno says hi), I will have no idea if the Pokemon you're using is legal or not, you could easily cheat when you don't send me a team. That's why.

Anyways, I know I'm going to sound like a broken record, but when you're done with the battle, one person needs to send me the log (Preferably the winner) of the battle, otherwise, I'll assume you never battled. Also I can check whether the battle is legal or not...

Anyways, the deadline is in just over 4 days time, if Atheno doesn't send me a team by the deadline, he will incur a penalty (A points fine) & he will still need to send me a team.

Cheers!

I hereby announce...

A Pokémon Pearl Scramble!

Fire away!

EDIT: My team:

  1. Tentacool - It must have 2 non attacking moves, and one of his moves must be physical. Solo Flint. (DetroitLolcat)
  2. "Cody"/"Sierra" the Aipom - Variable Challenge - must solo any Rival battle to evolve. Learn and keep Double Hit or Return (Iggdrasil)
  3. "Squirrel" the Pachirisu - Must hold Cheri Berry. Solo Volkner on the first try, if not then it can't use Electric attacks. (Its_A_Random)
  4. "Slow" the Torterra - Moveset is Leech Seed, Synthesis, Toxic, and Crunch/Earthquake/Wood Hammer. (aditya8081)
  5. Bastiodon - To evolve must know 1 special attack and Sandstorm. Final moveset will be Thunder, Blizzard, Fire Blast, and Sandstorm. Solo any 3 Pokemon in the Elite Four. (Dark Ray)
  6. Gible - Must solo 1 of Candice's Pokemon as a Gabite. (Tyranitarphantom)

Fire Blast's Shinx was rejected for having too many damn restrictions. Seriosly, how am I supposed to keep track of all of them?

As soon as you get Surf, catch a Tentacool. It must have 2 non attacking moves, and one of his moves must be physical. Solo Flint.

yaya0: You get "Cody"/"Sierra" the Aipom, and it must be the first one you catch. Veriable challenge, away!

If Male: It must solo Gardenia.
If Female: It must solo the Galactic Admin (can't remember which one he/she was) in Eturna City.

If its ability is Pickup: You can only use items on it that Aipom has picked up.
If its ability is Run Away: Can only use attcking moves if they are boosted by Technican.

+Attack Nature: May only use Physical attcking moves in battle (No Special, no Status).
+Defence: Must learn and keep Protect and Drain Punch.
+Special Attack: May only use Special attcking moves in battle (Same drill as above).
+Special Defence: Must solo one of Volkner's Pokemon.
+Speed: Must learn and keep Agility.
Neutral: Can only learn TM or HM moves, unless retrictions apply.

If its Shiny: No Retrictions!
If not:...

Regardless (bar shiny), it must solo any Rival battle to evolve. Learn and keep Double Hit or Return (depending on ability restrictions).

Good Luck, Have Fun!

yaya0 gets Squirrel the Pachirisu. It must hold a Cheri Berry to fight, if it loses it mid battle, it must switch out, you may not SR, you must complete the battle & save the game without hesitation. Have it solo Volkner on the first try, if it fails & it may never use Electric Type attacks in battle again.

Have fun.

Also saying my congratulations to zdrup15; his team won the Secret Santa Tournament.

Reserved for yaya0

All right, you get Keesha the Aipom. Its name is so similar to Ke$ha that it's a devout fan. Its favorite song is Tik Tok, and It takes the lyrics to heart. It knows that "the dudes line up cause they hear it has swagger" and it does not want to disappoint them. Teach it Swagger. It must use it on every male pokemon it sees. However, it "smacks it opponents when they get too drunk," so whenever an opposing pokemon hits itself in confusion, you must choose an attacking move. Any attack will do. It's "gonna fight til it sees the sunlight". As such, it must be the only pokemon to fight at night until it solos 5 Gym Leader Pokemon. It does not want the "Police to shut it down," so it must solo all Policemen at night regardless of any other restriction. It wants to be a team player as well, so teach it Baton Pass

Evolve whenever, but it must show off it's power, so teach it strength. The other restrictions apply.

Overview
Aipom NN Keesha
Moveset:

  • Swagger (keep Sand attack until you learn Swagger)
  • Baton Pass
  • Any Attack/ Strength as an Ambipom
  • Filler/ Strength as an Ambipom
Other Restrictions

  1. Use Swagger on every male pokemon
  2. Solo 5 Gym Leader Pokemon
  3. Must be the only Pokemon to battle at night until requirement 2 has been fulfilled
  4. Solo all Policemen
If you want an easier challenge, you can eliminate the Third restriction. It just went with the lyrics

You've got to be kidding me... Ninja'd... Give me a moment to get a new challenge

OK then, you get Slow the Torterra. He likes to Stall because he was too slow to do anything else. His Moveset is as follows
-Leech Seed(put whatever you want here until you get leech seed)
-Synthesis(put absorb/Mega drain here until you get Synthesis)
-Toxic (put Bite/Crunch here until you get Toxic)
-Crunch/Earthquake/Wood Hammer (put some attacking move here until you get one of the aforesaid moves)

He must have 3 of these moves by the time he solos Crasher Wake. This is not too bad as you get two of the moves at levels 32 and 33 after evolving and that toxic is on the adjacent route. He must outstall Cynthia's Spiritomb to prove that PP does not matter.

You get the biggest, meanest electric type in all of Sinnoh: Shinx. You must catch a male Shink with intimidate ASAP. This Shinx has a huge ego so it must always lead of in all gym battles. To evolve, Shinx must land the finishing blow on 50 pokemon. 22 of those pokemon must belong to gym trainers, gym leaders, or Galactic Commanders. Also, Shinx must solo two gyms (not including the gym leader) without going to the pokemon center or using items. Shinx may never, run from a pokemon battle because he is not afraid. Shinx can never switch out if its HP is red because that shows weakness. After evolving into Luxray, it becomes an even darker pokemon. Luxray enjoys torturing pokemon with Toxic, and intimidating them with Scary Faces. Also Luxray loves to paralyze pokemon in its electric jaws. To be used in the E4, Luxray, must kill 30 pokemon with a combination of Thunder Fang paralysis & Scary face or Toxic & Scary Face. Luxray can only kill pokemon weak to electric or dark with Toxic. If Luxray faints to a pokemon that is lower-leveled it cannot be used in the next gym. Name it bin Laden.

Recap:
~male Shinx with intimidate
~must lead in all gym battles unless conflicts with another challenge
~to evolve must land the finishing blow on 50 pokemon. 22 of those pokemon must belong to gym trainers, gym leaders, or Galactic Commanders
~must solo two gyms (not gym leaders) without going to the pokemon center or using items
~may never run from a pokemon battle
~can never switch out if its HP is red
~must know Toxic, Scary Face, Thunder Fang, and dark type move
~to be used in E4, must kill 30 pokemon with a combination of Thunder Fang paralysis & Scary face or Toxic & Scary Face
~can only kill pokemon weak to electric or dark with Toxic
~if faints to a pokemon lower-leveled cannot be used in next gym
~named bin Laden

yaya0 gets the most awesome special sweeper in the world. What? you don't know what that is? it's bastiodon ofcourse. That's right, you get a special sweeping bastiodon, to evolve it must know atleast 1 special attack and sandstorm and by the E4 it must have a moveset of thunder, blizzard, fire blast and sandstorm. To prove itself as a sweeper have it solo any 3 pokemon in the E4.
Good luck.

Lucky you, yaya0, you get a Gible. It must solo 1 of Candice's Pokemon as a Gabite

Also, I'd like to request 2 Scrambles. One for Gold and one for Platinum. I'd prefer no repeating types, and a Surfer and a Flyer are compulsory

TyranitarPhantom, I'll give you a strange challenge for Platinum.
First, take your Trainer ID, Add the digits together until you get a number between 1 & 23. Your Pokemon must be caught on that Route (e.g. 1=Route 201, 2=Route 202, etc.).
Then check the last digit on your Trainer ID. If it's odd, the Pokemon you catch must have an odd Pokedex number, if it's even, the Pokemon you catch must have an even Pokedex number. If there's no Pokemon on that Route with said Pokedex number, then go to the next Route in numerical order.
Lastly, with your ID, add the digits together until you get a single digit number, this will be how many lives your Pokemon has. If it loses all it's lives, it's gone forever. For every Gym Leader Pokemon it solos, it gains an extra life.

Here's an example: Your ID is 12612. The digits equal 12, so you must catch a Pokemon on Route 212, the last digit is an even number, so you must catch a Pokemon on that Route with an even Pokedex number, & the amount of lives that Pokemon has is 3.

Good luck, tell us what you get, & have fun.

@t-tar, For platinum you get a ponyta, it must have flash fire and the only item it can hold are occa berries, unless the first 1 you catch is holding a shuca berry, in which case the only item it can hold are shuca berries. This ponyta doesn't want to be thought of as a "my little pony" so it refuses to use special attacks. Have it solo any gym leader and flint's rapidash in the E4.
For gold you get a growlithe that thinks fire type moves are grrreat, so it can only use fire type moves. You must attempt to solo a gym leader of your choice and if you fail to do so after 3 tries growlithe can no longer use fire type moves but can now use other types.
Good luck.

@Tyranitarphantom: For Gold, take Timmy the Poliwag. Timmy is constantly getting distracted by the swirling on his stomach. So, when he is in battle, he can only use 4 moves before he gets distracted. After that, you must decide his move using a dice. 1 is move 1, 2 is move 2 etc., 5 is your choice between 1 and 2, 6 is your choice between 3 and 4. To evolve, you must solo Chuck's entire gym. After he evolves, he gets even more distracted by the swirling because it switches directions. Now he can only make 3 moves before getting distracted. However, he has better instinct so now 5 is roll again and 6 is your choice. To evolve again, you must solo a GLMP. When he evolves again he learns the martial arts and stops getting distracted. To prove that he doesn't get distracted he must solo an E4 member.

For platinum, you get a Shellos. Add all the digits in your trainer ID. 1=a, 2=b, 3=c...27=a, 28=b etc. Take that letter and find a type that starts with that letter. If one doesn't exist go the next one in alphabetical order and so on. If there is an E4 member or gym leader for that type, you must solo that gym leader/E4 member. If there is not, you must always hold the item that increases the type power of that type. (Silk Scarf, Spell Tag, Silver powder etc.). (Ex: Trainer ID=26896, Total=31, Letter=E, Type=Electric, Challenge=solo electric gym) If there are two possible types then you must choose the one that has an Gym leader or E4 member. If you choose to evolve Shellos he can only use moves that he learns from TMs or HMs and his STAB. Make sure to tell us your trainer ID!

EDIT: We both gave a Trainer ID challenge :toast:
