I currently work in analytical chemistry, for a company called Intertek (shameless plug). Intertek is a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world. From auditing and inspection, to testing, quality assurance and certification.
Our services take us into almost every field imaginable, such as textiles, toys, electronics, building, heating, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, food and cargo scanning. We operate a global network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices and over 21,000 people in 110 countries around the world.
Customers of Intertek include some of the world’s leading brands, major global and local companies and governments.
I work in the petroleum part of the business, as a lab rat running tests on smelly diesel and disgusting crude assays. Getting put through uni for free though and on a decent salary with a pension already (im 20 lol) so it's pretty sweet.
