Where do you work?

Buskid at two restaurants, although I should be moving up to waiter in a week or two at the one place. I'm 19, but I've never waited tables before so it's hard to find a job waiting. It's a bit of a catch-22 in that regard, but the one place has offered me a spot so at least I'll be able to say that I have some experience when I go back to school.

i'd rather bus than serve as long as i get tipout F__F serving can be goddam difficult.

to the haunter avatar kid if you want serious scratch, work 6 days a week 12 hours a day for 10/hour like i do ^__^

3 grand a month ^__^

it's cool that *admin* chaos and *admin* surgo have really cool jobs ;D

I'd say that serving and busing are difficult in different kinds of ways, but they're about equal in terms of difficulty. I'd rather make 3-4x more waiting tables rather than busing them, though.

I currently work in analytical chemistry, for a company called Intertek (shameless plug). Intertek is a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world. From auditing and inspection, to testing, quality assurance and certification.
Our services take us into almost every field imaginable, such as textiles, toys, electronics, building, heating, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, food and cargo scanning. We operate a global network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices and over 21,000 people in 110 countries around the world.
Customers of Intertek include some of the world’s leading brands, major global and local companies and governments.

I work in the petroleum part of the business, as a lab rat running tests on smelly diesel and disgusting crude assays. Getting put through uni for free though and on a decent salary with a pension already (im 20 lol) so it's pretty sweet.

This Summer I am a student assistant at the California Department of Transportation. There is currently a huge project going on, so I get an insane number of hours each week, and accordingly an insane amount of overtime. It has nearly destroyed my social life, but the pay is good, and it's good experience since I'm a Structural Engineering major at university.

In addition, Smogon user Cooper works at a Frozen Yogurt shop called Yogurtopia (though they apparently don't actually use yogurt =P ). I made him show me how to use the register, and now whenever cooper is working I go there and literally do his job for him for no pay other than soft-serve ice cream. Sometimes I bring my brother and my girlfriend and we play Settlers of Catan.

I have been working here for the past two years: http://www.continentalsports.co.uk/

I suppose I have bonded with nearly everyone who works there. The majority are easy to get along with. That alone keeps me working there now.

When browsing through the site, further down the 'Trampolines' section you will find a male operating a 'Safe Lift' design that is one of our many quality products. He is my boss in the department I work in.

Random paperwork/etc at my dad's trucking company. It isn't that bad, 20-25 hours or so a week at $8 an hour which is decent I guess.

I work at Baya Pointe Nursing Facility as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), where I mostly assist the other nurses, clean and feed the residents, and sometimes bathe them. I do minimal paperwork and rarely get breaks. But for $10 an hour (35-40 hours a week), I'm not complaining.

I...work at Chuck E. Cheese.

I make Pizza, serve guests, bus tables... and yes... I have to wear the rat suit occasionally.

It's an ok job though. My co-workers are great, and we get some pretty sweet perks (free games/pizza)

Oh, the head office is in Texas, and we're in Missouri (the closest part of Missouri to Texas) so we get visitors from the head office pretty often.

I work here launching new projects. Currently I'm doing a slow one, so my job is very light work and very boring. Essentially I'm a sales superforce, so they put me where I'm needed, strategically.

I work at my local Dollar General. There are hardly no good work opportunities in one of the 5 poorest counties in the poorest state in the nation, except if I want to work at a coal mine or a saw mill. I work about 30 hours average a week during the summer, but I get to keep the job for the weekends whenever I am in school. It's quite busy, since I'm working in the most popular store in the county.

If you see the catalog for ordering uniforms (I think all the managers get one), my dad is a model (lol) for a few of the shirts. He's the middle-aged Indian guy.

Heh, reminds me of when I worked at Coldstones three years back D:

Right now, I work for a "cram school" so to speak, and tutor kids there on the SATs and stuff. I also privately tutor about 5 kids on various subjects

30 hours of tutoring a week = D: D: D:

I work at Burger King. I am mainly cashier but everynow and ten i make the burgers and random stuff (mainly cleaning). If the head manager isnt there, i eat basicly anything for free.

p.s. kill me

p.s.s what is so good working at coldstone. Everyon ei know wants to work there. Dont they have to sing if somebody gives them a tip. Well at least i get free ice cream when i am there

I currently work here (and worked there last summer as well; I don't work during the school year) at the Hastings location. Considering my dad is the manager of that location, I'd say it's a pretty nice job. I get decent pay ($6.50/hour) and enjoy my work, so I am happy with it.

Im a trainee quantity surveyor in the first year of my 5 year program, basically they pay my fees and everything, and I have a full time job + uni 1 day a week, which is obviously pretty decent for an 18 year old, hopefully Il move up to management level.

sophos antivirus, software engineering intern

i sit around all day on a £17000 salary

I work at Petco in Huntington Beach, CA and in Costa Mesa. There I am a Team Lead (lower management) and a Bird specialist. I love it there (at the Costa Mesa store atleast).

My dad owns a trucking company as well. He makes do stuff for him for free, saying we're family and other stuff, just to get me to do it. There is no use arguing he'll win. My parents are strict.
