Who is Layell?

I'm a youngish guy living in Toronto, Canada who loves theater, politics, and video games. I spent six years doing nothing in particular on Smogon and then worked my butt off to get some stuff done. I am the current Sprite Leader of Smogon and PS! What that means is I do all the dirty maintenance work on sprites and bring the great pixel art to the masses!

Achievements

Founder and Co-leader of the XY Sprite Project.
Responsible for PS! April Fools Day sprites for 2013 and 2014.
Received the title of "Punlord Layell" for excellence in groan-inducing puns.

Art preferences

I really enjoy doing Pokémon pixel art, but that does not in any way include trainer sprites (so no, I will not make a trainer sprite for you). I have never done many other types of pixel art, but in my experience, once I figure out the rules and constraints of a pixel art style, I am able to accomplish a lot.

Lately, I have been retexturing Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Project M to make the art style more like Smash 4 and contemporary Nintendo games.
