Eventhough I love Quagsire, it's not very good because it doesn't really stop Rain Dance(Ludicolo can beat it with energy ball, or grass knot even though energy ball is better, and Kingdra can beat it with Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse), and the fact that Quagsire isn't threatening at all. It's offensive stats aren't very good, and it can't really do much that I couldn't find a pokemon who is better at doing its job. But Quagsire is still very neat, and if you want to continue testing it and prove me wrong by succeeding with it in the showdown, that's great, you would be the innovator of a new successful strategy but until then, I just don't think Quagsire could really be used efectively. And about your other point where making your two leads designed to counter one team is not a good idea, especially when it's Trick Room, I agree completely. The main counters to Trick Room are pokemon that are destroyed by fast, sweeping Offense like a Rain Dance team, so even though you will be able to beat Trick Room consistantly, you will lose to Rain teams consistantly too. In a tournament like this, it's best to use the most consistant team.

And at the post about the Rotom forms, they are not allowed, and the original Rotom is not allowed either.

That's very true. Quagsire doesn't have much going for it offensively but I was not talking about the Video Game Showdown and Nintendo's format. Quagsire has been rather good for me in 6vs6 Doubles (clauses and all) and it works well there because you have more Pokemon to work with. But yeah, he's not aggressive enough for this but it could be fun towards the end. :p

I've EV'd a Quagsire that can take 3 non-Life Orbed Dragon Pulses from Kingdra with Leftovers recovery so it's not like he's THAT fragile.

I have a question... Where did the name "Good Stuffs" come from? It's sounds kind of... lame. :F

Viper, here are a few of my quick suggestions for your team. ;)

Zapdos = Have Detect over Protect; that way it wll never get Imprisoned. Thunderbolt is better on your team over Discharge. For the last spot, if you can manage it, try getting HP Ice or Grass, since those are really the only other two good options; Light Screen can provide support for Metagross though. It's just a matter of what you think you will need to help against. ;) Modest is probably the best nature if you can get it, along with a lot of Speed and Sp. Attack with some HP.

Metagross = For the EVs, have a decent amount of HP and a lot of Attack. as for attacks, get rid of pursuit for Meteor Mash; you have Heat Wave on Zapdos and bullet Punch, so most likely the lv. 1 Smeargle will die anyways. Pursuit just isn't worth it. Other than that it looks good enough.

Snorlax = Snorlax NEEDS Return or Body Slam. lol maybe you just forgot, so I'll cut you slack. :P Get rid of Earthquake imo for Return. EVs should probably be a lot of HP and Attack, with maybe a bit in SpD. ;) sitrus berry would be good.

Azelf = Have 252 Attack and 6 SpA for the remaining EVs. the rest actually looks good, though Protect should be replaced with something else. If anything, have it know Detect instead, since IIRC it can learn it. Go see if Azelf gets any good Platinum move tutors to fill that void. ;)

@quantum = micuat is the one who originally said it I think, so it might be something that the Japanese call it. I personally think it's not lame at all, but to each his own I suppose. :P

Thank you so much PBB! I was thinking of return on snorlax, but i DO NOT want to get walled by a dusk, forgot about crunch lol.
Thanks for the vids, skarm.

@quantum

the name came from micuat who is from japan. we all decided to call it that when he told us that. and when i say we its the originall members who posted here almost everyday like for example Me, Viper, PBB, and micuat.lol i personally like the name and dont thinks its lame. ;D

My guess is that he forgot that Bullet Punch and Fake Out are at the same priority level, and therefore Metagross would move first, being that Smeargle is at lv. 1. x)

Yeah, thats why I wouldn't use a Lv. 1 Smeargle :D In my opinion it's way to easy to get countered because of the people expecting it. I'm actually thinking of a new team for the Showdown. My Skill Swap Slaking combo is wearing me thin :D

And hey PBB!

A Lv. 1 Smeargle does have its strong suits though...the team in the video portrayed that very well...

It was just rotten coincidence that same priority moves were used when they did...

Hey BBEXP ;)

Yeah, most of the time lv. 1 Smeargle can wreak at least a little havoc before they faint; that one didn't though, it just failed to the goodstuffs team. :P

thats true cause if it were me i would have faked outed the latios instead cause metagross is the only pokemon out of the 2 he was fighting that know a speed attack.

also LV.1 smeargle are very dangerous with its endavour attack it can seriously put some hurt on your opponents most threatning pokemon

If I were him, I would have switched Smeargle to Marowak because Smeargle would 2HKOed by Bullet Punch even if Fake Outed Latios, and there were no Taunt user.

well cant stay on for long so hows your team looking for showdown in japan? do you have a strong competition your worrying about?

I found one of my old firereds, so i can SR for zapdos without restarting my other one.
@PBB, what about the pics? I dont want to be a bother or anything lol

I'm looking to practice for VGS, but since most people dislike the nintendo rules, they don't play these rules. But I need some people to play with.

well dude as for me i cant play so sorry. you'll have to wait for someone else to get on. or go to the wifi section and ask for a battle there.

everyone in the tourny that kenshin made what do you thin your chances of winning are? mine should be pretty good since iv been practicing since this thread started. lol

Average only because all my Teams are incomplete at some level (Not EV'd, Doesn't have Proper Nature with Desired IVs, Not All the Moves they need, All of the Above, etc.). Breeding Hidden Power, and even finding parents, for my upcomming team has been a pain enough.

Honestly, I don't think my chances are very good. My teams are not built for the Showdown metagame. They're built for games where:

1. You see your opponent's team before you choose your leads
2. All Pokémon levels are scaled to 50 (no Lvl 1 Smeargles)
3. Sleep clause is in effect

...etc., etc. These may not seem like a big deal, but the first one especially makes a huge difference.
