Hrm, I might be at my grandmother's house in Reading around then (it's very close to Philly) but I suck at battling :(

If someone (hi tts) gives me a team I might consider driving since I'm pretty close. Put me down for "maybe" heh
Jimbo: that Mamoswine you bred could cause trouble in Doubles. Common Pokes are pissed off by Earthquake (Metagross) and Priority attacks. IMO, get an Abomasnow and run Hail.

I'll be going to Philly with my m8 Bulldozer667. No idea what we will be wearing, so we will gather around TTS, lol.

I concur, Evan. The only upside I guess is that the early start time will probably serve to discourage some people from going. It won't counteract the fact it's the only stop in the Northeast, though. Depending on how things go, I may very well road trip to the nationals >_>

Hell, I would go with ya. Not sure about Dozer, but why the hell not, right? :)

Will the battles be held on the ds or on a tv screen with PBR where you can see the opponents team?
If it's like last year, it will be on DS for the Qualifiers and such. Only the Finals do PBR. Lame :\

QUESTION: The 6 Pokemon on your sign-up sheet, can you swap any of your initial 4 members (if you want different leads) between battles, and how about your 6?

Related to this, when you move from Qualifiers to Nationals, do you get the chance to pick 6 NEW Pokemon?

So is the Pokemon info sheet a clear indicator that it will be a 6->4 format a la PBR?

EDIT: nvm, this was addressed by a previous post.

Hm, I live like 30 minutes away, I may very well go. Unfortunately most of my well EVed Pokemon are over level 50... If anyone wants to help me out making a team, I have a fantastic HP [Grass 70] Timid Heatran to offer.

I will be there if a Smogon meet-up goes down. Aside from that, I really have no interest in Nintendo's format.

I can offer help to those that need it, to a special extent.

Why exactly did they leave out LA, New York, and Chicago? That is beyond me. Good Luck guys. Im not gonna spend a shitload of money to get to San Fransisco just to get my ass handed to me.

They should have added the major cities in America this year.If my mom has to work at her office in San Fran this summer I'll be there.

Edit: Shit, its in May. I suck in competitive battling. I'll train this year and wait till 2010.

It's too bad they didn't place a few more regionals. Maybe one in Chicago and one in Denver. As it is, I'm going to have to drive 14 hours and 51 minutes to get to the closest one, according to Google Maps.

So its 128 per age division, my guess is the juniors will be more populated and the seniors will have less people, so if you're part of the senior division i wouldn't get to disheartened, good luck to the juniors though.

Looking back at New York last year, it was originally 128 by online drawing but only 31 in the senior division showed up, so 97 of us got in by the outdoor lottery while I heard an extra 4 including WER did not get in. Hopefully we'll have the same luck this year if we make the trip.

Apparently the locastions were based on centers of population. Philly was chose because it's in the middle of the Northeast and Boswash. Nashville is accessible from most of the Southeast. Dallas is for the south, Phoenix is for the Southwest, San Francisco is for the West, and Seattle is for the Northwest. Nationals is for the Midwest and places like The Dakotas and Chicago.

Well, apparently I'm going, possibly with a friend or two, and one of my friend' little brother (who's in juniors). This stop is messed up, as it attracts people from all over the Northeast and Canada. I'm going to be a kid with curly black hair, either a home-made smogon shirt (just like skarm's in JAA) or a Fly Rayquaza shirt, and I'll possibly look young compared to you guys. If only I could get to Nashville.

Well I'm hopefully going to go to PA if my dad is willing to take me. The whole not registering thing is completely stupid.

I'm in New Jersey so I have to drive all the way out there and I may not even get picked... god, I hope I have some good luck that day haha!

Hopefully see you guys in Philly!

Might go...
Though it's pretty far from here
And I can't go to the nationals because my camp ends on that day T_T

They need more stops like the JAA.

It's about 2-3 hours away from where I live in NJ, but I'll definitely go, the only problem is I hope I that I get selected!

The lack of advanced registration makes me a bit uneasy. I don't want to have to drive to Missouri >:O

Exactly, I don't want to drive three hours to King of Prussia and then find out I'm not in it, basically I'd be driving there for a Shiny Milotic haha.

Do you think that there will be a lot of Seniors this year at King of Prussia?

I can almost guarantee that a majority of the seniors that made it to New York will do their best to make it to King of Prussia, so I anticipate quite a crowd, especially since it's in a much more convenient location to get to rather than having to drive into downtown New York and look for parking.

hmm only one tournament per country in europe sucks badly...judging from the rules and regulations I read only 12 people total (6 per division) from europe will participate in the world champs, which means you have to get to the final in one of the tourneys :/

they should at least let everyone in who travels to one of the places, on the other hand if you´re one of the lucky 128 you need only 6 wins

Berlin is around 800km away (500 miles) from my place which is not that bad and I speak German pretty good...

to attend the US tourneys you just need an US platinum, so I wonder if the same applies to european tourneys:

1. whether the country you come from matters
2. whether I need a german DP version or any other DP (I don´t see the point why this should matter anyway)

well, I have a bit of time to decide whether the trip is worth it

in the rules, it says the europe qualifyers/worlds need 'a European version of POKÉMON® Diamond or POKÉMON® Pearl (for European Events)"
