so in a sense they are 5-6 pages of posts saying the same thing? lol nice. well, i better be a little more precise in what i am asking for starters i guess.

fire: fire/dark, a houndoom 2.0, nothing more, nothing else.

water: water/eletric, i want a offensive lanturn god dammit!

grass: pure grass, anything work fine, has long he is unique.

no NU dragon btw.

I don't want another Water/Electric. I want Lanturn's family line to be unique. If they give him an evolution, I'd be fine with that but not another branch. If they evolved Lanturn, they'll evolve his crappy alter-ego Lumineon.

^ Agreed. I like Lanturn being unique :D

I don't like it when Nintendo take something unique about a Pokemon(or a small group) and give it to a new Pokemon or something. Weather Ball used to be really exclusive, but now quite a few Pokemon have it. Head Smash was Rampardos's move but then the HGSS move tutor came along...

This is, IMO, the best guess for the grass starter yet. I really hope that it's something close to that, I love the design.

I dunno but if you look at the silhouette itself, the feet of the one on the left look unlike any other pokemon feet I've seen yet.
They definitely don't look like bird feet or even dragon feet. Also, if you notice what many believe to be the neck, but in the picture is a head, it seems a bit too lumpy to be a neck and too small for a head, even a bird's head like in that picture. It's a bit too disproportional to me. Also, the what would be the arms look way too small when you consider it's legs are of equal, if not shorter, length than the arms. And finally, the weird beak thing that comes out of it's neck/head. I suppose this is the reason many think it could even be a bird but, generally, in the past, all of the starters had full appendages in arms and legs, whereas in that picture, it has no arms.
The tail structure is also interesting, again, no other pokemon has a tail like that. Which makes me think, maybe it's not even a tail fin. Maybe it's connected to what would be the beak and the tail just happens to overlap it in the silhouette.
I dunno, food for thought.

Oh wait, one more thing, the "bunny's" ears. If you look at the ear on the left, it seems to be moved upward just slightly. It also appears to be longer than other ear which makes it seem as though, it's either bent at a very weird angle or actually attached to each other which could very well mean it's a leaf(Chikorita clone!)

Then finally, the one on the right. The enormous head seems to be a hat of some sort to me. Starters generally tend to be fully mobile in that they can move their entire body. If it's head was actually that big, it seems as though it's neck would be far too bulky to even move it's head which would make it a sort of waddle-for-movement pokemon which doesn't seem right when you consider the other starters.

Ehh... Hopefully tomorrow they get revealed. Saturday is too long of a wait.

Grass/Dragon starter would be the single sexiest Grass starter since forever.

That is all.

sceptile which is basically grass/dragon without the stab on dragon moves. I'd be all over a revamped grass/dragon sceptile since leaf blade being physical messes it up a little.

The fan-arts based on the left starter never look any good. It's probably because the left starter is just an ugly shaped Pokemon. It's not cute which most starters are but then again...we got Treecko and Chimchar.

NLMRY, are those real? They look retarded :'( haha

No and I didn't make them, I just wanted to share them since I liked the grass one. I think the bird design is a whole lot better and much more imaginative than the lizard thing everyone keeps drawing.

I would want the Grass to be either a bird (seems unique enough), the Fire to be some sort of pig, and the Water to be either a PLATYPUS or a Frog-like amphibious Pokemon. Damn I am excited to see these new starters...

The more I look at the right one, the more I'm seeing the possibility of a platypus.
The feet could very well be webbed and the tail might be a paddle tail.
What appears to be a bulge around the neck could be the sides of the tip of the beak-like snout.
Basically, take the polka-dot frog from the fan art above and imagine the light blue lower face area to be the snout.
I guess we'll find out within the week.

Agreed. I 100% doubt that they will do it though. They probably don't want to have a dragon type (perceived as "the strongest pokemon type") as a starter.

I think Grass/Dragon would be an amazing type combo though, depending on the stats.
2x Weak to Bug, Dragon, Poison, Flying
4x Weak to Ice
Neutral to Fire
.5x to Ground
.25x to Electric, Water, Grass

Can I have my Dragon/Fighting already? Or better yet, turn Dragonite into a Dragon/Fighting

Dragonite always seemed so odd to me. In so many ways, he seems like a parody of the traditional European dragon...he's fat, his wings are ridiculously tiny, he has no teeth or claws to speak of, he rescues people instead of eating them, etc. Then in Gen 3, Gamefreak created Salamence, your standard mean-looking dragon. Doesn't it seem like they should have done Salamence first?

Anyway, that's a cool idea. Dragon/Fighting would go with the concept of Dragonite being a "knight" (at least, that's how I always saw his name), turn a crippling SR weakness into a resistance, and differentiate him from Salamence. Trouble is, it might make him a little too good...I don't think anything resists both Dragon and Fighting, since the only type that resists Dragon is Steel. STAB Close Combats coming off 134 base Attack is not a fun prospect. That type combo would be cool, but let's give it to something with stats that aren't quite so godly.

Edit: GAH forgot about that asshole Shedinja. Still, that's only one out of 493 (not counting Kitsunoh from CAP) so I think it's safe to say Dragon/Fighting would be pretty beastly.

Shedinja resists it, a steel/ghost type would resist it as well so the typing wouldn't be so bad if a steel/ghost type was introduced. (Providing the steel/ghost is good that is)
