Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Well I went ahead and called to verify frame 113, then talked to Mewtwo. Aaand got the wrong one...
Now I get to have fun trying to hit my seed again, hopefully it shouldn't take too long this time.

Edit: I officially love PikaTimer! Got my seed again, 2nd try! Now I just have to not screw it up.

I have been attempting to calibrate my DS so I can RNG but there is something wrong with my seconds. I believe that I was following the directions in the article but I will explain my steps so please tell me if I am doing something wrong. All pokemon I caught were at lvl 47-48 if that makes a difference. I am using a DS Lite and Pokemon Platinum.

1) Calibrated clock to Vista clock
2) Reset at 0 sec mark
3) Caught pokemon as fast as Possible
4) Inserted Stats into seed finder
5) Got seed

The sec and delays I got were: 17 611, 23 599, 25 599, 33 591, 41 615, 44 609, 47 603

The delay seems right but I don't know what is causing the second values to climb like that. Any help would be appreciated.

Noob question...Can someone be very specific as to what "Double Taps" on the Happiness Checker are. I know I have double tapped the correct amount of times three different times (and the correct number of Coin Flip taps), but I'm still not getting my shiny egg.

Are you using a synchronizer and generating the seed using the method K?

A douple tap is when you very quickly tap the DS screen two times, making to Pokemon on the Happiness Checker App Jump.

You just double tap the Happiness APP so all the Pokemon on it jump.

Are you in an area with weather conditions?
Are you sure you dont have international parents?
Are you making sure to only go past the Hapiness APP once?

All of those above will mess up the IRNG.
And then theres the obvious one where you just messed up the amount of taps =/

Read the how to use pikatimer in the 1st page of this thread.

idiotfrommars: From the delays, you're speed isn't consistent enough. You can use pikatimer later on to adjust this, but for your first breed I suggest finding a comfortable speed to work with. As with the seconds, I'm unsure as to why it'd climb like that. As long as you update the clock on RNG Reporter with the correct time upon hitting continue before entering in your IVs, you should be fine.

Skippy the Great: Double tap = tapping twice in rapid succession so the pokemon jumps. I can suggest that the first screen on the poketch thingy should be the one with all pokemon in your party (doesn't really matter what screen as long as its not the happiness checker screen). Also, when you switch between screens, don't let any of the screens show - ie do it fast so it jumps the numbers only.

Also, if you're tapping ridiculous amounts, then there's always a chance of making a mistake no matter how unplausible it is. It's why I gave up on shiny breeding at first until Jubilee suggested Shiny Egg Finder (if you're using this, then nvm). Using that will decrease the amount of taps significantly. Also, a common mistake is if you're using international parents to have the international version of Egg PID selected.

EDIT: goshalee you people are fast, XD.

That's what I thought. I guess I could have messed it up, beings this thing refuses to let me hit a stating frame of less than 7,000+.

*EDIT* @ Bakus: I am using the Shiny Egg Finder (not trying for IVs yet). I still get a start frame that is 7,000+.

Frame? I don't remember you having to do any frame advancements on Shiny Egg Finder - do you mean RNG advancements or is my memory that foggy? XD

In any case, Shiny Egg Finder shouldn't require anything that high. Try adjusting your date a bit and I think it should change.

Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology, or maybe I'm missing a step somewhere? Here's what I've done so far...

I have one Parent in the Day-Care.

I have 5 Pokes in my party, and went to a grassy area not far from the Day Care, and saved.

I calibrated my clock.

I catch a wild Poke as fast as I can, and then check it;s nature, and IVs.

I put the nature and IVs into the Seed Finder (with the Shiny Only box clicked on).

I get my Seed (usually a number around 600).

I hit Generate, and then my first option (being the lowest number on the list), is always 7,000+. To be exact, my last attempt was 9,572. This is the number right below where it says Frame in the RNG Reporter main screen.

Ah - you're doing it the other way. Using Shiny Egg Finder means opening up time finder and clicking on the Shiny Egg tab. It's a bit more difficult since it requires you hit your delay for the shiny egg (and you have to hit your delay again for IVs later on). But doing it this way, much less taps are required - below 100.

For your case:
Have 5pokemon in your party and none in the daycare. Meaning the two parents are in your party - I think this is what went wrong. And then you do exactly as you've written.
-- My goodness you've been doing 7000+ taps? You're amazingly dedicated at this!

EDIT: Having 5pokemon in your party initially (parents included) is beneficial in the end as well; after putting your parents in the daycare, you have 4pokemon + future egg + one more slot to catch pokes to verify your save frame later on.

No...that would be insane. :P When I right click the Frame number, and then select PokeTech Taps, I get a number of around 800 - 900 double taps, and then the coin flip taps.

I'll take the other parent out of the daycare, and then dump one of my current Pokes in my party into my PC, (giving me the 5 w/ no Pokes in the Day Care) and see if I get better results.

Oh, whew, lol. I figured it would be...but thought maybe I'm just really really lazy, XD.

It seems like you're doing everything right though, it should work now ^_^

Not sure about time, but having an AR in will affect the delays you get if during calibration you didn't use it. Not only that, but if you are using an AR code, then use the same ones every time. A different combination will also affect the delays you get since it starts up at differently with codes selected, lol.

EDIT: Wow...those sentences were definitely coherent, XD. I'm tired at 2? Much too early for that, ahaha.
and you're welcome 2.B.A. Master - glad I could be of service ^^

Weird...

Hello, I am back but only for a short moment though

I have a quick question regarding the WiFi Jirachi Wondercard on HG:

It's Method one with a starting frame of 1, right?

Volbeat and Illumise are of the species, so when RNGing one, how can I be aware which the egg will produce? I'm using the Shing Egg Finder, so I can't just continually get more eggs until it has the desired Nature/Ability and Poke.

Volbeats are male.

Ilumises are female.

You people should really create the habit of looking this up at serebii's/ psypoke's/ Bulbapedia's pokedex.

I was already aware of their genders. However, last time I tried that, I got the incorrect Pokemon.

Just a question here:
when calibrating your delay and seconds is it soppose to fluctuate
cause I only got like 57,57,45,23,21 as far as I know I checked with vista clock and I saw that I went in game at like 14-15 sec,so I don't know what's wrong :(
someone help me please

@acetrainerzx: method wondercard frame 1 on RNG Reporter.

I've been trying the bug catching contest in National Park and so far it clearly doesn't seem to match nor correspond with Method K non-synch as I've targeted frame 206 only to get what appears to be that of frame 248. Next time I shifted back in difference only to get a different spread from another frame. I'm using a smeargle with sweet scent, spore & false swipe which means the lack of a synchronizer there. It appears the species, gender & spread get determined at time of catch at least.
