Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Soo..I restarted my HG file, and I wanted to RNG abuse Ho-oh. And I have a few questions:
Do the Irwin calls advance the RNG Just like the Elm calls? or does it only verify the seed?
Do the calls work on top of the Bell Tower?
This might be kinda stupid but im paranoid x] When you switch out the first Pokemon in your party, does it advance your RNG or do anyhting? Because then I can switch out Abra with some other Pokemon to Verify what seed I hit.
This is Irrelevant but I also wanted to get Oaks Charmander.
For Method 1, theres something called an actual and a time? What is the actual and time used for?
Thanks.

The all calls (as far as I know) do advance the frames. Im not sure how much frame advancement for every person on the call list, but I do know that "Joey" does advance the frames by "2" when he is NOT looking for a Battle.

Phones to not work on top of the bell tower, however, you can make your calls to confirm and advance the room level Below the top. As long as you do not make over 127 steps to advance frames, you'll be fine.

The Items, Pokedex, and Pokemon Summary menu do not influence the Frames advancement in any way. Also, I do not understand why you need to move you Sync-er out to confirm. It should not matter.

As for RNGing the Starters, while I know its Method 1, I never bothered since I can just Bred them, lol.

Not sure if this should go here, or SQ/SR, but...

I am looking for anyone willing to drop some info into thier Time Finder and send me the Seed Hex. My Time Finder doesn't work, but if I can get the Seed Hex, I can copy that into my Seed to Time and find out what I need to know.

Here's my info...

Min/Max Delays: Always even, between 590 and 602 (give me a little lead way though)
Frame: 3
Month/Year: 7/2010
Seconds: 14
Target IV Spread: 31/31/31/*/31/31
Parent A: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Parent B: 20/31/23/31/30/7

This will be for Platinum version.

how does walking advance the RNG? it says 128 steps advances it by the number of pokemon in your party but that it is saved and doesnt reset upon soft resetting.. does hard resetting reset it?

Aside from restarting the game, NOTHING will reset it. But the odds of the 128 cycle messing up your frames is... well 1 in 128. It'll only happen if your not careful really.

@Skippy: It's better to put it in the SQ/SR thread, but here's what I found:
140F0264; Delay: 602. Frame: 7.
46070262; Delay: 600. Frame: 3.
D2110260; Delay: 598. Frame 3.
120E025E; Delay: 596. Frame: 7.
C103025C; Delay: 594. Frame: 5.

I just grabbed the lowest frame for each even delay it brought up.

Looking for some major help concerning the HG/SS Shiny Egg and Egg IV Abuse RNG.

Problem

Basically what is happening is that I've consistently not been able to get the desired IV's when RNG'ing for them. I have no clue as to what may be the cause to this problem; I can always get a Shiny Pokemon with the desired Nature, Ability and Gender but getting the correct IV's for the Pokemon is whole different story. I've chosen seeds in which the Frame is 9 so I would be able to make 8 Elm calls bu even if I hit my seed (Verified by the Elm Calls), The outcome IV's of the Shiny Pokemon are always messed up and such.

Possible Causes?
After hitting my seed (When RNG'ing for the Egg IV's), I often open up the summary of the Pokemon in my Party and check how many more steps the Egg will need before hatching; could this be the cause of my messed up IV's?

Based on some recent soul silver headbutting activity, I have at least determined that the starting frame is at 3 and method K works. I have not determined encounter slots as I've been using trial and error in order to recently get shroomish and exeggcute as of lately though I did not retry each of their frames to determine whether its random or not. It seems each tree is determined whether or not a wild pokemon will exist and always exists if same tree has been headbutted before.

Are either parents holding a power item? If so, this will mess up the results completly.

Have you been able to find out what frame you have hit? If so, and if it's only off by one or two, then it may be that the NPC thats further down in the route turned. You can see what frame your on with elm calls (to check, see what elm says and find that in the spreads. To see which one you will hit, see the next frame's IVs). Say frame 8 he talks about pokerus, and your target is 9(where he talks about evolution). If you call him and he talks about pokerus, you should get frame 9 IVs. If evolution, you'll get frame 10.

Are all your roamers KOed, since they do advance the RNG which you may not be accounting for.

The IVs are set when you get the egg from the daycare man. After that, you can make your character do the lambada and won't affect the IVs.

The parents must NOT be holding power items.
Chose a higher frame, 12 - 15. Enter the game press X to "open" the menu and freeze the NPC. Call Elm and register the calls somewhere else, so after you verified you can see if the first 2 or 3 were skipped thanks to the NPC moving. Each skipped call = 1 frame. Lets say you wanted something on frame 9 as you said. You made 8 calls - which is strage, since RNGreportaer asks for 9 and that would out the egg on frame 10 if the npc doesn't move - but well, you did 8 calls but didn't see that the first 2 were skipped - RNG reporter recognize that the call were skipped and still verifies the seed but it doesn't warn you about it - this put your egg at frame 10 instead of 8 and when you got it, the IVs were on frame 11.

after being inspired by Expert Evan's sensational headbutt pokes as seen in Discuss My Pokemon, I was wondering where I could find information regarding RNG'ing headbutt trees. I'd like to know whether the process is just the same except the poke that appears is random, and how much does headbutting a tree advance the frame by.

does RNG abuse necesitate illegal hacking of the pokemon games?

Not at all, none whatsoever. You might want to re-think your signature. RNG is not a "hack", it's a way to know when, were and how the pokes will be generated and placing yourself there when it happens.

Hi, I read that You can skip eggs by calling Youngster Joey for your shiny egg. My target this time is on frame 9. Do I call Joey 4 times to total 8 and then generate the egg?

I used Elm calls to verify my seed for the shiny egg, I was wondering if that already advanced my frame or something.

Calling Elm doesn't advance the Egg RNG, calling Joey does. So for a target frame of 9, you can call Elm to verify, then call Joey 4 times. Note that this only works if Joey is not seeking a rematch when you call him.

if you are asking for help, these are questions you need to be answering in your post.

What are you trying to capture\hatch? Please specify whether you are attempting to breed a shiny Pokémon, breed IVs onto a Pokémon, or capture a Pokémon.

What is your target seed and frame? What is the delay of that seed?

How did you verify your seed? If using Elm's responses or coin flips to verify, tell us what YOU got. Not what RNG Reporter says.

If you tried and failed, what results did you get? You NEED to know this so you can figure out what went wrong. Results are either the IV\nature of the Pokemon you caught, or an ID\SID if you are attempting ID\SID abuse.

ok so here is my problem;
What are you trying to capture\hatch?
I am attempting to abuse the event Jirachi inside the cerulean pokemart where there are no wandering NPC's
What is your target seed and frame? What is the delay of that seed?

Seed: 28150521

Frame: 53

Date: 2010 12 24

Time: 21:08:00

Delay: 1303
How did you verify your seed?
This is where I am having problems, I have been attempting to verify the seed through Prof. Elm phone calls and, for some reason, they keep being completely different from the seed I am targeting, I keep getting the "No Match was found for your Elm responses" Message

If you tried and failed, what results did you get?
Here is one of my Elm Results;
K P P E P P K P K

My ID is 19709 and my SID is 04783, if you can help me with my problem, I would really appreciate it.

Hey guys, I've been trying to do this lately first with a Suicune, then after I gave up and caught it with a Ho-Oh. I've been having endless amount of trouble hitting the right delay.

First, let me make sure I understand this correctly. Delay is the amount of frames (at 30fps?) between the game starting (i.e. soft reset) and pressing continue, correct? So, if I have a time of 1-1-2010 9:09:50 and a delay of 700, for example, I have to press continue at the exact moment the clock is at 9:09:50 AND the frames since the game started is 700?

Given the above, I've tried for hours and gotten within 5 frames (using Elm to check the seed), but never hit the right target seed exactly. A few questions:

-Is there a way to have a target "delay range" or something?
-I can figure out which seed I did hit easily enough; can I use that to find a good frame to advance to for a good IV spread?
-Finally, is there an easy way to find a seed where I don't have to worry about delay and just spam A until I'm in the game (i.e. no Pikatimer).

Thanks for any help, I'd really like to get this down.

First, let me make sure I understand this correctly. Delay is the amount of frames (at 30fps?) between the game starting (i.e. soft reset) and pressing continue, correct?Delay is the time it takes your game to enter the game world after you have soft resetted and it's also counted with frames but these don't have nothing to do with Advancing the Frames for the Poke you are RNGing So, if I have a time of 1-1-2010 9:09:50 and a delay of 700, for example, I have to press continue at the exact moment the clock is at 9:09:50 AND the frames since the game started is 700? Not exactly since you can just enter like 3 min earlier to the game and wait until that time, but because of that you were still gaining more a more delay before entering the world up to the point that i could have resetted or just reached a very high delay

If you are not using Pikatimer you will have to do the initial Calibration Steps to know what is your usual delay range
-I can figure out which seed I did hit easily enough; can I use that to find a good frame to advance to for a good IV spread?
You can do that but there are very low chances of getting a good spread in a random seed, but still there's the possibility of it
-Finally, is there an easy way to find a seed where I don't have to worry about delay and just spam A until I'm in the game (i.e. no Pikatimer).
You can try that and search for an specific delay or a delay range in the RNG reporter in the time finder just put as min and max the range you obtained or just the same delay and hopefully you will get a good seed that you can use for a good spread

Thanks for any help, I'd really like to get this down.

Hope this helped you, either way I'm not really an expert but i have been through this and wanted to share my opinion :)

Hey I'm trying to calibrate my game for delays and what not, where is the highest place you can catch Pokemon in SS/HG? I don't have an AR so I need the highest level to assure the IV's of the pokemon

If you have not captured Kyogre/Groudon/Rayqueza, then use them to help you calibrate since they are easy to get to right away. If they are already captured, go to Mt. Silver, as they have the Highest level pokemon found in the wild, and then rare candie them until you get to level 50.

Hello

I have been using RNG on pretty much every Generation 4 game for sometime now. One of my favorites is RNG my ID/SID so I may capture Legendary Pokemon with the desired PID for shiny and IV combos. I'm now in the process of going to Emerald, and I want to know how to do the same in that game. I used the Search here and google, and tried to read as much as I can of the 900+ pages of this topic, but I still can not find how to RNG abuse my IDs on Emerald.

If anyone can shed some light on how the game dictates the IDs that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

From my original post. Can anyone help me with this?

As far as I know it is impossible to RNG your ID/SID in Emerald.

What's the best way to find good shiny/IV seeds for my TID and SID? Do I just use the "capture" tab for different methods/ high IVs/natures, etc in the Time Finder and wait a few days at a time, or is there a better, faster way?

Okay need help with this one:

145.png

Bold

I used Java RNG and fond this spread:
31/14/31/30/31/31 HP GRASS 70

When I look in Microsoft Excel I see this under column A:

b71308a4
What are in columns B,C,D, and F?

sombody? :/

sombody? :/

B is the target frame, i.e. the frame on which you will get the specified IV's.

C is what the PID would be for a pokemon caught on that seed and frame (I think)

D can be ignored

F is which ability you will get, because some species of pokes have 2 possible abilities.

THankyou! Now, are there any NPC's by Zapdos Ihave to worry about?

and

For my calibrated delay in PikaTimer....where am i supposed to get the number? The only delays i've calibrated so far are the ones in my Diamond which was 624. Is 495 just a default?
