Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

CRAP! So a I'm RNG for Shiny/Nature/Ability for breeding. I manage to hit my delay and then I do the needed flips and taps.

I USUALLY exit out of the happiness checker after I'm done with the taps but THIS time I didn't exit out and I hatched my egg and didn't get my Shiny/Nature/Ability after I KNOW I HIT MY DELAY.

So this leads me to believe by leaving the happiness checker open when I deposited my Parents it messed up the tap amount. Is this correct?

So I watched the video, and I'm not sure if I'm doing this wrong or not cause the newer RNG reporter has the Method 1 frame... I'm having a mind block atm but is this what I use as my initial frame? I can't remember and it is annoying me like crazy >.<

You don't use your captured poke to determine your frames, you use it to determine your seed, which you use on breeding DPPT in the main window, to find on which frame your pokemon got it's IVs.

Edit: On which frame the egg got it's IVs.

It similiar to when you were calibrating for your delays. Just keep note of when you reset catch a Pokemon at a high level and then plug in it's information. That's the initial seed you'll be using.

0.0 Thank you soooooooo much! That just cleared it all up for me! I had done that before but it has been a few weeks so I fogot >.<

I always forget that stuff, lol. I have to re-read my own guides sometimes if I don't do a type of RNG for a long time. No worries. Good luck on the next try.

Hm... Even with Emerald inserted, I didn't seem to encounter odd delays very often. I got them more, but not as often as I had expected. Ended up just changing the year by 1 to make the delay even and got it then.

Shame my ID/SID combo doesn't let me get any decent shinies. :/

I've successfully RNG'd for Shiny Eggs in my Platinum before, using Smogon's guide here. However, that was a while ago, and having just come back to it I've found that I can no longer get it to work at all.

Just to clarify, I'm only aiming for a shiny egg. Everything else is irrelevant at this point. I've followed everything the guide above says, and done nothing that it doesn't explicitly say to do. However, I can't hatch ANYTHING that RNG Reporter says I should be able to hatch, not even the non-shiny Frame 1 Pokemon that doesn't require any taps on either application. The Pokemon that hatches is always different to what RNG Reporter tells me should hatch, even though I've gone through the troubleshooting over and over again, checking and then double-checking each variable. As far as I can tell, everything I'm doing is right, but the result is always wrong, and its driving me insane.

Below is a copy of my Platinum save file. It's saved at the place I've been catching Lvl 50s, with 5 Pokemon in my Party, on the App before the Happiness Checker. There are no Pokemon in the daycare. The two Gligars in my party are the Pokemon I'm attempting to breed. I'd like to ask someone else to try and RNG a hatchling Pokemn using my save file, so I can determine whether something is going wrong with my save or if something is going wrong with my process. Go for a shiny if you want, or just see if you can hatch ANY of the Pokemon that RNG Reporter says you should be able to.

Any help would be appreciated.

You've verified for certain that your ID/SID combo is correct? Only applies to Shiny eggs.

You didn't land on any other apps going from party>>Friendship>>>Coin?
Your parents aren't international are they? That can mess it up too.

Where can I find a guide for Pokewalker RNG? This is the next area of RNG I want to master and any help would be appreciated.

If there isn't one could someone give me a description of how to do it? I have already learned to RNG:
-Stationary Legendaries
-Shiny eggs and IVs
-Wondercard Pokemon
-Events like Pewter city Latios/Latias

So explaining Pokewalker RNG doesn't have to be too in depth.

I would like to catch a surfchu from yellow forest. I already know how to hit seeds and stuff, and how to get the right IV's and nature. However I was wondering if somebody knows if there are specific seeds you can hit, so when you send a pokemon to the pokewalker surfchu shows up. Because I just caught a great hp-ice flychu >_>.

If you leave the Happiness Checker open when you enter a new room/area, it counts as an additional double tap; so, yes, it will mess things up.

Looking for a rng tutor in DPPt pm/vm me if you can and are available.
What you're planning to rng? I should be able to somewhat help.
[note: I am in college and I technically still have class, so my response wil be delayed

Not that I now of
The only thing I can say is that you will have to go to the route and capture a !!! pikachu, transfer it and see if it have surf(via receive gift, not transfer back).

if it dont have surf then transfer your pokemon back from the pokewalk and then transfer it back into the pokewalker and try again.

//I just try my pokewalker to the ceiling fan(get about 8000+ steps per hour), dont try unless you know what your doing

Go to the RNG Research page and read from pg 6-12 (PG 12 mainly)
Is there a guide here on how to RNG headbutt trees?
nope, sorry

Since Wondercard Pokemons' natures are set or random, it's possible to get a perfect IV spread on them without them being Calm/Docile/Modest/Timid while being legit, right?

Also, which Pokemarts in Sinnoh have no Wandering NPCs?

Right and I think in Sinnoh there are no pokemarts with no NPCs, but I could be wrong.

ight. i just updated my r4, and i think somehow the way it loads the games or something is jacking up my abusing. so i went back to the initial calibration phase... and im getting very low times of like 7 or 8 seconds... even though its taking longer from reset to pressing a on the blue screen than it used to.. any ideas?
