Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I have a question related to RNGing for Egg IVs:

I have triple checked my save frame, which is 2. I am trying to hit a frame of 24. So 24 - 2 = 22, 22 / 2 = 11. 11 flips to a page with a caught Pokemon. Yet when I do this, and check for adjacent spreads via coin flips, RNG reporter always says I am on frame 23. Whats going on?

You can check 10 times and cant be 100% sure of the frame. Since you went to frame 23 your on frame 1(it cant be any lower) So adjust to an odd frame.

I tried that too. I thought that I might be on frame 1, so I then tried to hit a spread with frame 17. 17 - 1 = 16, 16 / 2 = 8 flips. When I tried that, RNG reporter said I was on frame 16.

I would try again because going less than 1 is imposible. You could not be making 1 flip and an npc is moving to make it look like its less.

Would it be possible to RNG in B/W?

I've got the Jap rom but I'm not sure if this can be done at the moment

I don't know if this sounds a noob question, but I want my own timid Zekrom :(
Thanks nexus

it would be but it's way to early to manipulate it. Just keep checking the RNG research thread for info as it come, but don't expect to be able to start manipulating it for sometime.

As far as B/W RNG, it should atleast be possible to calibrate for your average delay correct (it's just setting the clock back then SR and catch)?

Use Rommstar's instructions in the fourth post of this help thread. Look carefully at the pictures. Everything you need to do is there.

You can confirm that your SID/OT makes your target spread shiny simply by using it in PokeRNG.

Thanks. Just wondering if you know what the average delay for D/P/Pt is. Rommstar's post shows an average for HG/SS, but I'm not using those games.

I've verified twice in a row that my save frame is one, but when I plug it into the time finder, there is no spread available. Do any of you know what could've gone wrong?

Delay: 625
Seconds: 15

I'm trying to RNG IV's for a Timid Flawless Shiny Smoochum on Pearl.

I got the game and I'm wandering that too, would the same seeds that work for DPPtHGSS in theory can work for B/W? I guess i'm rushing too much but i'd like to know that too, just curious :P

Nothing went wrong. Theres just no spread for your requirements. If you dont care about the year put in these requirements:615min delay 715max delay at the year 2010. Find a spread you want then add or reduce the year until you get your delay. You could also try emloop or pika timer for higher delays without weird years.
Putting high max fames help as well.

ok, I've chosen this spread

Seed: 591502A0
Delay: 625
Frame: 1
Target time: 21:30:15
Date: 11 / 04 / 2047
IV spread: 31 / A / 31 / A / 31 / A

So I:
1. Turn off my game
2. Set date to 11 / 04 / 2047 and time to 21:29:00
3. Reset at 21:30:00
4. Cancel the Journal and collect the egg as fast as possible w/out the NPC's moving.

Is this correct?

Yep. Make sure theres no caught pokemon in the front page of your journal so you dont mess up your frame.

MeGaMaN X: Eh, make sure you know what your frame is and what your target frame is as well, since if it differs, you'll have to journal flip. If your save frame is 1, then your target frame should also be odd.

What are you trying to capture: Enigma Stone event Latios

What is your target seed and frame?: 9F030201 is the seed I want and the frame is 473
What is the delay of that seed? 503

All I need to know right now is actually: do I really need to call Prof.Elm 472x? Cause that would be torturing

*Edit I'm using Heart Gold version for those who wanna know.

No, there are other methods. The favorite one is finding a different seed, XD. If 503 is your calibrated delay and you absolutely want to hit that, then there are other ways to advance the frame that high relatively quickly, but if you're using pikatimer like most, then picking a different spread with a higher delay and a lower frame is ideal.

Anyways, professor Elm, Youngster Joey (Not Monday and generally suggested that he doesn't want to battle is ideal), AND the radio are ways to advance your frame. Joey is still pretty slow so you'll have to use the radio. The top right channel advances the frame a good 14-18 times per click, so it's a good way to go for really high frames. You call Elm to verify what frame you're actually on. So imo you'll do the radio advancements about 25times. That puts you at MAX frame 450 I believe (it's probably lower). From there, just use elm and the main window of RNG reporter to find out what frame you're on and go from there.

Good luck :)
