5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Will NPCs advance the PID frame the same way on each time I hit my seed?
eg I hit my seed, get the egg, save then load up my AR. Quick hatch and check ivs/nature etc then bike around until another egg is made. Save in front of the man again. Hit my seed again and take exactly how long it took me to get the 1st egg to get my 2nd egg. Will I have hit the same PID frame or would the NPCs have moved in a different way thus changing my PID frame.

I'm pretty sure it should be the same.

It'll be the same every time as long as you start from the same save every time. If you save again, then the NPCs will start in different positions and advance it differently. So if you're using AR to do it like that, then they'll be different every time.

Nope.
You need to recalibrate the starting frame when there are NPCs from each save, since they'll be positioned differently.

Sometimes it ends up being the same, but most of the time it isn't.

Every time I've done it, it seems to advance the same amount when I load it no matter the position, course I've only ever done rng'ing twice with NPC's around.

Ok thanks for the feedback. I havn't really worried about it before since If i don't want something shiny I just randomly advance the PID frame and soon enough the poke will be good, but now I wanna shiny so I have to be pretty exact.

Quick question: How do you calibrate for a cart when you're going for Reshiram/Zekrom in N's Castle, and have access to only level 40 or lower pokemon? Is there any way besides grabbing a bunch of rare candies and leveling it to 50 or so? Cause inputting min/max IVs in the DS parameters tab with a difference of two (28, 29 , 30 for example) doesn't seem to work.

If you have a couple of rare candies, it should be easy to get accurate results (you don't have to save, after all). I didn't have any trouble doing it with an IV range, though. What exactly is the problem?

Or a single lucky egg audino kill for those of us without infinite items XD

The rare candy idea is simple enough, turn off the power after using the candies, therefore having not caught the pokemon and burnt up the candies. Also, a kill would add EVs, which may skew results.

Killing one Audino adds 2 HP EVs (fewer than would ever have an effect on stats, this isn't rocket science) and usually levels a LV1 pokemon up to 20+ if you do it just to the north of Undella town and give it a lucky egg.

So no, it won't skew results.

Personally, I've never had 19+ rare candies in my BW game.

I was wondering if Wild Eep or someone an answer this question. My question is if there is a way to search for a TID/SID combo in Pandoras box. I see it has a search for TID option but I'd like to find the matching SID so I can rename some of my pokes.

So I finally pulled off a pentaflawless (31/X/31/31/31/31) shiny synchronizable (hidden power dark 70, not that useful) rng project
problem is, the species isn't what I want (durant :'(
So, anyone know if would moving to another space in that same area changes anything?
is there a chance I can get a pentaflawless shiny deino here, or do I need to go to another floor?

Are you checking the encounter slot?

* When I sweet scent a pokemon, does it advance the RNG by 2, 3, or a number of frames like in gen 4 ?

* Where can I see my frames encounter slot in RNG reporter?

I am currently trying to catch and RNG a shiny quint-flawless Timid Litwick. I have found a spread which appears to work. The seed is: 8672A17AA81B68E7.
Despite having located the seed, I am unsure as to how to go about catching it, as in the number of steps/chatot listens.

My calculated starting PID is 49, and AFAIK all the floors of Celestial Tower have NPC's.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: for some reason Sweet Scent seems to be failing me a lot. Could anyone tell me why?

Your probably trying to Sweet Scent on the roof where it doesnt work. Just go tho the 2nd floor. Save, hit your seed and in order to advance the frame spam X when the season pops up and use chatter calls to advance your frame. The NPCs dont move very much at all and Ive never had trouble on the 2nd floor.

Still having trouble with this...does the 9.78 larvesta egg fix change this?

Code:
Having a lot of trouble with the Larvesta Egg...

found my 31/31/30/31/30/30 HP Rock 70 on 1/02/2011, 10:04:26, Frame 2 (Larvesta Egg starts on frame 2 right?). Timer0 is C85, which worked fine for me RNGing Terrakion no problem.

I save in front of the red guy, start up at 10:04:25 for the one second offset, grab the egg and hatch it. Two were adamant, one Lonely, corresponding with what the blue-hair NPC is doing when I start the game (stepping down or to the left).

However, I can't seem to figure out where the IVs are coming from. Instead of my IV frame, I get something like 31/10-13/28-29/0-9/28-29/25-29.

I've searched all timer0 values near C85, but I can't find that spread showing up on 1/02/2011 at 10:04:26 for any values of any parameters (no keypresses for all of this btw).

Where could these IVs be coming from?

I just downloaded the new version of RNG Reporter, and was delighted to see that there is now a column for species of nidoran. I immediately went to try to get a shiny nidoran-M, but when I hatched the egg, it was a nidoran-f, despite the column specifying a male. my seed is deaab78b8aab3135, which, for my TID and SID (15179 and 36015, respectively), gives a shiny DW timid nidoran-m on frame 73. Is the best solution just to find another seed and try that one?
Edit: the nidoran-f was shiny, the ivs were correct, everything was right except the gender.

Search for a spread that says Nidoran-F instead. Kaphotics is a goof for assuming the same spread produces Volbeat\Nidoran-M, and I am a goof for believing him. :P

I am starting to aim for a shiny dwebble on route 18 since the resort area has sand and I was wondering what is the best way to handle moving npc?

If I walk my 128 to hit frame 5 and get the initial pidframe will it always be the same for every time I attempt it or are the npc completely random so the PIDFrame is going to fluctuate?
