Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yeah it worked if I put sync nature as modest, but what I want is a flawless seed such that if I use a different nature syncrhonizer, such as timid, the result will be timid as well. This seed only lets me get flawless shiny modest natured. In gen 5, I was able to abuse my ID/SID such that I can RNG flawless shinies for whatever nature I wanted (because that seed what syncable for all natures) Is this not possible on gen 4?

Thanks!

Ohhh! I see what you mean. Yeah, it's not possible in G4. Natures and IVs are tied in Gen. 4 RNG, so you can't have any nature with any IVs like in G5.

No it's not possible. Also the only natures that can have a totally flawless IV spread are Modest, Timid, Calm, and one of the neutral ones because the PID (gender/nature/ability/shinyness) is tied to IVs.

The neutral flawless one is Docile! Just saying :P

Glad we could help.

Another quick question - When I use RNG reporter 9.81 to find a shiny seed (I entered a bogus ID & SID) and copy that seed into seed to time, it gives me a delay that's 2000 more than what I put in the shiny egg finder...I find this really weird and I've never had this problem before. The year is consistent in both cases (2011).

9.81's 4th gen Shiny Egg finder is broken.
You need an earlier version.

DPPt:

Does it matter if I take a while to catch the Pokemon when getting my SID and Seed to determine what frame I am on. I ask this because I will be using a Roselia with Sweet Scent to encounter a Pokemon more quickly, and it might take longer to catch Pokemon.

Also, in Platinum, is there any sort of area where I should be catching? Left, middle, right?

Take a while? What do you mean?
Like, while in battle throwing the ball?

I don't understand your second question either...
What area are you referring to?

Thanks for your answer to the previous question. I am trying to TID/SID abuse and I read that the delay is usually around 5000-6000. But what about the seconds? My usual calibrated seconds is 14 but I'm assuming I can't use that anymore because this time it would take longer?

I think you can use what ever seconds you want. Once you find your seed using Pandora's Box, copy it, open a new RNG Reporter and put it in Seed To Time and find a time. A time with 14 seconds might show up :)

Edit: I overlooked that you were talking about calibrated second. You always leave calibrated second the same on your timer. All you need to change is wanted second. Also, for HGSS TID/SID abuse, I noticed that when you first attempt to hit your seed, you might be 2 or 3 seconds late. So on your timer, you'd have to adjust it by subtracting 2 or 3 from your wanted second and you should hit your target second next time.

6,000 is a good delay for ID/SID abusing on both DPPt and HGSS.
When abusing for anything in DPPt and HGSS I always leave my calibrated second and wanted second at 15 on the timers.
Just leave the calibrated second alone, and add the wanted second into the timer. Everything should work out fine.

Are you using pikatimer? So I set my ds clock at the same time I press start on the pikatimer. When the first timer runs out, I start the new game. But since there is no "load screen" in this case because I am just starting a new game I don't know what to do about the second timer..

When the first timer runs out is when you soft reset not when you start the new game.

Soft reset at the end of the first timer. Get to part before you shrink and enter your room. In DPPt that's where you see the crap-ton of writing on the TV screen, in HGSS it's where the professor says "I'll see you later." Just get to that point and wait there for the second timer to finish and when the second timer ends you press A immediately to get to your room.

This is because it doesn't generate right when you click A at the last sentence. I though you knew this already. (Well, you sound like you don't know. I dunno.)

But yeah, calibrate. As the ID/SID is set when the pitch-black screenofdeath appears.

I can't speak on when a new update will come(have no idea if there will be) but I know that they know about the problem with the shiny egg tab. For right now just use an older version(I like 8.31 personally).

kk Thank you very much!!!! Do you happen to know where I can download the older version?

Oh, sorry, I must've worded it to make it sound like it was new to me. I do know that, I was just trying to explain to ff7Cloud that it will happen when he/she attempts TID/SID abuse. I should probably start reading over my messages before I post them. :P

Alright, I beat HGSS. I know DPPt RNG to heart, now. However, what is the difference between HGSS and DPPt?

Is it just easier to determine what frame you are on? I Just want to know what makes it easier.

Also, the HGSS guide is in the beginning of this thread and the only one Smogon has made? I'm not insulting you guys, I just want to make sure.

One more thing, when getting the PID egg do I increase the ID no. by 1 every time I make a new RNG.

Also, @ Winters Zombie, I got my answer to those questions--closing my questions for DPPt RNGing.

Oh my god, I forgot to find my SID *HG AND PLATINUM*. I don't even know how to do that. The ID Finder link is down. I also noticed my trainer card ID No. matches the original ID that is put in the RNG reporter, is that a coincidence or me just practicing RNG without my SID plugged in? <----Haha, nevermind I got the SID through AR and I must of entered the Trainer ID along time ago since the box starts blank, I presume.

Not important enough to post anywhere else but I made a small prog that may eventually help with XD.
REDACTED
Give it a seed and it gives you the IVs that will result (I followed what the research thread said about method X.) More a learning exercise for me but decided to share it.
Edit: Damn, right after I post this I find it only gets the first three IV's correct.
EDIT: BUGFIX! http://www.mediafire.com/?1xunjt760otk0x8

I'm trying to RNG bills eevee. I'm using pikatimer to try to hit a 638 delay. However, the phone verifications I get are all consistently random, even though I do the exact same thing each time on pikatimer. For example, one time I would get 245 delay then the second time 868 delay. This is very odd...can someone help me out? Thanks!

In DPPt is it better to use a bike when saving next to the daycare man (after you get your PID egg) so you can ride faster to the grass to catch a Pokemon or does it matter?

What makes HGSS RNGing easier than DPPt?

HGSS RNG and DPPt abuse is almost the exact same thing, but I prefer HGSS because you can keep track of your frame easily. Also, since you're going to be breeding, in HGSS there is only 1 NPC that will effect your breeding results. In DPPt there's a bunch of them, making it much harder to get your target frame since they advance the frame.

I am thinking, from watching bearsfans videos, that if you stand on the top position of the daycare man and just run to the grass and Sweet Scent it--it may be faster than a bike because a bike needs some acceleration and you need to press a button to get off it so you can enter the tall grass.

Agree or Disagree?

The point of hatching the egg is to see what frame you collected the egg on. Once you're consistent, you can find the lowest frame possible to collect the egg, and advance from there.

Catching a pokemon after collecting the egg will only tell you what frame the wild pokemon was generated on, so that's useless.
