League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

I miss back when Riot designed heroes such that every spell that could possibly have an AP Ratio had one.

It means that never again will there be a new hero where I can do something like this:

How are you playing him? I am pretty sure that you mean lane, so I have to say that probably the most important thing to do with him is last hit religiously with your Q. The amount of bonus gold is one of the primary reasons that you always, without fail, max it first on laneplank. You need farm more than any other champ in your lane, take it. You need that Triforce, and after that, you really have almost enough damage right there. For your start, what do you run? I use the probably shitty brawler's-pots into avarice then sheen then triforce build, which works really well. Crits in lane can do crazy damage. I have killed champs so many times because my Q crits and does way more than they expected.

I've been starting Wriggles and Mercs/Tabi because every game I've used him my teammates pick 4 squishies so I build a little tankier since I know none of them are going to prevent me from getting burst to hell. If I still feel I need more tankiness I go Atmogs but I'll go Triforce if I feel like the extra damage will help more.

I like Gangplank so far but I haven't been doing so hot. I'm 3-2 but I haven't really had an impact on any of the games other than some well placed ARRRRs (geddit.) I also tend to feed a bit. I blame this on over-aggressive lanemates though. Does no one know how to last hit? Laned with an Ashe who went like 0-18 and AA'd the minions the entire time preventing me from getting ANY CS. I've also had some nasty lane opponents. Fucking Poppy and Tristiana a lot and I hate them. I'm 10+ games over .500. Shouldn't I have a decent normal ranking?
I mean if you're laning with someone then you're either solo laning or playing support Gangplank. If it's the former, you don't have the problem of teammates stealing CS and you just farm, poke, and assist with your ulti. If you're playing support GP, then you poke, CV constantly, and don't take any CS while rushing that early Philo/Avarice/HoG.

Or you could play Jungle gangplank and have fast clears alongside powerful ganking and ult assistance. You've gotta learn your niche and it seems like the problem right now is that you don't know what your role is on the team, meaning that you obviously won't contribute as much as you can late-game.

I don't think my teammates/opponents are as good as you think they are. If I don't take any CS no one will be. I seem to be playing with people who don't know how to last hit.

EDIT: Just once I want to have a team that doesn't consist of me+4 people who want to play Jax/Trynd.

Ok good, now that I don't have 1999 posts, someone said something about using Q as often as possible to farm? No, don't do that. Conserve your mana. Yeah, sometimes its ok to use it if you need the range to last hit. But don't spam it.

Old Gangplank sucked because he had too many reasons to spam abilities in lane. Getting rid of his denial and reducing the gold gain for Parley got rid of his mana problems, don't bring them back by spamming.

I listened to Jebus and tried a more support oriented Gangplank to pretty good results. I laned with an AD TF and let him get most of the CS. I built Stark's and Aegis to good results. Went 6-4-12 in a win. I could really feel how much I was helping my team.

Unless you think that you are going to need all your mana to get a kill early on, Gangplank has no reason not to farm with Q. Getting like 8 extra gold per Q last hit is great, and while you certainly should not use it every time it is up, having 4/3 as much cs essentially is very useful on a champ whose primary damage output comes from the most expensive items in the game, following which he must complete a combo of Warmog's and Atma's. He needs that money to crush late game, which he can do amazingly well. The joy of two-shotting carries does not come without some mana sacrifice early game

He gains 8 gold at level 9. He gains 4 gold at level 1, where he can Parley 6 times (24 extra gold). This becomes 35 extra gold at level 3, and 48 extra gold at level 5. This is by spamming and running out of mana so that you can't sustain with W or help gank with E (not to mention use his ultimate). And when he gets 8 gold per kill, that's 72 extra gold in 45 seconds. Not bad until you realize you've just run out of mana.

Sustain with W? The cooldown is extremely long at Level 1 and you should be leveling it last. It needs to stay off cooldown so you can use it to remove CC during a gank attempt. After making sure you always have enough for W/E/R, any extra mana can go into Q either to last hit or harass the enemy laner depending on who's bullying who.

Do note that supports typically do start building that GP10 early on so they're not completely gold starved, but Aegis and Stark's are very good items to build on a support GP.

Regarding the Q farm issue in lane, I'd say save it unless you have to use it to avoid missing CS. The old GP could literally get upwards of 15 gold per Q CS so it was worth it to spam Q as much as possible so you'd be an absolute monster at 20 minutes, but with new GP, you don't need to secure each and every last CS with your Q. Autoattack often, stay at a decent amount of mana, and only use your skills when you have to, unless you want to get some poke off.

I have another question: is there ever a good time to get Tiamat? I assume it'd be like a mid-game item, if anything, and the splash from AAs seems nice, but I can't really think of a situation where it gains priority over some other item. But I know that some champions can have trouble farming, or need a lot of farm to be successful, so idk.

Tiamat synergizes with Tristana's E and Malphite's W, but whether it synergizes well is a different story. I think it's the only item I've never purchased.

If playing against a heavy poke team stack Tiamats (like 5) on Ezreal and ur Q will splash for 400. 400 splash every 2 secs not counting AA.

Not to be trolly for the sake of being trolly, but it's been a while since Riot has released a female character with good art. Shyvana just looks really awkward, and not particularly dragon-like

Hi guys Im more likely better at this game than anyone who posted here...If you wanna play and your not a scrub message me...
jonnyrolo is a pretty cool guy, is more better at league of legends than anyone else and doesn't afraid of anything

i mean like assuming that you're the same "jonnyrolo" in the client, then you're level 29 and obviously main a katarina build used to stomp low-ELO enemy teams since you seem to be rushing soulstealer in every single one of your games

you also seem to be running armor pen and mana regen runes as well as a 22/7/0 setup on your main champion which seems to be katarina
