OddOne posted a video the other day saying that he thought Ryze was the best AP in the game.

IMO:
Top picks: Cassiopeia, Kennen, Ahri, Karthus, Morgana, Zilean, Sion, Swain, Fizz, Kassadin, Vladimir.
Not to say that the rest aren't good - Gragas, Anivia, Brand, etc are still all powerful - just IMO the ones up top are the easiest to carry with and the strongest right now. Not necessarily arranged in viability order - Kassadin's extremely strong in solo queue, for example.
Also Ryze is really good but he's not an "AP" carry per se.

Fizz sucks mid IMO. I already forgot about his kit. But doesn't he have like 0 ranged abilities? (Not including his ult) And Zilean is amazing. Nukes for 1000 damage when fully build? Yup. Revives a teammate/himself in teamfights? Yup. Has a speed buff/debuff to pick off straglers after they win the fight because their AD Carry had the full teams burst unleashed on him only to come back alive? Yup.

fizz is an ok laner but he drops off no matter which way you build him (bruiser/ap) because his ratios got hit a little bit and his shark got fixed to not be automatic
that being said, hes still "fun" to play (i dont play him tho) and not "wow dont play that guy" tier . but he is a melee AP with a gimmick

cant carry from jungle anymore i dont care what anyone says if your laners are bad even if you feed them they dont know what to do with the advantage and if you get the kills you have to snowball hard

not the best opponents and my cs was awful. BUT I FARM CHAMPIONS NOT MINIONS
ziggs is annoying lane opponent at best, as long as he doesnt get snowballed he doesnt really do anything. he zoned me from cs but i just farmed what i could and when i hit 6 and got some more AP i just instagibbed any person who came close to me.
won the last fight by warding wraiths bush and sieging it with w and 3 ults which instagibbed the brand in the bush and got everyone else to half health while monkey chased me and i kite him with flash e and q long enough that my team finishes rest of team and murder him when he runs

Awwwwwwwww. Playing solo top is going to suck this week..
This game was OP. They had 2 of our inhibs down, and baron, and they still couldn't end it. I started off badly, but I got my full build, proceeded to shit on people. Was like 6/10 or something at one point. Other team wasn't very organized, we were more organized at the end. Games like this is what makes this game so much fun. Their Yi was terrible. Buildin that thornmail with no HP, i still like 3 shot him. And yes, I know I'm not the greatest or level 30, but hey, I'm having fun, and my record is pretty solid at 39-25.
Idk what it's about Miss Fortune, but I love playing her, even if she isn't the strongest AD carry in the game. I think it's because she's fast or something. I don't know, but I like her.
So happy that Maoki is free. The past few times I would always say that I would try out his jungling but never ended up doing it. Played 2 games as jungle Mao today and I've definitely got to buy him.
Both top and bot were getting dominated during the laning phase, but after a few ganks Wukong was able to win his lane and finished with a nice score. Amumu was a pain, destroying approximately 1000 gold worth of wards. Teemo was just bad, constantly choosing to farm (which he did a crappy job of) rather than help us when we were 2 seconds from him and Blitz landed only one pull the entire game, but it won us the game. Pulled Karth through the wall right after they Baroned which led to an ace and taking 2 inhibitors.
