5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

No >.<

My initial is 44, the modest frame was 51, I just thought it odd how I hit it twice while including a chatter on the second egg

oh but what is the 7, you posted before? i think npc/s moved on your first try. unless of course, you're not using everstone this time right?

edit: nvm, so you were verifying your if you hit your seed.

The 7 was the fact that the frame I was on was 7 higher than the initial frame; sorry, I did word it kind of badly :/
It's odd because usually I get either 2 or 3, not 7. Can the teacher advance the RNG 7 times that fast? (I was opening the menu and collecting the egg really damned quick)

No, I'm not using an everstone this time around.

i think so. it depends on your initial, even if it is as low as 43, since it is suggested that you check your frame at the 50-60s range, it can be 51 which is 7 frames higher. you're not using ditto right?

No, I'm using a Cradily and Lileep, because I'm aiming for its hidden ability too.

when you searched for the seed you checked the hidden ability right? i can't think of any other reasons, maybe you just keep hitting your seed and verify which is the most common after 1 chatter, then advance accordingly.

Yeah, I checked hidden ability, and the frame I want does say "true" under the appropriate column.

I've had a string of C7E eggs just now, which has hampered progress, but it seems I'm back to C7F again, so it should all be good :)

Hi, I'm trying to get a shiny Adamant Terrakion, and all I would like to know is how to reach the very high frame of 34899. On the RNG guide I was reading, the only way I was told to advance the frame was by looking at Chatot summaries, which only advances the frame by 1...is that really what I would have to do over and over to reach that frame??

Such a high frame! ._. Yea, you can use that method, is going to take forever though ._. The only other reliable method to reliable advance the pidrng that I know of is saving, but that will just take longer.

You're going to mis-count and mess up...

Try searching for seeds over a longer period of time and with all three keypresses. My shiny Landorus was only at frame ~100, which meant around 50 advances. 34899 is insane.

yes. You need to make sure the right NPC for the pokemon is in the forest though, let's not mention their advances :/

Also White Forest's encounter slots are obviously variable, so unless there's some bit of research on how to determine them that I missed, you'll have to figure that out by trial and error.

Replying to something from a few pages back...

Having said that, if I stop two away from my target (Lo(15)Hardy) I end up with the spread just before (Lo (03) Hasty) the shiny one I am aiming for.

With PPRNG, I've found that with eggs, you should advance to two frames before your intended frame for eggs. Maybe chiizu should give insight into this.

If -NLMRY- is hearing Lo(15) (frame 90) and then getting frame 91, I'd say PPRNG is correctly generating its output. If his comment is not based on the Chatot sound but rather just on frame counting, then it's hard to say.

Jedi, Idk if it's just PPRNG. Whenever I do egg abuse, I always stop two frames before and I get my shiny egg. I think it's just that the NPCs on the route like advancing by two frames :o

PPRNG and RNG Reporter generate egg frames slightly differently, as you can see from the following two screenshots (seed 0).

The Chatot pitches match, but the egg details are different by one frame. Since the NPCs can mess up the frame, there's no simple test to verify which is correct, or whether either of them are correct. The only way would be for someone to look at the actual game code that generates the egg.

Will a given seed in which an Everstone passes down, say, an Adamant nature, also work for surely passing down, say, a Modest nature with an Everstone?

Yes, everything stays the same except for the nature on Everstone frames. It's only different if you don't use an Everstone at all.

In this post will be the noobiest question that has ever been asked on this forum but I'll try and follow the rules so I can get some advice on this issue.

I'm trying my hand at RNGing in 5th Gen (I can 4th Gen RNG so I know how to hit seeds and advance frames, etc.) and today, when I was following this guide:

http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/bw_rng_part1#prereq

as well as this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYSHAga0Q3Q&list=UURH4df8a2_PSIQz3TKzAVIg&index=2&feature=plcp

to calibrate, DS Parameters is not giving me any initial seed results. I'm using RNG Reporter 9.95, I've inputted my MAC Address, I'm using a DSI XL console and an English Pokemon Black cartridge, and I followed the youtube vid's guide exactly to hitting a seconds value of 30 seconds as was recommended on the vid.

Before following the video's instructions, I tried resetting at a new minute as per my computer's clock as well as using Eon Timer.

I've been trying to calibrate for over half an hour, so my question is: what am I doing wrong that hasn't been included in the written guide and the video? Has it got something to do with the type of console I'm using?

Extra information:
My DSI XL won't allow me to view the DS MAC address through the Game's starting menu so I had to find it through Internet settings in the console settings menu. In addition, I turned off my C Gear everytime I tried to calibrate.

if you're using an hour over noon, make sure to mark it in military style e.i 2:00 PM = 14:00

also, you never turn on the C-gear. You need to decline before even entering the game

Double check that the DS Type/Mac/etc. is correct.

Save inside the top level of Victory Road, like the video, where there are no NPCs with a Pokemon that knows sweet scent in your party.

Start the game at whatever time you want just write down/record the time you start the game. After you press A to start the game DO NOT TOUCH A BUTTON UNTIL AFTER THE GAME FULLY LOADS. Use sweet secent. Catch the Pokemon and use rare candies + http://metalkid.info/Pokemon/Calculators/IV.aspx to try to get the exact IVs.
If you're still having issues please post a screen shot of what you are doing as well as any other relevant information.

i have a quick question regarding entralink calibration and eon timer v1.6.

for example:
if my target is [seconds=39] [delay=8239], but i hit [seconds=41] [delay=8369]
do i then enter [second hit=41] AND [delay hit=8369] into the relevant boxes, or just [second hit=41] until i am hitting [seconds=39], and then start entering the [delay] i hit only when i'm hitting the appropriate [second]?

In 1.6, you should be able to do both at the same time.

So I'm extremely new to RNG Manipulation, but I've been an admirer for a while. I recently tried to find my DS Parameters with the RNG Reporter v.9.95 Beta. Initially I got two possible seeds that I hit, but when I repeated the process I got one of the seeds again. Does this mean beyond a shadow of a doubt that these are my Parameters?

I then took these Parameters and put them into the Time Finder. I searched for a seed for a near flawless stationary Pokemon, but when I tried to actually RNG for it, I failed. What I'm wondering is:
1. Is there any other step in the RNG Reporter after Time Finder if I'm only aiming to RNG for IVs?

And

2. Does hitting your seed not always work right off the bat? If so, then how many tries will it take to hit it?

Were the parameters for the three times identical except for the Timer0 value? If so, those are almost certainly correct (Timer0 can fluctuate between two values, you might want to do it a few more times to see which one you usually hit).

Was your target on frame 1? If not, you should search for frame 1 instead, makes life a lot easier. If so, all you have to do is start the game at the right time, and if you don't get what you want then you probably hit the other Timer0 value. How easily you can hit your seed depends on how consistent you are.

I'm trying to catch a perfect Darumaka in the Desert Resort entrance, and I can't seem to get the PIDRNG frame to work. Based on the seed I'm using, RNG Reporter predicts the initial frame to be 45. However, when I successfully hit the standard seed, the initial frame was 53. I was aiming for frame 56, but when I tried again, hit the standard seed, and used Chatot 3 times to advance the frame, I got frame 76. Are there some moving NPCs that I'm not aware of? Or is there something else wrong?
