Sand Veil isn't banned you might be confusing this for one of the main reasons Garchomp was banned. Sand Veil abuse was deemed broken with brightpowder and substitute

On PO Brazilian server, my opponent forfeited after seeing that my Gliscor was the Acrobatics + Sand Veil variant. He argued that Sand Veil was a banned ability on OU, then I got to chat to know if that was true but instead people mocked me because of my nickname and sexual orientation, but that's beside the point - because of this I got confused and I am questioning here because I remember that in PO Smogon server, there was a warning that Sand Veil was banned, maybe I am confusing this with the warning that Sand Stream was banned from UU?

They argued that it was banned under evasion clause, but as far as I know Evasion Clause doesn't ban abilities that raise evasion during certain weather condition like Sand Veil and Snow Cloak. There was also a rumor that Sand Veil was going to be banned so that Garchomp could be permitted in OU with Rough Skin.

I'm 100% certain that Sand Veil is legal. I used it on a now-retired Sand team. Evasion Clause doesn't apply to abilities.

Yeah, you can look it up on many of the sites resources. such as here: http://www.smogon.com/bw/abilities/sand_veil
and here: http://www.smogon.com/tournaments/tour/rules#clauses
sand veil isn't banned nor do i feel it will ever be, any rumors that have been started saying that chomp will be unbanned because they'll ban sand veil is just crap speculation. It's about as hard to do as having a separate tiers for say non technician scizor and our standard ou scizor

And for future reference if a move set is illegal the server won't let you battle with it, so the fact you were able to start a match with sand veil is solid evidence it's not banned

Well, the guy that battled me insisted to say that my Gliscor was illegal. Here is the set that I am using:

472.gif

Gliscor (M) @ Flying Gem Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Acrobatics
- Substitute

I am pretty sure that this set is OK and there is nothing wrong with it.

Perhaps it's just my opponent that was about to lose and did not want to go through this "humiliation". It also didn't want to answer my question and instead attacked my sexuality.

I'm feeling quite relieved. I don't want to use a thing that is illegal, also I wold need to do some serious changes to my team to make up the loss of my only pokémon that had super-effective attacks against Poison, Electric and Fighting-types.

As far as evasion goes:
Banned: Double Team, Minimize, Moody, Brightpowder, Lax Incense
Legal: Sand Attack, (and clones,) Snow Cloak, Tangled Feet, Sand Veil, Acupressure, Starf Berry

Also maybe don't talk about your sexuality so freely? It's really none of our business who / what you're attracted to.

Back to the Espeon issue:

If I go with HP Fire I am walled by Heatran and Tyranitar.
If I go with HP Fighting I cover those two, but I can't hit a lot of steels for SE damage such as Skarmory, Scizor and Forretress.
And if I go with HP Ice I get walled by lots of things. Yet if I don't use HP Ice I can't touch Dragons.
Plus all the Rain teams mean HP Fire is often useless.

Maybe Grass Knot / Psyshock / HP Fire is the go, which lets me hit Tyranitar and the steels, but leaves me vulnerable to Psychics, Ghosts, Dragons and Heatran.

The only Dragon-types you can't hit with Psychic are Hydregion (lol) and the Lati@s twins. Forretress / Skarmory should take quite a bit from +1 Psychic (assuming you're going Calm Mind). While it might not be a OHKO it should be a close 2HKO with SR and Spikes down.

If you're going for best coverage I'd say that HP Fire is your best bet, and if you really want to hit the Lati@s twins throw Shadow Ball in there. Only Tyranitar can beat you then, but Tyranitar isn't really that useful this Gen aside from getting sand up, laying down SR, and trapping Psychics. You could easily predict the Tyranitar switch in or, instead of running Calm Mind, run Baton Pass to see how your opponent reacts to Espeon.

How do I delete my inactive social group because I already have 5 groups and I want to make another one.

You can only delete a social group if you are the only member of the group. When looking at the main page of your social group, there is a "Delete Group" option at the bottom

I'm sorry for bothering any one, but I have yet another question. This is really weird, but... I don't know what laddering is. Can you give a long answer, please? Thank you, answerer.

The ladder is basically a rankings board. When people are "laddering", they're basically just facing other players, trying to get a better rank. Your rank is determined by how many points you have. Each trainer has a certain number of points. I'm not sure how many you start with in PS!, but in PO you start with 1,000. When you battle someone, you essentially wager points against them. If you win, they lose points and you get them, and vice versa if you lose.

How many points are wagered per player depends on where each person is on the ladder. In an evenly matched game, both players wager 16 points. Depending on how good your opponent is though, you could have a match where you gain 24 from winning and lose only 8 if you're defeated. In that case, your opponent would gain 8 if they beat you, but lose a whopping 24 for a loss. For a score to be that lopsided, your opponent would probably be much higher on the ladder than you. In any case, there's always 32 total points wagered (+23 -9; +19 -13; etc.) after your first few matches played.

So basically, laddering is a way to determine how you measure up to the rest of the community. All you need to do is play ranked matches, and the rest will take care of itself!

At least, that's how it worked in PO. I believe it's similar in PS!, but I don't know the exact formula used.

Pokemon Showdown's system is very weird. People have been known to earn points for losing and lose points for winning. It still needs a lot of work. It is still in the beta stages, so that should be fixed sometime hopefully.

Signal Beam hits Lati@s, Hydreigon, and Tyranitar super effective (and nothing short of Shedinja is immune to Bug/Psychic)

That might work actually. I'll try Psyshock / HP Fire / Signal Beam.

For the 4th moveslot I was actually going to use Heal Bell (not Calm Mind), because my team could really use a Cleric.

n00b Query...

Hey all,

I noticed that while a pokemon is in the OU tier, some of the builds are listed under an Uber tab. Does building them to mimic the Uber tab push the pokemon itself into the U tier?

Thanks in advance.

Based on this Damage Calculation, can Meloetta OHKO Tornadus-T with Stealth Rock up?

Edit:

200Atk Life Orb Meloetta (Neutral) Ice Punch in Rain vs 4HP/0Def Tornadus Therian (Neutral): 81% - 96% (244 - 288 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

Stealth Rock does 25% damage to Tornadus-T so that moves it to 106-121%

No. An OU Pokémon is always OU no matter what you run on it. What that means is that it's also viable in Ubers, and those sets are suggestions for what would be most effective in Ubers.

In double battles, if Sucker Punch targets a Pokemon that selected an attacking move, but is redirected by the move Follow Me or Rage Powder, would it fail since it's now targeting a Pokemon that used either of those non-attack moves?
