People just look at its stats and say," Just another UU", but this thing can be s really powerful Rain sweeper with Swift Swim and an excellent Physical movepool, and he also gets Swords Dance.

nope it just looked cool, it will only get usage if people feel like using there favourites, since this is competitive battling, near to none of the actual cool looking ones will ever get used.

This guy frustrates me as he has -nothing- going for him. Shame because polar bears are cool. :(

This guy isn't a watered down URsaring. Him and Ursa are completely different pokemon.
It just so happens that Ursaring completely outclasses this guy in the offfensive department, with better offensive abilities such as Guts and Quick Feet (Tension?). Ursaring also has higher attack and speed, isn't SR weak, and only has to look out for mach punch as priority.
Plus, Ursaring gets Earthquake. Makes no dang sense that Tsunbear doesn't get it as real life polar bears are far heavier than other bears. Then again, lol real life and pokemon.

actually i want both of them on my team(nicknamed Bearzerk and Tsundere) im just dissapointed that he wasn't ice/fighting
Tsunbeaa really wanted Encourage to abuse Icicle Drop with. Despite his horribad defensive typing, Tsunbeaa's state spread for defense isn't too shabby, and he can work decently in trick room/hail/rain. Unfortunately that does make him quite niche in use.
The current metagame doesn't look very kind, even with the many dragon types running around and the 4x ice weak Landlos and Gliscor, Tsunbeaa doesn't get a chance to shine without weather (ironically enough) or Trick Room. The lack of Ice Shard for priority hurts too, though quite frankly, Mamoswine and Weavile both make better use of it anyway.

Tsunbeaa didn't want Encourage (yay Swift Swim), he needed to be Ice/Fighting.
Like to point out that this set is outclassed by Kabutops, who also learns Flail with Swift Swim, and has higher base Speed and Attack stats to play with. Hell, Kabutops also gets double-STABed Aqua Jet in case he meets another priority user; as an added bonus, Kabutops won't instantly die should Tyranitar or Hippowdon bring a sandstorm to ruin the fun. Then again Kabutops has better things to do in the rain than try and sweep with an un-STABed Normal-type move. The only thing Tsun has over Kabutops is STAB Icicle Drop to hit dragons not named Kingdra, instead of having to rely on Stone Edge (which misses the SE hit on non-flying dragons anyway).
I like the thought process of it though :D It might work very well in tandem with the other Swift Swimmers, but I think it's still pretty meh
wow this guy is not half bad with swift swim he could be a perfect scarfed revenge killer in the rain

On topic: Sigh, poor Tsunbear :( I really like the design, and wtf polar bears can run at 25 mph. That's how fast cars go in residential areas. Dumb GameFreak. He doesn't get outclassed per se, due to his insignificant niche roles, but compared to other rain sweepers, Tsunbear is rather underwhelming. Its horrendous typing leaves it wide open for just about every hazard and priority move in the game, and while it's not frail by any means, 95/80/80 defenses aren't made to take repeated hits.
While Encore's a nice toy to work with, like Lee said, Tsunbear is in no position to Encore anything, really, outside of entry hazards. The thing with this thing vs Cacturne in the sand is that Cacturne has a powerful STAB priority that with good prediction, buys you more set up time and only has to rely on its haxy nature during the initial set up, mispredictions, or extremely bulky foes.
Here's to hoping for an Ice Shard tutor in the third game to make Tsunbear and Kyurem a bit more usable =/
This has probably already been posted, but with Avalanche as the STAB attack, this set should probably run a Brave nature with 0 Speed IVs.
Prpl, avalanche has a negative priority, so a lower speed really only helps against, like, other avalanche users. Which you should be superpowering.
And this guy is terrible. Almost any swift swimmer can learn ice beam, so it's not like ice is in high demand there. Stab ice is a little trickier, but still not all that necessary. He also can't really do much outside of that that any other rain sweeper can do. Superpower is self-destructive, brick break weak, stone edge is kabutops' job. And he's still slow, even WITH swift swim. Swords dance ice punch ludicolo does better, as well as having the grass type to absorb leech seeds and the like.
As for the mamoswine thing, either choice item is beaten by mamoswine, with more ability to switch in, thanks to neutrality to sr and thick fat, his boosting sets are pointless since half the metagame outspeeds and ohkos him before he attacks, not to mention him being walled by skarmory and burunkeru.
Oh, and most non-water types on a rain dance team are for walling certain attacks(Heatran for grass types, for example. This guy can't even do THAT.

Submersion (the move)... turns the Steel and fire weaks into Fire and Steel resists. But does make it weak to Grass and Electric. However, getting Submersion'd boosts its Surf, Dive, and Brine (Hidden Power Water?) by adding Water STAB at the loss of Ice STAB. Then there is the "Water + Normal" idea.

Terrible is too harsh. Definitely not OU material, but in all probability will be great in UU.
I feel like a mixed set would be worth looking into, as it has a decent sp. Atk.

Maybe. He does have a respectable attack, and could cause some trouble under rain. Let's not forget he gets Superpower, which now has elusive distribution due to it no longer being a tutor move. The let down is lack of Earthquake, his speed (if you can call it that), and lack of a good water move (Seriously, you'd think he'd get waterfall to abuse with swift swim). Also, people have mentioned Mamoswine, who sports better typing, better movepool, better stats, better abilities, and because of his typing, a neutrality to Stealth rock. Tsunbeaa might be outclassed here, as all he can offer is Swift swim. He is a physical ice type, which is hard to come by.
I use a banded version on my Rain team.
He hits hard, ill give it that, but anything that he cant OHKO or outspeed will probably smack him back for a ton of his HP....not to mention that the SR weakness is devastateing to him.

Why suck? Just because a Pokemon isn't bog standard doesn't mean it "sucks", I can even see usability in Uber with Kyogre!
