Darmanitan

Daruma Mode's underrated. People call it an inferior Heatran, but Heatran doesn't resist Mach Punch.
Hihidaruma (F) @ Custap Berry
Trait: Daruma Mode
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Flamethrower
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
I normally score a KO, sometimes 2-4. My average would be higher if PO actually added it's Psychic-type onto it.

Good target for an Inconsistant Smeargle to Baton Pass to. Unless the idea of that brings the Encourage versus Daruma Mode into debate. Daruma Balloon Mode!

WaspinaDaruma (Waspinator Rules!)
Daruma Mode @ Balloon
Flamethrower
Psychic/Focus Blast
U-Turn/Substitute
Hidden Power Ghost

If you can base your team around Inconsistant Smeargle or Acupressure Baton Passing, Substitute to Daruma Mode hit point range or U-Turn if Stealth Rock threatens.

On the other hand, isn't it also possible for your average to be lower if the Psychic type was actually there?

GUYS!!! IT DOEST NEED TO BE 50% HP DARUMA MODE! You can get a full hp Daruma mode somewhere in the game, so you can have Daruma with full health!!!

It doesnt dude

If Trollfreak had made Daruma mode as instant as DW Ditto then yes. This pokémon would be complete, from both ends of the attacking spectrum; you could say a double-edged sword if u will. But it seems that one side appears to be blunt which is a shame. It would have made a very good bulky trick room sweeper with max defense and max Hp to abuse its bulk and use calm mind with STAB fire blast and psychic *sigh*

Daruma Mode can be caught in the game with full health. You can have a full health sweeper.

No you can´t. You can catch normal Hihidarumas with Daruma mode ability. They change at <50%, because it´s their ability. Other Hihidarumas have Encourage and won´t ever change.

Not sure if it was already told but...

Once a Hihidaruma activates its Daruma Mode, Ditto can transform into this form... at full health.

bloody hell daruma mode hihi either sucks, is outclassed, not worth going through all the trouble or all 3. why use him when there is stuff that that doesnt need to get his ass kicked(can be argued but you still gotta lose 50% hp to actually start atacking, is it really worth?) to actually do some damage? physical LO and choice sets are the ones you are suppose to go for, i am sure that was mentioned multiple times here already.

daruma mode hihidaruma is for wankers anyway.

Daruma mode is an inferior Heatran. End of discussion

Normal Hihidaruma, however, is a monster. I've been using this, and it crushes teams.

Hihidaruma
Encourage
252 att/ 252 speed/ 4hp
Jolly
Salac Berry

Substitute
Belly Drum
Fire Punch
Earthquake

Under the right condictions, this thing can set up and destroy the unexpecting. Try to switch in on a free turn with no SR. Sub if you predict a non attacking move, or just use Belly drum if they do attack. Hihidaruma has enough HP to survive and drum. Fire Punch is for STAB, and Earthquake was the best coverage move I could find.

Once it sets up, Hihidaruma has

1516 Attack (SWEET JESUS!)
475 Speed

Here's a better gimmick that doesn't require you to nearly die or only get your Speed boost once:

Hihidaruma @ Life Orb
Jolly
Encourage

Nitro Charge
Flare Blitz
Rock Slide
Earthquake

You're welcome. :V

The conditions required are totally not worth it. Hihidaruma can easily be revenged by strong priority and faster Scarfers as is, not to mention LO Flare Blitz is enough destructive power to run over things as is. It's much easier to scout those potential enemies out earlier if you're not limited to two attacking moves and a Speed berry that only works once. Plus, faster scarfers and priority are the exact reason most 4th gen SubSalac sets were removed from analyses in the the later stages of the metagame.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Encourage negate the speed boost of Nitro Charge?

I was under the impression that it only negates secondary effects, not primary ones. Nitro Charge boosts Speed every time, so it shouldn't be affected.

No he's right, in the research thread it was confirmed Nitro Charge won't raise the speed of a pokemon with encourage.

What happens if u change into Daruma mode and then heal him? Will he stay in Daruma mode? I heard that when he changes forms his atk and sp. atk switch and his def./sp. def double while his speed drops like a rock. SOOO, If I increase his atk, will I be increasing his sp. atk in Daruma mode? Anyway, A long story short, I was making a sunny day team when I saw him so I planned on putting his Daruma mode to use and gave him this:

Substitute
Solarbeam
Flamethrower
Rest

I was banking on making him somewhat of a staller, since his defenses would rise to about 400 while his sp. atk would still be about 400 too.

Crazy, a 400 sp. atk, sp. def, def. pokemon that can stall and be a total annihalator with access to Solarbeam and Flamethrower, with rest the whole 50% health would'nt be a problem, and if U were wondering how the sunny day would come about, I put Ninetails and Groudon on the team (ability:Drought) along with a few others that work well in a Sunny day team (Cherrim actually has astronomical power with STAB solarbeam and Fire weather ball(more than 400 sp. atk) Although I'm sure you all would be able to tell me a better way of doing this, I Don't really Care, It's not for competitive purposes) Sorry for getting off track, anyway daruma is a monster.

It goes back to normal mode if you heal, and the stat change don't work exactly like you think. :P

Check this thread and the research thread for details on how everything works regarding Daruma mode.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but how does the rounding work with Daruma mode? If Hihidaruma is at full health and uses Belly Drum, does Daruma Mode activate? Do you need to have an even HP?

I know people are saying that Belly-Daruma is a stupid strategy, due to the fact that its speed gets cuts so harshly, but in a Trick Room setting, this is actually kinda a plus.

I think Daruma Mode was made for Rotation battles. In TR, it's great, as well as being able to set up TR anytime. Crap outside of Rotation, though.

Daruma Mode is overrated. All it does is force Hihidaruma to essentially start at half health, give it a terrible secondary typing, and make it walled by Blissey and Chansey.
