Darmanitan

Daruma Mode is like Hihidaruma adding insult to its own injuries - it suddenly gets more defensive only after it's lost half its HP, completely slows itself down, and gives itself an even worse defensive typing. It's almost as if it's saying "I give up so I'm gonna cripple myself" *curls up into a ball and awaits death*

If Trollfreak had made Daruma mode as instant as DW Ditto then yes. This pokémon would be complete, from both ends of the attacking spectrum; you could say a double-edged sword if u will. But it seems that one side appears to be blunt which is a shame. It would have made a very good bulky trick room sweeper with max defense and max Hp to abuse its bulk and use calm mind with STAB fire blast and psychic *sigh*

lol flare blitz in the sun OHKO sweeping dragonite though
even his fire punch hurt like hell. Believe me no mence want to switch on FB or even Fir punch

Pretty beastly, but what kind of damage does FB do to the likes of 4x resistors, especially those with a SE STAB, namely Kingdra and Garchomp?

CB Adamant Hihi FB on 0/0 Kingdra - 33.68% - 39.52%
LO Adamant Hihi FB on 0/0 Kingdra - 28.87% - 34.36%
LO Adamant Hihi Superpower on 0/0 Kingdra - 64.95% - 76.63%

CB Adamant can 3hko, and LO can 2hko with Flare Blitz and Superpower, providing Kingdra is running a neutral Speed Nature (I think most nowadays are Adamant?)

um? intimidate much?

it requires sun which is not used as much as rain and sand. Hail is not worth mentioning

those calcs are like these:
Choice Specs Heatran Eruption VS Standard Lugia IN THE SUN: 99.8% - 117.5%
Choice Specs Heatran Eruption VS 252/252 Lugia IN THE SUN: 83.9% - 99% (if only stealth rock was up)

they NEED sun and a choice item to do some damage

here is hihidaruma's calculations:
-1 Life Orb Hihidaruma Flare Blitz VS salamence IN THE SUN: 52.9% - 62.5%
-1 Life Orb Hihidaruma Flare Blitz VS salamence WITH NO WEATHER: 33.5% - 39.6% (look at the difference)
-1 Life Orb Hihidaruma Flare Blitz VS salamence IN THE RAIN: 17.8% - 20.8% (Again, look at the difference)

the calcs use -1 attack because that is what intimidate would do

We wouldn't be doing that unless mence switched in on us. And if hihidaruma is scarfed, then mence is dead.

Daruma can still Rock Slide, so I don't understand why we're using Flare Blitz on a Salamence in the first place.

In the sun, Flare blitz has 90% of the power of a Super Effective Rock Slide (135 vs. 150; not counting encourage); that's not a great difference really... if you look at the FB calcs on mence that lunanight did, it 2hkoes... good enough.

I got raped by a banded Hihi recently, because I have no safe switch ins and my lead was a Scizor. Unless you have a pokemon with Flash Fire or a quad resist like Kingdra than Hihi is just going to lay waste. It doesn't have to sweep. Constantly using it to hit and run and break walls is its specialty.

Screw choice band Hihi, LO is the way to go!

LO FB in the sun is an OHKO to any pokemon (that doesn't take immunity from fire moves).

Garchomp only 2x resists Fire anyway, not four. Omastar and Abagoora do though and they have very high defense too.

I think that many people completely forget Encourage.
With Encourage, Flare Blitz and Rock Slide's power increase to 156 and 97,5. Enough to 2KO Salamence at -1 with LO and SR, and Rock Slide is no longer a poor option.
I've played the LO, and Flare Blitz hurts like hell. He is just a hit & run truck.

Lolwut!?!?!?!?!?

Have you read the post above you!?!?!?!?

one set on it i played around with really worked well as a revenge killer

Hihidaruma/choice scarf
Jolly/Adamant
252 speed/252attack/4hp
flareblitz
Earthquake
stone edge
u turn

I should say "a few players", it's because Lunanight didn't mention it in his calcs.

The only (and big) problem with Choice Sets is the SR weakness :/
