Eviolite

So you really want to give Knock off to a Pokemon just to pick off the occasional Eviolite user? Unlikely.

Knock Off can be pretty useful in other situations too, like knocking off Leftovers, Choice Scarfs, Pinch Berrys etc. I think Knock Off is a very usable move

it wouldn't be too great TBH but I could see potential. Leech Seed/Leaf Storm/Sleep Powder/Filler seems usable. Max out HP and SpD I guess. In general, grass types are pretty useful this gen due to rotom-w though.

However, it seems to have competition with Shyamin, which has better defense on the special side.

I think that lileep has a lot of potential as a bulky grass type this gen. He can achieve a special defense stat of 450 with eviolite, and his abilities are both amazing. You can use him either to wall bulky waters (storm drain) or just as a tank (either ability). If you opt to use suction cups, he can't be phazed out either.

It doesn't really need leftovers. It has ingrain, leech seed, and recover. This thing isn't going down easily. Plus, it also gets stealth rock, which is always nice. Unfortunately, if you're using storm drain stealth rock and recover are illegal on the same set, since no parent can pass them both.

the only good cradily set is curse restalk with rock slide; lileep is not good enough at doing that.

In fact all that lileep can do is sit there and cower at anything with a substitute or a grass type...

OUT COMES THE INNER N@BZ!

What about having a Magmar? Its would be like a bulkier Magmortar...with lower atk and spec atk. Overall it sounds like a dumb idea but can somebody with more in depth knowledge than myself shortly analyze this possibility.

well it is bulkier but hes an offensive mon.

Damn eviolite and those fanboy hyping useless sets(lol eviolite slowpoke is bulkier than Eviolite SlowbrO)

But its offenses are almost comparable to a WURMPLE'S...It has great bulk and could rely on status/Steel trapping/trolling opponents, but it's too weak to even Explode (thanks nerf). Toxitroll and TWave could be disruptve, and it could also act as a second Sand set-upper almost guaranteed to survive an attack in case Sand Stream is nullified...

Anyone suggest a Scyther set? Mine would be...
Scyther @ Eviolite
(Some +Def, -SpA nature)
252 HP/252 Spd/4 Atk
Swords Dance
Bug Bite
Aerial Ace
Pursuit

Probably might need go back to HeartGold to make this one.

Bold lowers physical Attack.

The nature you're thinking of is Impish.

Pursuit on an SD sweeper? Nah, try Roost to abuse the Eviolite. Also, use 248 HP EVs instead of 252. 252 EVs is an even number and if Scyther has one it'll die to two SR switchins.

Bold lowers physical Attack.

Whoops. Edited.

I'd suggest Roost over Pursuit and Brick Break over Bug Bite.

Also maybe some more EV's in defense wouldn't hurt.

Didn't think of the Steel-types that would wall this set to hell. I also should add more Defense EVs. And Roost will work, since Eviolite isn't useful if the Pokemon holding doesn't have a recovery move. Porygon2 w/Eviolite has Recover, and Dusclops w/Eviolite has Pain Split, which is ineffective at times.

Edited EVs:
252 HP/72 Atk/180 Def

I guess Swords Dance will compensate for the loss of some Attack EVs.

Duosion, Klang, and Shelmet are really good with Eviolite. Kling has higher defenses than it's evolved form, but suffers an even worse move pool and no recovery. Duosion and Reuniclus have the same base 120 Sp Attack, as well as Recover and immunity to status/weather. And Shelmet can be either immune to status, weather, or critical hits (Eviolite's ONLY weakness), but not all three at once. At least he gets Recover, too.

Eviolite's boosts aren't negated by Criticals since they aren't technically "+1", since the effect lasts outside of battle also. I've read this from Thorhammer I believe, but he knows more about game mechanics than I do so I probably didn't explain it that well.
