Garchomp Voting to start on September 5th

I'm actually not doing too bad on chris is sparta, i just need to get the deviation down, then relearn everything about the standard metagame.

Please do the right thing?

Yep. Don't just vote what everyone else is voting, vote what you actually believe should happen to Garchomp. If everyone is like "lol it shud be ubered" and you think it isn't, don't change your stance on the issue.

I just thought I would mention this because I find usually people switch sides if it looks like their side is losing... which skews the results greatly.

Or maybe they change sides because they find the winning side has a stronger argument? Why would people change sides just because they're on the losing end of a vote when there are no individual consequences for supporting the losing option?

...Uh... There's no consequence for voting on the losing side. I still don't see why anyone would change their opinion for a reason other than they think the other side has a better argument. That's what I did, mostly...

Generally, the people whom are going to be allowed to vote aren't picking an opinion because other people are...

I agree with Skiddle that most people are sheep. It is annoying and that is why the whole idea of voting typically doesn't work. I don't think the people that are trying to get Garchomp banned have a valid argument anyway, I just think they have had sour experiences.

I really don't think it's fair to say that the argument against Garchomp, made by some of the top players in the world (jrrr and jabba are the ones off the top of my head that i know are staunchly against an OU Garchomp), is entirely invalid and based on a sour experience or two. Like, that's a horrible thing to say, really. I can't really adress your claim without pulling up my or soemone else's argument, but that claim seems completely baseless. I guess if you're elgible to vote, write a counter argument and try and convince people.

I don't get why you hate Pelippers so much, they don't hurt anyone. =[

On a more serious note, I will hopefully be voting for this case. However, I myself am still confused on the matter as to where to place my vote, but time will tell I guess XD

I know that a lot of people want Garchomp banned for legitimate reasons. I agree with Siberia, Jabba and Jrrrrr, it should be banned.

I just don't want people to ban it because those users want it banned.

Because it hasnt been tested in a suspectless metagame.

The process is described in the policy review forum.

Have a nice day.

I have a question. Right now I fulfill the requirements for being able to vote, with a 1743-1863 deviation on standard and a 1622-1742 on suspect, but what if my my ranking drops in the next few days or something and makes it so I'm unable to vote.

Basically my question is; If we have the requirements before Sept 5th but not on Sept 5th, are we allowed to vote?

lol. Yes everyone, get as many points as possible so you can vote whether to ban Garchomp or not. Pretty funny if you ask me. Netherless, I'll get on Shoddy anyway (cuz i tend to get bored as fuck)

Here's the current list of players that meet the voting criteria as of the most recent ratings update, which occurs every night at 11:30pm US Pacific time. I'll try to post regular updates here, as September 5th approaches.

(Pardon the pun on "Standard Deviation". As a stats geek, I couldn't resist...)

If you want to vote, get your numbers where they need to be. This thread was posted so that everyone knows the requirements... I got there in a matter of 24 hours; five days is more than enough time to make it if you have the talent and knowledge of someone that should be included in the poll. And yes... you must meet the requirements at the data collection point on 9/5. Meeting requirements at any point other than the final day is insufficient... we want to make sure people stay involved until the end.

It's about time i know how it works
What are you talking about? I had revealed this information about 2 or 3 days after the start of the suspect ladder. :/

It's not like nobody knew the requirements. I had posted the requirements almost as soon as the testing started.

If you want I'll link you.

What really happened is that the deadline is approaching and only now are the people caring about what the requirements are to vote. :/ It's the same as in my school I guess. I give an assignment for a month later and they start asking questions about it 2 days before the deadline. :/ Yeah, we're talking about the same age people alright.

My apologises but still even if you have revealed this a long time ago only a few people knew about it.
I asked a lot of people on the ladder who could be able to vote on the ladder most didn't know others said only the ones in the suspect ladder could vote.
Most people on the ladder only read like the first page and that's about it certainly after the huge ammount of spam i've seen in the first version

if the information was released publicly and openly, then who is at fault for not knowing it?

But if you REALLY wanted to know, you could have sent me a PM or something? I never received a PM from ANYONE asking me what the criteria to vote are. :/

You should be grateful to Aeolus that he repeated what was said already. He really had no obligation to do so.

Unfortunately for me, Shoddy isn't working on my computer. I've tried to have people help me with the problem, but nobody is really interested in spending time to help or they just have no idea. If there is any possible way around this for me to vote, let me know, as I would hate to miss this event just because my computer is gay.

Of course i'm glad Aeolus did make this topic, have i ever said i wasn't?
but aren't mods supposed to announce important events?

Banning Garchomp will be one if the biggest changes ever made in the D/P metagame. But still the announcement how to participate in this vote is somewhere in a topic on page 2 or 3

Knowing how important this vote will be most normal people(or at least i do) think this will be said in an announcement like this one.
