Gimmick Thread!

Remoraid @ Focus Strip - Hustle/Adamant
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Flail
- Thunder Wave

Remoraid gets 376 Atk after Hustle. Protect is convenient for Choice pokemon. Waterfall is the main attack. Flail is for slamming hard after you take a hit yourself and get saved by Focus Strip. Alternatively, take a hit, Thunder Wave, then Flail afterwards.

This one is terrible (albeit amusing), but there are also many useful gimmicks (which usually take advantage of the metagame).

Post more! (usefulness doesn't matter that much)

Aerodactyl @ Choice Specs ** Novodactyl
Modest Nature (-Attack, +Special Attack)
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Ancient Power
- Hidden Power (Flying)

Novelty special set. Max Special Attack Choice Specs Aerodactyl does at least 51% on Max Special Defense/HP Calm Bronzong with it's Fire Blast. Ancient Power and Hidden Power for STAB. HP Ground means you aren't walled by Heatran.

I once used a Sceptile with Leaf Blade/Crunch/Pursuit/HP Fire... it actually killed a couple of Zams/Gars... and with Wish support, you can take them on both. HP Fire nails stuff like Skarm/Forry who resist Grass and Dark.

This one might even be more useful in D/P with Leaf Blade, Crunch and Pursuit being Physical.

Oh, and an Articuno with Mind Reader/Sheer Cold/Ice Beam/HP Fire. Never actually used it, but... yeah, this is a gimmick thread so I might as well list it.

Kangaskahn -Level 1
@No item
Any nature, any EVs
-Subsitute
-Thief
-Endeavor
-Filler
Scrappy

Use with someone who can block/mean look and sleep for guaranteed KOs. (Assuming they don't wake up.) Block, put them to sleep, switch in Kangaskahn, subsitute up and proceed to endeavor their whole team with sandstorm support. For steels/rocks/grounds, thief their item first and THEN endeavor, effectively leaving them at 1 HP unless you're lucky enough to thief again. Catches people by surprise, and they make stupid switches - e.g. switching to a ghost to try and resist endeavor, switching to a sweeper, etc.

Omastar @ Damp Rock/Silk Scarf/Mystic Water
Swift Swim
- Wring Out
- Brine
- Rain Dance
- Stealth Rock/Spikes

Get your Rain Dance on, then Wring Out a poke with full health. 120~ BP off 115 base Special Attack will most likely bring them down to 50% health or less--at which point Brine becomes 130 BP.

If you can get Blissey down to half health, Brine will ALWAYS KO her. Even if she's Calm and has max HP and SD and you have no SpA EVs and no rain and no boosting item and a neutral nature.

Of course, if they switch out after you Wring 'em Out, Brine goes from watery grave to half-filled bathtub. So you use the fourth move to discourage switches.

Tyranitar WHAnitar
Timid
@Leftovers
Dragon Dance
Rock Slide
Dark Pulse
Flamethrower/Thunderbolt/Surf/(Ice beam if it can learn it...)

Start off with dragon dance then when they switch to their physical wall, smack it with a Dark Pulse or your chosen special attack. The DD raises your enough so you should be able to outspeed all of your counters. When they figure out your tricks and send out the fat pink wall of doom... rockslide it.

Even with a Atk- nature and no attack EVs, a Dragon Danced Rockslide should be a one hit KO right?

I tried this one out once.

Bibarel @ Salac Berry
Simple
252 SpA 252 Spd 4 HP
-Charge Beam
-Super Fang
-Hyper Beam
-Surf

Charge beam furiously for the first two turns, hoping that you can somehow survive that long. (You won't.) Use surf to get rid of those pesky ground types on the way.

If you somehow manage to pull off both of them, your opponent will probably switch to Blissey to wall you, or just so she can laugh at you too. Super fang, hope you survive the seismic toss (You won't) and hyper beam. Good chance of KOing the standard Blissey.

To Kanak0: Rock slide's a 2HKO on standard blissey with max defense EVs. Stone Edge is VERY close to a 1HKO - only a few points off, and there's a chance sandstorm'll send that fat egg rolling home anyway... stone edge with hard stone, and with sandstorm factored in, is probably always a 1HKO. -Assuming max attack IV, EVs and positive nature.

If you don't invest into Attack, then even a DD Rock Slide is useless against Blissey. Another pokemon does that set's job way better: BOAH Tyrannitar.

What is the BOAH Tyrannitar set? Is it the raindancing one or am I thinking of something else...

Edit:
And how about Focus Punch? If you can predict the switch it should KO it right?

I find it funny how I've used more than half of the sets listed here. (Then again, I AM posting some of these...)

Smeargle @Razor Claw/Razor Fang **Emo
Lonely Nature
-Cut
-Sing
-Fake Tears
-Selfdestruct

Smeargle **Bush

-Thief
-Nasty Plot
-Curse
-Doom Desire

I remember someone showing me the emo one somewhere, and I made up Bush just now. :p

It's in the Tyrannitar analysis. Lol, it isn't raindancing

Though this up.

Weavile@ Wise glasses ***** The Weavile set you should never use
Modest
Spatt/252 Spd/252

Nasty plot
Ice beam
Darkpulse
Focus blast

Just a joke Weavile set

Yeah, I'd rather not waste my time special sweeping with pokemon that are actually designed to physical sweep, like Aerodactyl and Weavile.

However, a special sweeping Ledian that received some Speed Boosts / Nasty Plot boosts would absolutely kill

The Jolly Monkeys juggle (themselves) in and out of the stage. Watch as Infernape jumps through a Fire Spin while Ambipom Bounces around the big top and Tickles the audience with his jokes. They're so good, the audience always requests an Encore.

Substitute, Sword dance, Baton pass. Bibarel will have +4 speed and +4 attack.

Haven't tested yet.

Blissey@Lefties
252 HP/252 Def
Bold
-Substitute
-Counter
-ST
-Softboiled

Walled by Gar, but if you switch in on a Special Attacker and Sub on the switch, as long as ur not facing Tar/Pert Counter is a KO.

Ambipom @ King's Rock
Technician
----
Fake-out
Fling
Protect
Last Resort

Technician boosts Fake-out to 60 base power, 90 after STAB. Flinch next turn with Fling+King's Rock. Protect yourself. Then you can Last Resort sweep with 130 base power, 195 after STAB. Lol.

Sluggish gross

Metagross @Iron ball
Adamant
Hp/252 At/252

-Meteor mash
-Earthquake
-Hammer arm
-Explosion

This set looks speed in the eye and says, "Fuck you". Ideal for trickroom teams. Iron ball to hit a flyer who thinks he can wall you.

How does it beat fliers?
And fliers are usually quite fragile, bar Skarmory and Togekiss.
