Are you against hacking??

that every single one I trade with here is so conscious about whether a Pokemon is hacked or not. I mean, even if the Pokemon was hacked to be made legit like having perfect IVS, or it's something outrageous like Wondertomb (pretty damn useful) people still refuse.

The question is, are YOU against hacking???

I don't see the problem with hacking as long as everything is legit as in no 252 evs in every stat and that sort of thing. I guess some people who breed for hours just don't like how others can get a good pokemon in a mere minutes?

Also, it's not a wonder why anyone would refuse wondertomb. It's outside of the limits of the game. Also, anything with Fire Fang can still hit Wondertomb lol.

Hacking defeats the purpose of the game. If GameFreak had intended for people to create perfect pokemon, they would've put an option at the beginning of the game to allow it.

But not all hacking is bad. I remember when people would commonly hack their legit pokemon to make them shiny. But my point is, creating pokemon for the purpose of battling or even breeding is wrong.

Uh oh, not this thread again...

Hacking game-legal Pokemon is fine by me as it saves tons of time and people can actually get to some competitive battling. To be honest I think a lot less people would care about hacked guys if Nintendo / whoever else holds tournaments allowed game-legal hacked guys.

Currently the only thing that I would be against is being traded things created in 5 minutes for things I've bred (especially when people lie about it).

It's not fair to trade a hack for somethng someone worked hard to breed. Hack for a hack, I don't care. But there's no pride or sense of accomplishment in hacking.

Modifying IVs I can't stand, there are people who have spent hours legitimately earning their Pokemon with the IVs they want, for someone to just modify them on a whim is a shame.

Meh, I just say that people that just create Pokemon by AR, PokeSav, or whatever, can't even be called Pokemon Trainers, because they don't even train the thing, they just make it. It completely defeats the purpose of playing the game. Because of this, I call these people Pokemon Savvers, due to the fact that they don't care enough to train, or even breed a Pokemon naturally.

I'm not knocking people who do hack, it's just the truth.

Edit: 200th Post! Over the threshold, and into another one. Hurrah, etc. etc.

Personally, I'm not againest hacking unless it's hacking things thats beyond the limit of the game like WonderTomb or 252 EV in every stat. I think a better question would be "Would you trade a pokemon for another pokemon if you knew it was hacked?"

I'd rather people use Pokemon they bred themselves ingame, because otherwise one could just use an online simulator. I don't care about hacking items or moves onto a Pokemon that could get those moves anyways, though. For example, I won't care if you hack Ice Punch onto say, a Regirock because you forgot to tutor it that move.

Exactly. What the hell is with this thread, AGAIN. What is this, a continuing 1-per-month poll?

If people want to battle with a hack, and both parties agree, whatever. Trading hacks for legits under false pre-tense is not right, and that's why people are paranoid. End of subject.

I don't care about hacking unless you're trading hacks. That's just lazy.

Most people who battle with hacks are NOOBs who don't realize how to battle. I fainted my friend's wondertomb with foresight + dynamic punch on machamp.

Uh, I don't like hacking. I like putting hours into my Pokémon and love and care and all that. But as long as one tells me before, I could put up with battling a game-legal hacked team. Just don't expect me to trade with you.

When it comes to using pokesho pokemon to breed iv pokes onto others yea, or for actual wifi battles. But if its for fun or to show off during iv battles or trades then I'm ok with that.

Depends on what it's for. If it's for the event legends like Arceus, or the three extra Poketch apps, then no, I could care less about that. Same goes for hacking to get fully EV trained Pokemon up to Level 100 for the sake of it. If it's a wild Pokemon with egg moves, it's not as bad, although I still end up a little disappointed. But when I see that Brave Bird/Head Smash/Flare Blitz/Volt Tackle straight 31s Aerodactyl, or that Wonder Guard Spiritomb, i'm angry.

Getting a little too sucked into the game, no? According to what I've seen on TV, being a Pokemon trainer consists of being a 10-year-old Japanese kid leaving home to CATCH 'EM ALL!!!!11!!

...But on a more serious note, I think most people here are here for the competitive aspect of battling as opposed to beating the Elite 4.

I laughed when I saw the results after I voted. Right now it's exactly 50/50.

This is a very divided issue for a lot of reasons but mainly it comes down to it being sort of an unfair advantage to those putting in the time to play the odds with the random number generators. Whether they chose to do it because of the money it takes to buy a hacking device/flash cart, because of the "ethics" of cheating or just because they actually enjoy breeding, it takes the breeder much more effort, energy and luck to be on the same playing field as someone who can cheat even if they do it within the constraints of the game. Some people liken it to steroids in sports but I don't feel that's a fully accurate and appropriate comparison. If you're really interested in all the arguments there's plenty of threads about this if you just use the search function.

Personally, I'm not against it as long as everything is obtainable in theory without the cheating. I don't play competitively enough anymore nor do I have the time or patience to breed legitimately so I will hack in the pokemon I need.
