League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

? Did i kill the thread?
Anyway i wanna use rammus and i probably need some tips for him. Hes still imba riggt? :P.
But yeaaaaa he looks good. I kinda dont understand defensive ball curl tho. Can he still walk while in defensive ball curl?
You can still walk while in Defensive Ball Curl, but your movement speed is lowered. You cannot use Powerball while in Defensive Ball Curl and vice-versa.

If you want some tips, check some guides!

Kk does anyone know how to check solo queue elo?
I tried going into logs and searching unranked after checking my profile but it doesnt seem to work.
Or is only ranked elo checkable?

Dude you dont have to be pro to work on a guide. Guides are always works in progress and will change as the player improves or the metagame or game changes. But you DO NOT have to be super pro to write a guide

Not to mention that Jebus has written high ranking guides for damn near every character on Mobafire.

They got rid of that "bug" several patches ago. I don't believe it's possible to check normal game ELO anymore.

nah. most of those don't have much effort put into them

it's mainly Amumu that I put a lot of time into.

I've been having another go with Shen, I'm not great at it but it's at least going better than my 0/x/0 outings I had the first time I tried. Here's THE BUILD

Doran's Shield
Boots
HoG
Merc Treads
Aegis
Randuin's
Thornmail/FoN
Sunfire

Warwick is my number #1 main, and after a ton of fussing I've finally figured out my build.

Madred's Bloodrazer
Sorcerer's Shoes
Wit's End (Ideal, but situationally switched out for Stark's or Black Cleaver)
Bloodthirster
Guardian Angel
Sunfire Cape (Sometimes Black Cleaver)

Offensive Masteries, Armor Penetration, Dodge, and Cooldown Runes.

But the worst part about playing WW is that no one will ever respect you. If you are doing less than spectacular (a momentum thing with WW more than any other character I find) and your team is losing, it is all your fault. If you are doing fantastic and your team of feeders is losing, they will still blame you. If a tower on the other side of the map falls, it is because you were jungling. If people can't play defensive and die 3 times within the first 3 minutes (even ones in the 2 man lane), it is because you were jungling. If my teammates can't possibly drop an enemy below half health before I hit level 6, then I'm the shitty player.

Whenever someone says "Warwick, you need to lane" I just want backhand them through the computer. Everytime I see an enemy Warwick he is laning, and you know what I do then? I eat him. Very easily in fact, no one sucks more than laning Warwick.

Try getting a Banshee's Veil instead of Sunfire Cape - of course, it's situational based on their team comp. Banshee's Veil is just too good to pass up, though. :S

Lane Warwick in theory isn't a bad idea but I agree, he's too good to not be jungling.

Mmmm, I don't disagree, the cape is ballin but it's use is kinda lost on WW. I'd say the same about Guardian Angel except that is protects my Bloodthirster. It's just that the last item usually makes little difference, I'd want Banshee alot sooner if the other items weren't so vital.

Spirit Visage is a great item on WW since he has lots of innate healing capabilities. Try getting it after your Bloodrazor.

WW is a fairly mediocre carry, but a solid Tank/DPS, as most junglers are.

Hungering Strike by itself is sufficient for staying alive most of the time, you really do need a team to take Warwick down and if they can focus me enough that I can only use 1 HS then Spirit Visage won't really have payed for itself. Besides which, the damage that Wit's End adds really has to be seen to be believe. If they don't have at least 4 mana users, it is better to go elsewhere, with Stark's in general and Cleaver if the enemy team if fairly beefy.

Mmm i almost won 3v 5 with a warwick cept i had to leave.
OMG rammus is so beast. I dont really know how, but by running away with defensive curl and tremors and then chasing again i killed 4/5 of a team 1v 4

rammus is op because he kills you if you don't focus him and you kill yourself if you attack him with anything other than an ap nuker with a stun + tank :(

i play warwick as sort of an off tank who specialises in causing trouble unless you focus him

mercury's treads
madred's bloodrazor
sunfire cape/banshee's veil
atma's impaler
wit's end/hexdrinker
brack creaver/stark's fervor (the latter only when nobody else buys it which is often)

with this you can target someone and rend their mp as well as their armor (if you pick the boracku cureveru) meaning if you focus someone with your team they'll drop like flies

once i played against a midwick who built lots of mage items. he took down our squishies with hungering strike until people realised you could build mres. not a problem, since i dominated him in lane as vlad anyway but yeah. laning warwick is one of the worst laners in the game

I've played against enough Rammus to say that I don't think he's op at all. Mind you, may be because Warwick just doesn't give a fuck about tanks, but even then I still play other characters and never think him any more an inconvenience than any other tank.

I've been thinking about what mtr said about Warwick being a mediocre carry, and it's not something I've ever noticed. If I'm doing Warwick correctly, then I've eaten their carry early and often, gotten Dragon on timer, and solo'd Baron. At that point, I'm firmly in "just don't give a fuck" territory, even farting around the enemy base while my team is halfway across the map. The good and bad thing about Warwick is that it's more about control and momentum with him then any other character. For instance, a bad game I played not too long ago I went 4-8. Why? Because their Anivia was taking not just their Golem buff, but invading to get mine. And you might think, so what, no one can go 1 on 1 with Warwick, but Rammus was with her literally everywhere she went. And I might not give a fuck about Rammus, but I wasn't going to 2v1 before even level 6, and by mid game Anivia and Rammus had swayed control from me. It took two players to outjungle Warwick, but without that control and momentum I was just fucked.

Let me put it this way: you don't pick WW because you want a top carry capable of amazing single-target damage. If you wanted that, you'd take Kog'Maw or Tristana, or even Yi. You pick WW because you want jungle control, fast dragons and barons, and a solid midgame ganker. If you look at top WW players, oftentimes the only damage item they build is a Bloodrazor, then they immediately start building tanky. Of course, you can get a Black Cleaver or whatever later on in the match, but whatever.

I owned Amumu on my other account, but never really got into him because I was a noob back then. I recently bought him again, and though he isn't as strong as he was in the glory days, I think he can still jungle, and is still a decent champion.

Well, I used to go all out with the damage items, but now I stop with Bloodthirster. There's no way I'm not going to get Wit's End if the enemy team has enough mana users, and Bloodthirster may be really what allows me to run through enemies late game.

My only problem with WW is he's overrated. Yes, he's the holy shit best jungler in the game, and one of the best one v. one champs around. But after that he falls short in every other category. He's good at a bunch of things and only great at a select few. What's worse is that you don't have to be the best jungler in the world to be an effective one.

Not to bag the champ, he's really good, but he's just that: only good. He's not the holy shit fantastic people seem to think he is.

Warwick's job isn't to be good. It's to make your carries better than those of the opposing team, and you do that by ganking hard, stealing buffs, securing dragon, and getting Baron. However, I do agree in that there are some areas in which he is bested.

He's certainly not the fastest jungler in the game. That title actually belongs to, believe it or not, Karthus - although the way Stonewall does it isn't really viable for anything but speed. He's not the best ganker either, cause Shaco wins that title easily.

As you said, speed isn't everything. While jungling, Warwick is almost never in a position where he can't go one on one, whether to counter jungle, gank, or avoid being ganked. You'll only be going back to buy stuff. And unlike Shaco, WW isn't totally shut down by Oracle. The only thing that can beat a good WW player is teamwork, which is probably why he rocks the solo queue.

I'm loving Sion atm. I always flirt with the idea of playing tanks (In matters of skill, I am best with Assassins and Support, I can do tanks, and I'm bad with casters), but this is the first one I can really get behind. I go AP nuke with him, I've yet to have poor k/d even in games where I've lost.

Played a Jungle Amumu game, and after 2 successful ganks outleveled the enemy solo lanes. Yet I'm not really comfortable with him as a jungler, since he lacks the rapid, sustained jungling prowess of my beloved Udyr.

True - but Amumu becomes such a game-breaker late-game in team fights, while Udyr's influence isn't as instantly noticeable unless he was reasonably fed mid-game.

Personally I've been loving Malphite in the lane lately, and I also plan to learn Nunu, mainly to counter-jungle.

I main Malphite, and his lane dominance is stupid good. Every time my friend tries out a new champ and lanes, I play Malphite to turn on easy mode for him, and start feeding him. He's just unnecessarily good at laning. Getting Ganked? Q. Want to Harass? Q. Need to catch up for a kill? Q. Need to slow someone for your laning partner to get a kill? Q.

Recently I've been doing Malphite + Trundle lanes with a friend of mine, and every single time it results in either one or both of us being fed early game and just rolling into late game wrecking teamfights like no other. Their CC and damage just mesh together so damn well.

Meanwhile, I've been trying out jungle Udyr for a couple days now, and I'm testing different skill paths for his Jungling, but after I get through the first pass, I have no idea what items to buy, or how to play him, or what. Tips, tricks, recommendations?

After the first pass, get some Boots. Build up a Madred's Razor, and then a Wriggle's Lantern. Then build tank gear.

Some top players don't buy Lantern, instead building a HoG from the Cloth Armor. But there remains much debate on that, and many top Udyr's still do Lantern.

Should I be waiting to gank after level 4? Usually, I wait for my ult, but well... So is it an okay idea to just Jukebox Heroing once you have Bear Stance?

Udyr can go either Phoenix or Tiger focused. His jungling routes are Level 4 Gank (Blue/Wolves/Wraith/Red/Golem --> Gank) or Level 5 Gank (Wolves/Wraith/Golem --> Bluepill --> Blue/Wolves/Wraith/Red/Golem --> Gank).

Whatever you decide, get Bear at Level 4 and go for ganks if you can find them.

I love Udyr, and have read lots of information written by Top Elo Udyr's on the ways to play him. Suffice to say, there's a lot of variation. The only constant is that Banshee's Veil is a great item on him, and that you must jungle.

lots of free heroes this week i haven't played before (gangplank, udyr, corki mostly but i haven't played sion or leblanc either) to try out
