Shen isn't remotely good at backdooring. He is good at relentlessly pushing a side lane and eventually knocking your shit down if you completely ignore him though, then teleporting into the 4v4 teamfight elsewhere and automatically winning it for his team.

Yi is better because he can be denied farm and kills but eventually he gets a full build and can TP to a ward and shred a turret faster than shen and tf combined. And when enemies come to stop him there is almost no way to prevent him from escaping and running to another lane and pushing that. If your team knows what they're doing it is stoppable but in soloqueue good luck.
I have genuinely never tried to backdoor as tf but i can see it being a good idea since i can't name many champions who clear creeps better than he does! I just prefer to endlessly miss escaping enemies with q and continuously pick red cards when i want stuns :(
Also what situations are good ones to use j4's ult in? Last time I tried to use it i got my whole team caught in rammus ult, brand ult and ezreal ult in a bot game so i kind of want to learn how to do it right...

I actually just won a ranked game as J4. I build him like a burst assassin, going 21/9/0 and starting double Doran's into a possible Wriggle's/Hexdrinker depending on my lane, then going right for a Triforce. From the time you hit level 6 until around 30, 35 minutes in, your E-Q-R-auto combo can basically 100-0 an enemy carry.
I basically use J4 ult when I can get their AD in it, and the more, the merrier. Since I don't play J4 as a tank until late, late game, I'm using it more for the damage and the ult will either force the enemy AD to flash away, leaving it unable to rejoin the teamfight because of the terrain, or to stay in it and die since J4's burst is huge.
Well, I play him as a jungler, so I use it to trap escapees during ganks for the most part, not for damage. Best to wait for Flash to be used but it's "fine" if you ult to burn a Flash since Cataclysm has a lower cooldown than Flash.

More so than before the server thing, definitely. Before I felt addicted; now I play a good amount but a lot less than before.
seen him play on my team/against me a few times, and he seems ok, the guy i played with got a tonne of kills, but died a lot too so i dunno how good of a representation that it, but his damage when he shoots through the electric wall looks pretty strong
only problem with jayce that he looks so so bad
Played a bot game with Jayce. Fed like shit. You pretty much have to decide whether you want to go ranged or melee I feel. I went AD carry build but his AA animation for the M. Cannon is SOOOOOO bad. I pretty much never miss a CS in a bot game with Caitlyn even if my lane partner is AAing the minions. I finished a 30 minute game with like 100 CS. And almost all of that came from farming lanes with M. Hammer skills after getting an IE. He seems like he'll be really fun to play and he seems incredibly strong as either a tanky dps (good gap closer/knockback combo) or a ranged ad (good poke/escape with QE and a NASTY steroid with level 5 W) but his last hitting is so hard that it will take a lot of work to be strong end game. He's nasty at low levels because he has two skills at level 1 and they both are AoE and one has a slow. And at level two you can have QE which will let you jump on an enemy and knock him towards your turret and then if they flash away you go cannon put down gate to shoot your q through it and then run through it for the speed boost.
Triforce Pantheon when cost isn't a factor (Dominion/ARAM): good idea or no? I always start Phage but my damage leaves something to be desired late game. Or would it be a better idea to go my usual route of Frozen Mallet/Atma's then Sanguine Blade/Brutalizer rather than stack resistances like Maw?
no because pantheon is an ad caster and ad casters like lots and lots of AD. the attack speed and proc isn't that good on him and ap is worthless on him

if you are using pantheons ult for the damage component then you have no idea how to play pantheon and you should feel bad
I don't understand the thinking behind the term "AD caster". "Caster" implies magic and spells and shit to me. When I hear caster by itself, I think Swain, Annie, Ahri, etc. I guess it kinda works in this case, you can cast a spear at people, but in general some of these terms confuse me.
His W scales off of AP I believe. Also, proc not good on him? I beg to differ lol. But I guess I kinda answered my own question, Frozen Mallet/Atmas/Saguine/Brutalizer seems like a better route I think. I play way too many bruisers so I asked because Triforce is good on a good chunk of them at least.

ad caster refers to panth, renekton, riven, etc. it's a character who scales off of AD, but does their damage primarily through spells, as opposed to auto attacks

I want Zyra so badly. She will be the first champion I buy on release, unless she is a conventional assassin, in which case I will reevaluate the situation as I am godawful at assassins and don't enjoy them (though I like Akali, still suck at her though :( lol).
